That Boku no Hero Academia greatness!!!! I think with this recent chapter, Shouto Todoroki has become my favorite character, followed by Deku, an then All Might (Still waiting to see which. three girls- Ochako, Momo, and Hatsume- I will like the most. I admire that Shouto is not using his father's quirk out of such a noble reason- well, at least that is one of his reasons. He knows that he is not his father's tool. and Deku I showing one more time his resolve to not disappoint his supporters. And to make that entire conversation b/w Deku and Shouto perfect, Katsuki was there to overhear the boys. I feel like we have out Holy Trinity in this series now XD Ugh, I hate both of Shouto's parents. Mistreating parents and marriages as a result of professional reasons- I'm shocked to see something like that, but it makes sense.
EDIT: LuckiChi7 reminded me of something I forgot to mention:
Shouto:" Are you All Might's illegitimate child?"

I am too actually that really surprised me when I got to the flashback especially when it came to why half his face was scared if that's the right word to use. I gotta say worst father of the year has to go to Endeavor for obvious reasons.
I said in the video, but I actually love what Bakugou did in this chapter. Even though he was just easedoping on the conversation just by seeing his facial reactions I get a feeling that he won't become like Darth Vadar and go to the darkside lol.
Also the idea of having 3 rivals with the same goal but for different motivations is really fascinating because I'm sure Bakugou more than ever has a motivation to take down Todoroki then he did intially. Is it just me or does it look like that Todoroki will shift more towards the villian side cause this chapter at the moment looks like it's setting up for future events down the road.
Oh my god. Shoutoooo...my heart is with him now. But he still gives me Sasuke vibes though. I'm scared he's gonna become a bad guy. Sasuke made me have trust issues. Well now for me it's like:
Boys: Deku -> Katsuki -> Shouto and Girls: Hatsume -> Tsuyu -> Ochako
It's such a hard list cause I love Iida and Eiijirou toooo. But yeah this new chapter makes me view Shouto in a different light? But I still feel as though he's more likely to become a villain than Katsuki. Imagine his hatred for his father getting to the point where he'll become a villain just to kill his father. Then we'll have issues.
I could see that actually and it looks like he's wanting to step out of his father's shadow and become his own person which is where I think Todoroki becoming a villain will initiate. Like you said this chapter shows Todoroki in a different light, but I think Kohei is handling it pretty well so far with it I mean 31 chapters in and I can already tell he knows what he's doing. I mean just hearing his insights on the Volume 1 omake was pretty hillarious, trang remembers it. I think we'll probably get some author's note insight from Kohei on Todoroki's creation just like he did with Deku, Ochako, All Might, Bakugou, etc.
But this is also why I'm really digging Boku No Hero Academia right now. Instead of the basic rival x rival we have an entire cast built up on different types of cometition. For me I see it as Katsuki v. Deku v. Shouto v. Iida. Each carry a very different personality with very different reasons. But they all share the same goal. I think, if anything, this is super creative.
Although it kinda gets me wondering what Kohei - The mangaka has in store for Ochako, Mei, and Tsuyu because especially for Ochako she's got something to show but it wasn't the right time so I'm pretty curious as to what that's going to be. The goals for Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki may be the same but the reasons for it are completely different like you said before and I agree it's really creative. It's not for the same reason cause that would've gotten old really fast at this point.
Although there is something that I've noticed, Deku is student of All Might, Todoroki is the son of Endeavor. Those characters are also rivals and the same thing goes for Bakugou, but at this time Bakugou doesn't have anyone to train under. What's interesting is All Might is the #1 Hero while Endeavour is the #2 Hero. So here is my theory I believe that Bakugou is probably going to train under whoever the #3 Hero is that is my guess. What do you guys think?
