Eagle Eye 5/10

Guh, where do I begin. This movie is a mess. The begin is so inefficiently scripted, ineffectively shot, and the last third of a film is a mess plot-wise, as well as the basic premise for the villain and the power they have in the film being inconsistent. Yeah it's got 3 'in's against it. The acting is okay enough. Michelle Monaghan and Shia LaBeouf do what they can with this poorly scripted blackhole. This film tries to create an atmosphere similar to Hitchcock's film North by Northwest in that it's character doesn't know why anything is happening to him, why he keeps being targeted. But the suspense is no where near that caliber, and part of the problem is that I didn't really care about the characters. The film tries to clip along quickly so as to not give the audience time to keep up or realize some of it's conventions don't make sense or are highly improbable. And although the film had it's far shares of nice explosions I found a lot of the film mediocre. It was kind of like sleeping for a bit and then suddenly loud loud LOUD! It tries to evoke some thoughts on issues of 'Big Brother' and how far that can and probably is going but the only commentary I heard from people around me is 'what?' 'that doesn't make any sense' 'how does that work?' There are other films it borrows from but I can't really say without giving away a 'major'? spoiler. This film isn't really entertaining apart from the problems so I can't even recommend this as a no brainer film to see when it's at the cheap seats.

Speed Racer 7/10

By now you've probably all heard about this film to death, but I figured I'd toss my two cents in there. Before I start I'd like to say that I've never seen a substantial amount of this film. I've maybe seen 10 minutes collectively of the anime and knew about the spoiler in the film from what I saw of the anime. I was never interested. Cars, racing, I don't really understand the allure of watching it other than wipe-outs and car explosions, and if that's you than shame on you for enjoying other's pains tongue.gif. Thusly I didn't bother watching this film in theaters, and from the sounds of other friends it was a good choice.

Having said all that, I was delightfully surprised by this movie on the small screen, and after having seen it I can understand people not liking it because of how overwhelming and hard to make out the racing scenes are. It probably would've annoyed me as much as the mecha fights in transformers mixed with Ang Lee's scene change technique in his Hulk movie combined. But I liked the basic premise of the film. Family. -- A family I wish was without Chim Chim and Speed's younger brother. Gah, I understand it's a partially a kids movie but man are they annoying as hell. They break up nice moments with stupid side commentary, like "Hey kids, I'm just like you, like me! like this movie!"GAH. The car-fu is hilarious and entertaining... the sequences you can make out, and the fighting is funny old school like in those old 70's films karate. tongue.gif

In the end I enjoyed it, now I shall go buy Iron Man. tongue.gif

Constellation - 3/10

Out of all the movies about black couples/families/themes and what not I watched, this is actually the worse. I didn't understand what the hell was going on: Gabrielle Union's character loved a white man during the time of segregation, then years later in the present, she just passed away and now the family (on her brother's side, played by Billy Dee Williams) are having conflict and other issues... and it's like confusing. wacko.gif

This movie is an absurd, stupid, lame, pointless piece of cinematic garbage.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)-3/10
Out of some morbid sense of curiosity I saw this movie and it was everything I thought it would be racist, unfunny and stupid. The heavy handed moral of being yourself and knowing where you come from is a good message but when you stick it to crap like this it just slides off.

I still cry like a little girl when I watch this. one of the, if not the best Disney film out there, a pure classic.

Death Note (Live action, first movie) 4/10

I'm sorry, WHAT? I do realize plotlines would change a little bit to translate to a movie, but jeez! And Light lacked the depth and complexity that we see in the books/anime. Really dissappointing, but the kickass Ryuk gives it more brownie points.

Honey and Clover 8/10

Cute, fluffy, made me wanna paint something.

I like to go out and party, but I do not like drinks served in a femvase (damn fruity stuff... ew), so good ol' beer is my mate. So yeah, I'm also a psychology student, so your mind interests me.

Get Smart: 8/10

Wait...
Did I just watch a movie where Steve Carell plays the main protagonist, and I liked it? Hell yeah!
I really enjoyed Johnny English back when it appeared, and I was hoping this would measure up. Funny spies not sharing a name with a pink cartoon character? You have got to be kidding me... but alas, I am not. When I started watching Get Smart, I expected Steve Carell's spy-wannabe to suck, but he did a great character. While not very funny, it was still an enjoyable movie, Anne Hathaway is hot and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson really isn't that bad an actress (ooooh, I'm gonna get it now) and I can't wait to see him as Black Adam!!! Although I have heard little news about the Shazam/Captain Marvel movie lately. Must have drowned in the awesome hype we get from the DBZ-movie!!

Anyway, a good movie overall. Surprisingly so actually!

KageMusha- 8/10

Good ole Akira Kurosawa brought this film to us, set during the rise of Oda Nobunaga, it centers around the Takeda clan. Very artistic film, (he takes quite a few liberties with history with it) but it shows Samurai feudal life very well. And what he does with colors in this movie is just excellent.

Escaflowne the movie- 7/10

Very brutal version of the shojo series. The music is done by Yoko Kanno, so you know the soundtrack is excellent. For the most part they did an okay job of trying fit the story into an hour and half movie. Animation is top notch.

One of the worst non-Uwe Boll or Paul WS Anderson video game to movie adaptations to date. Mark Wahlberg turns in one of the worst performances of his life in this crapfest, the supporting cast is awful too and as a fan of the games it pissed me off.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 9/10

I would never believe that Harrison Ford will do another stunt movie. But he did it and he still look awesome in his mid-60s! The only gripe I have is the story...

Aliens with the Mayans? Some twist...

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade 9.9/10

Personally I believe this is the best one out of the whole series. Full of action, comedy, and great directing. Probably the last really great film where Spielburg and Lucas worked on together.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull 7.9/10

Neh, decent at best. Hey at least it's no Temple Of Doom. It's a decently good Hollywood movie, but compared to the Indy series, it's a distant 3rd.

Iron Man 9/10

I really liked this movie, Robert Downey Jr performed his part as Tony Stark to perfection.

WORST MOVIE EVER!!!The only Actor in this movie where their acting reputation wasn't totally screwed up by this movie was Siobhan Fallen

Friends With Money- 8/10

I like this movie a lot, it has some great actors in it and it's sort of a nice, realistic portrayal of middle aged life, when you have money and don't have any at all. It's a bit slow, but I think that's what delivers the sort of ambiance that really hits you at the end.

Good Effects. Good Movie. biggrin.gif

Indiana Jones 4 - 8/10

Pretty decent movie, but it's the worst one out of the 4.

Where is the 'pit of nasty things?' Raiders had the Snake pit, Temple of Doom had the insect Trap, Last crusade had the Rats one, and This one has what?
GIANT ANTS? WTF! XD!

It was nice to hear the Ka-BLOW! punches though HEHEHE!!!
