So if this would be the case, why would ANS used this line to add insult for NS? I kinda don't get it.

It's easy because they don't understand anything about eastern or more precise Japanese culture. A lot of those fans from those certain fandoms are influece by their culture from the west.

Sakura use of a common Japanese saying was perfectly in line with her character. She dismissed her feelings cleanly in a comment that shifted the focus completely on to her — in the middle of a speech where she was attempting to take on the whole burden of Sasuke's defection.

What makes anti-NSers latch on to it is that it is intentionally vague. That is not Sakura or Naruto, that is Kishimoto.

Any speech for any pairing has never been able to hold water. There's always a hole in it somewhere. Whether it's that the other person doesn't love back, or there was no response...I could go on all day.

Tha same applies to Sakura's speeches. Kishimoto is going to take the pairing thing to the end, so there will never be a satisfying, watertight confession until the last handful of chapters.

I think the line was a ringer, a fake to throw readers off track. You want to talk about cannon? Well, Sakura's heart IS NOT as fickle as the Autumn sky. That's cannon. She loves long and deep, and is willing to do anything for the one she loves. Kishimoto has shown that time and time again.

And now, she has gone much farther for Naruto than she ever would have for Sasuke. Sakura was just going to follow Sasuke out of the village — she's ready to die for Naruto, all to stop Sasuke. The fact that she knew she was going to do something way more serious than just have a little chat with Sasuke is covered by Sai and Kakashi. (My personal opinion is that she got to the snowy village, knew she'd have to make a break with Naruto to do this, but wanted him to know why if she didn't come back. That she loved who he'd become. That he was worth protecting, for the village's sake as well as for her own.)

Lines like that Autumn sky one, and I imagine there will be more vague lines before it's all said and done, are meant to give other pairings hope, as well as keep our interest high. But really, Kishimoto would have to rewrite the whole manga to make any other pairing work. Not just throw in a line here and there.

theres a subtley to eastern story telling methods that sometimes gets lost in translation to a western audience. Its a use of vaguries and subtle context that a lot of people tend to misconstrue.

I actually believe your interpretaiton of it to be correct that she was in need of making a clean break with him in that regard. I speculated earlier about just that, that If hed accepted her offer and returned to the village she would have slipped away quietly at one point when she knew he was safe and gone after Sasuke and the same confront ation would have occured, or at leats occured along similar lines.

Could be as hinted by the previous anime ending and the Shippuden CD album cover.

Me personally i'm going with the generous mother type personality instead of her older tomboyish ways.

Well I wouldn't expect any less from Naruto's mother, if she's as tough as they say I'm sure she'll persuade him in the right direction to overcome the Kyuubi and hopefully his love life while she's at it.

an interesting question.

Id wager a combination of the two. given kishimoto senseis pattern in this regard. Id think that at first well see the mother. Shell introduce herself and explain a few things. then shell break out into tsundere/tomboy mode when Naruto complains or acts like a doofus. giving us a comedic moment. Then shell end on the mother side of things with some reassurance that hes on the right path.

what possible topics of conversation beyong what happned to you mom they could discuss is up for speculation, but could include, training, ramen, orange, pink haired kunoichis with strong wills and tempers, and most importantly how a woman can change her feelings.

As it was well known that according to tsunade and jiraiya that Minato and Kushina didnt quite get along at first before things changed between them.

Guys, about the manifesto. There's a really good one that I know of by Farih over at NF that's new and really elaborate; it's not exactly a pro-NS manifesto, but at the same time is an ANH/ASS manifesto and NS is mentioned in comparison to them, so indirectly I guess it is an NS manifesfo.

It's not as interminable, endless long as Mizura's but it's still detailed, extensive, and unbiasedly thoughtful, so I really reccommend it.

I would love to see a Narusaku moment relating to Kushina. something like wow that Sakura girl is sure beautiful then she hits Naruto for refusing Sakura after she poured out her feelings to him. It probably won't happen but just trying to find a way to relate Kushina to Narusaku. This is after all in the NS Debate thread.

Thanks Froot that person did his homework in his analysis everything he said is true. The reality to me is that N/H and S/S will always be one sided not true love. Kishi has obviously put closure on those two pairings with 437 and 483 and 484. Naru/Saku friendship is canon and their bond is real but Kishi has obviously shown since the beginning of part 2 that Sakura has feelings for Naruto that go beyond friendship, he again enforced this with the introduction of Yamato and Sai he's obviously trying to tell us something.

I think there's something going on between Naruto and Sakura more than just friendship as they continue to strenghten their bond.

I just came back from my fav anime convention called Fanime in San Jose CA (a very large con 2nd to AnimeEXPO in LA) which was 5 days and when I was at Fanime con and when I was at Fanime con, I met ALOT and I mean alot of undercover NaruSaku shippers. Since most of the people going to Fanime con live in America where its not as popular (latest 2010 news in Japan says its the second most popular het [not yaoi] pairing only one after the dead sasusaku pairing, which I don't know why sasusaku is first since kishimoto practically killed it already) Anyways, I found alot of people who loved NaruSaku but since the other pairings are still a bit scary to reveal our own fandom... we didn't and couldn't say much, so I felt so much better about my NaruSaku pairing shipping after Fanime and other people don't mind (they care more for the action in the series) and smile and say Awwww after they see my NaruSaku drawings. So I'm really happy.

When do those conventions happen? I'm moving to Oregon and my dad said we can go to California to see it if I want - and I know my dad, I can make him bring me

Anyway, good to know that their are more American NaruSaku fans - American the land of the free and the NaruSaku! >3 We shall take over the world!

Though, I still am curious if the SasuSaku population has gone down since the latest confrontation. The events of the Team seven meet were quite horrid with Sasuke's attack...
