I posted something about Sony patenting a new thingymabob for PS2 games somewhere in the thread, don't know if they're adding it on to the future PS3s or what.

They could be just waiting to provide downloads for PS2 games. =/

Hmm, does the Slim have backwards compatibility? Just in case, you know...my 60GB PS3 goes awry. That and my PS2's pretty much dead.

there have been some rumors about a firmware that would add BC but its just that, a rumor. So I wouldn't depend on it

With the reported less than 1% failure rate? Yeah, I'd say so.

Is the Virtua Fighter series famous here in the Philippines? How do the graphics (or was it called, gameplay ... tongue.gif) look like?

I do vaguely remember a particular arcade where some people were playing it. But, it really does seem familiar.

Seeing the graphics/gameplay might help me remember if I ever played it.

Though I am a girl, I am a dedicated arcade player. happy.gif

But, I usually play the Tekken series, Street Fighter, and the Marvel vs. Capcom series --> though this one made me bored after a while.

Virtua Fighter does seem interesting, and I would really like to try it out.

I'm not too familiar with Fighter history, but I think it pioneered 3D fighting games. I could be wrong though. And as for my PS3, it hasn't shown any signs of wheezing, but I am somewhat worried that games such as Oblivion and Fallout 3 lag and freeze at times....

I used to play the first Virtua Fighter in arcades. My dad always took me bowling, and then he and my relatives would bowl, I would be in the arcade.

Correct. And it boosted up the series when Virtua Fighter 2 (personal favorite) came out in the arcades back in the days when Tekken 2 was starting to become a huge hit because its graphics at the time has shown the potential of Sega's Model 2 hardware.

Now unlike Tekken, Virtua Fighter (around after 3) became more of a technical fighter because it focus on real martial arts and style. Now 1 was blocky, 'nuff said... but 2 and 3 had shown the graphics high rated at the time. Later sequels became more realistic.

What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!

Huh...how many big releases can fit into "Spring 2010"? Pokemon, God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2...

Yep, I saw.

Sony will be making an announcement at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. I'm hoping for a price cut, PS3 slim confirmation, and some new PSN stuff.

Oh and MAG beta's having problems because a 2 GIG update won't install on some people. My friend who received an invite keeps getting errors while trying to download it, and there's apparently a time limit on when you can play Mon-Fri. Mini-Ninja demo out on Thursday, I think.

K-Mart has a PS3 price drop and redesign ad up on their site.

PS3 Ad

While it doesn't show the PS3 slim, it's hinting at it. We'll find out in a few more hours.

looks like it's real, I guess all that's left is to see what it actually looks like.
