I don't have anything against gay people, lesbian people, or bisexual people. Some of my best friends are all of the above! (I know that sounds cliche, but they are) But I absolutely hate Yaoi. I was doing a comparison for the hell of it, and there are about twenty pages of NaruSaku, but over 87 pages of NaruSasu! makes vomiting sounds. Seriously, the dude stuck his hand through Naruto's chest, and HE WAS NOT TRYING TO FEAL HIM UP! I also hate lack of punctuation. Nothing ruins a story faster for me then reading one long sentence that lacked periods. Unless said sentence has NaruSasu in it. That's worse.

Things that Mildly annoy me: I don't hate these things, so their not in the above catagory. But things that annoy me is when they have english words for the jutsus (Shadow Clone Jutsu) instead of the Japanese words (Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) or the American Version (Art of the Shadow Doppleganger). One thing that also annoys me is when they write the names western style (Naruto Uzumaki instead of Uzumaki Naruto). Just to clarifiy things, I'm american, but I also love dubbed anime and downloaded manga.

Ok, there is far too much plot recycling going on in Naruto fiction. Every Naruto/Hinata basically uses the same plot and it's pathetic. This is fan fiction; you can do just about anything in it. Come up with new settings, plot devices, even characters! Just do SOMETHING different.

My biggest hate for fanfics is pretty much everything about the story "Exiled" on FF.net. I let myself get 6 chapters in before I gave up. I knew better I should of stopped at chapter two when in the authors notes the author says flat out there is going to be character bashing in this fic. Character bashing essentially means I don't like a certain character therefore I am going to take them and the other characters completely out of character just so said character can be ridiculed and insulted. Most authors use the excuse of it being AU, but what is the point of writing a fan fic even an AU fanfic if the characters are not going to be anything like themselves. I see this happen mostly with Sakura. People like to hate on Sakura. She had moments of great stupidity in the manga and show that led to her doing crappy things. However she has never been a total witch without any remorse so why write her that way just to have all the other characters bash on her for it?

There are some that make him "dattabayo" as well, which I think is just as bad. I find dattabayo just as irritating.

Hmm, i dont think "dattebayo" is as bad as "Believe it", and Naruto does say "dattebayo" alot so i can guess you can call it canon

My newest hate is when authors makes an update (yay) just to tell us he/she's dropping the story (booo) because of writers block. What the hell? Why not put the story on hiatus until you find the inspiration to continue?

It's also bad when a good author writes an awesome story, decides to stop and let someone else continue, and that person either sucks, or changes a pairing that's lasted like 30 chapters into NaruHina. That has happened to one of my former favourite ficks (I don't remember what the name was though... repressed memories I guess), and I hated it! Die evil pairing-changer!

There was a volume cover with Naruto making exaggerated letters to the words "U.Z.U.M.A.K.I.N.A.R.U.T.O.D.A.T.T.E.B.A.Y.O". It's probably my favorite manga cover, I think it just gets edited out of the internet translations.

Yep, i hate people who change the pairing in a story too, it gets annoying to see a pairing go from something you like to read, to something you hate reading.

Not to mention the idea that Sakura would just revert to her pre-timskip self after all her character development in the manga is just ludicrous. NaruHina and SasuSaku fans just can't get over the fact that Sakura has grown out of her infatuation with Sasuke.

While i do pretty much agree with you, you have to remember that NH/SS fans usually wont call it an infatuation, they will just call it love, that and they dont think she has grown out of it either, they still believe she is in love with him. Also, i think the worst Sakura bashing comes from alot of the people who love Naruto and dont actually look at why certain things happen in the manga/anime, thats why alot of authors make up stupid scenarios and blatant OOCness, like the crap stories in which Naruto brings back Sasuke from the Valley of the end only to get an ass kicking from Sakura for hurting Sasuke, which then usually leads to being banned from Konoha, oh and Sakura usually calls Naruto a demon after she has slapped him or whatever she does. Very very stupid. *Gasp* How horrible! I'm glad that you've seen the light now. Fics that bash a character for no good reason should be avoided. While I'm not averse to some light Sasuke bashing, (look at the guy...) dedicating a story to bashing a character needlessly is simply stupid.

I do agree that Sakura was annoying during the first parts of Part I with her Sasuke infatuation (obsession?), but she developed over the course of the series and became the Sakura we know and love That's why Sakura bashers are just clinging on to the last shreds of NaruHina they can find, I guess. Which is pathetic.

I usually hate that too, but ironically one of my favorite stories right now did exactly that. Unfortuneately I may stop reading another one of my favorites because of where it is going with Sakura. It is an AU story where naruto was actually a girl under a very strong genjutsu to hide "her" identity. Normally I would stop reading there, but I continued cause despite that the author was keeping the characters pretty to close to what they are supposed to be as far as attitude and behavior and such. Until they got to the point they decided to turn Sakura apparently evil as a result of her jealousy towards "Hikaru" (female naruto) and Sasuke.

