You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

You were dreaming...he said when he first mentioned it that he can't discuss it. The only other thing he said was that he had more chapters written, but can't post them yet.

I'm a fan! Email it to me...or are you saying you can't do that either?
If you can, PLS send to kenbond007@yahoo.com - I won't post it or spread it around.

That's why I worded it the way I did...the way he wrote it was a little confusiing. If he couldn't do it, then he just ignores it. If he can, he emails it. I just wanted to be sure of exactly he was saying.

Oh and desaix...one thing I noticed rereading Training is that you tend to use 'wall of text'.
The paragraphs would be much better to read if the paragraphs had 4 sentences max. My eyes hurt trying to read some of the longer ones...AN's included.

(For the younger readers, a "record store" was a building that you had to go to when you wanted to buy music.)
(For the younger readers, "buying music" was the way we acquired it, since we couldn't just… you know what, let's just get back to the Bowen song. Stupid kids, you ruin everything.)

Be the Ultimate Ninja! Or Reaper! Or Zombie Killer... or something. Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN!

If someone has or can find a copy preserved somewhere, I'd be quite interested in restoring it... but then again, I'm a little worried about what would happen to my computer if I actually got it back.

Edited to add: I should probably note that the artist of the fan-art appears to have disappeared from the site or changed their name, and I haven't seen them since only a few weeks after getting the fan-art. Seriously,

That really is too bad. Oh well, I hope you can post the rest of the story soon (not that I quite understand why you can't post it, just doesn't make sense to me). Hope things sort themselves out, where you left off at was rather a bad spot (just kind of stops mid event >_<).

I don't know how often you check these boards or this topic anymore, but I just wanted to toss a salute your way. Thanks for the inspiration. I won't deny that Training for the Job is what made the gears turn in my head to start writing Whirlpool Country. I read it a long, long time ago (you can tell by how far down it is on my favorites list) though I have purposefully avoided re-reading it until I'm done with WPC so that I don't unwittingly copy anything.
Your story gave me the idea, and with recent advances in Naruto-canon, I felt I could do a total divergence from your story. The only similarities would be the aspect of making another fort/village.
Ironically, seeing that you put Whirlpool Country on your story alert list at fanfiction.net is what caused me to stop by here.
So... once again, thanks for the inspiration.

We share some vert solid similarities in how we think jiraiya trained Naruto, and in how he would grow in strenght as well as some of the things that may have occured on his training trip.
So thanks a bunch.
I hope ill one day get a review from you on my own stories, and that youll get to update this awesome story somedays oon.
take care.

Glad for the feedback. Keep in mind, Training for the Job would be VERY different if I started it now compared to how it is. Sasuke wouldn't have been given Yuugao to make little Uchihas with, Jiraiya would be dead, Anko wouldn't be his mother and I would have had the 4th's name right, Naruto's technique base would be shrunk down to factor in his apparent lack of learning... well, anything during the Jiraiya training, and his confidence wouldn't be nearly as high (since it seemed the only result of Naruto's journey was a shattered confidence, the loss of his instinctual tactics, a bunch of techniques he'll never be allowed to use again, and a new set of clothes), etc. So, if I think my own fic should be so different it would be unrecognizable if modified for today, I'm fairly confident it's more than reasonable for someone to use some of the same ideas I've had and create a completely different story.

Not just those things either, but there were many other things as well.

Naruto isn't THAT bad...don't forget, he learned Kage Bunshin within hours - with no help - he learned Rasengan in a month with very little help (OK, he can't do it one handed, so what?) - something that took Yondaime 3 years to create and Jiraiya a year or something to learn WITH Yondaime's help.
You pegged it in your story in the scene with Sakura and Ino when Sakura tells her that Naruto is useless at D-Rank missions, but his intelligence goes up the higher the challenge.
Look at what's happening in the manga now...Naruto did better at the Sage Training than Jiraiya, and better at collecting Nature Chakra without the oil than with. The higher the difficulty, the better his chances of learning the technique.

I very much agree... which is why I find it so astounding that he added ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (well, almost -- I suppose a larger version of the rasengen counts as something, but just barely) to his technique base, from what we've seen, in the years he spent with Jiraiya. Strains credulity, that one, so I'm not too happy with Kishimoto about that. If I were starting this same fic from scratch, I'd have to explain that apparent logical inconsistancy somehow.