I hate Naruto fanfics that excessively cuss. Its really annoying and OOC. Once and a while in a character's speach is fine but to read something like "Naruto walked out of his office and noticed what a f***ing beautiful morning it was," drives me crazy. Its completely unnecessary. You dont need cursing in every other sentence.

I also hate it when there is a conversation between Naruto and Sasuke and all they call each other is baka, teme, and dobe. They have called each other that only a few times. Some authors just totally over use those words.

Naruto is secretly a genius surpassing Kakashi, Sasuke, Neji and Shikamaru COMBINED. But he just hides it along with his emo under a mask because he doesn't want the attention.

Also, I've been noticing this strange phenomenon with Naruto. I call it Super!Naruto or Naruto-sue. Seriously, I've seen like at least ten versions of this "Naruto":

The villagers get all fire and pitchforks on Naruto. Despite the fact that it's a law not to speak of his status. Despite the fact that the ordinary civilian has no reason to know that Naruto has a demon inside him (although I'll let authors decide the extent of the knowledge of the Kyuubi).

Then Kyuubi saves him and they have a talk. Kyuubi offers to make Naruto stronger. Naruto accepts.

The next day, he wakes up and all of a sudden he is "hawt". "Naruto's" taller, his hair grows longer, muscles appear out of nowhere and he's already has gone through puberty. Not only that, but apparently the Kyuubi's chakra has affected his fashion sense. He ditches the orange, for red and black (it's ALWAYS red and black with these "Naruto"). And he decides to get a mask to cover his face up.

He also gets 1000x stronger overnight. And Kyuubi has promised to teach him some badass Kenjutsu, so he also has to get a sword.

"Naruto's" personality also changes. He's no longer the spontaneous ninja whose emotions can get the better of him at times and jumps to protect his people yelling and screaming.

He's now the stoic badass, that can do no wrong.

And to top it all he's almost always hooked up with Hinata, or some other girl except Sakura because Sakura in these stories are stupid weakling kittenes who have the audacity to crush on Sasuke instead of Naruto. All Sakura gets is abuse, because Naruto drops his crush on her overnight for absolutely no reason!

Ugh I hate this Naruto! He's an a**hole and I wish people would stop writing him! I remember reading The Dichotomy of Namikaze Naruto and I tried to like it because it was written well, but eventually it got to a point where the author's Naruto no longer resembled the Naruto I read in the manga. (That and the fact that he's turning Killer Intent into some blunt object to bludgeon all the uppity girls (i.e. Kurenai and Sakura) with...ugh)

I mean there isn't anything I hate in particular, because with different writers come different view points on characters, unless one is Kishimoto, it's hard to write characters dead on, or completely understand theories or events that occur in the manga: it's all interpretation.... some are just very unsuccessful.

Things that do bug me though are ignoring character developement for the sake of getting straight to the fluff WHEN dealing with works that take place during the series or a little bit after. -- Really only then do I get annoyed, because I do love fluff NaruSaku, but as much as anyone wants to deny it Sasuke is an important part of Naruto and Sakura's lives.

When people make Sasuke into a complete monster with no reason, he's a human being like any other, and has different levels to him, and yes I agree he doesn't deserve Sakura for the way that he acts, but he isn't a complete monster.

Okay, I'll try to sum my "fanfiction hates" up so this post isn't super-long.

1. I will read a NaruHina if it's VERY well written... But I despise the fanfics that COMPLETELY erase Sakura from the series just to make it a NaruHina. I mean, she's mentioned a couple times but she's just not there.

2. Or, the ones where they make Sakura a total jerk, who always insults and hurts Naruto. Every chapter, "YOU IDIOT! I HATE YOU!" DX It pisses me off to a whole new level.

3. OOCs that aren't labeled as such. Like what was commented on before, Naruto magically changes in body, mind, and everything overnight. Or a super-bold Hinata. Or a laughing Sasuke. Take your pick.

I think this is my biggest peeve.

4. When an OC comes, and they are Naruto's sibling.

How unoriginal can these people get? Oh, and there was this one fanfic I'm sure at least some of you have heard about...

Naruto suddenly has a sister.

This sister has an English name.

She's the container of the Kyuubi's mate.

How utterly convenient.

2. Crack Pairings That Make Absolutely No Sense (Itachi/Sakura? Deidara/Hinata? Pein/Tsunade? Apparently its crack that you people are smoking.)

3. Bad Crossovers (There's a story called "Troika Parallel" that crosses Naruto over with InuYasha and Harry Potter, do I even have to explain how un*bleep*ing retarded that is?)

4. Fanboy/girlism (I don't give a crap how much you like a specific character write a *bleeping* unbiased story!)

and 5. Including Reviews In Your Story (That's really more of a pet peeve than a hate, reguardless I dont like it)
