Supposedly the colourized rendition was overseen by Kishimoto himself. If it's true then the purple pigment is the canon appearance for Byakugou no In. Tsunade's seal is empurpled as well. A side-by-side comparison would likely show that they're virtually identical in design and appearance. Granted, the veracity of the claim should be questioned since no official statement was ever given that proved Kishi was involved, but from initial impressions what this knowledge suggests is that Tsunade and Sakura's fuinjutsu are the same. God, I hope this isn't true.

sadly underwhelmed by the colour issue, I know they have limited time but it looks more like an american comic from the fifties or sixties rather than something interesting,

 

I am sure the choice of colours can be considered canon since it was published by both Suiesha and Viz (apparently) One Piece was coloured better I am not sure what that says though

We shouldn't look to much into colors, everything is set up for Sakura to have the exact same seal as Tsunade's.

It hasn't been definitively established whether the two seals are duplicate or not. Sakura has yet to release hers or use any jutsu specifically bound to it like Tsunade's Byakugou. Granted, the likelihood of any differences existing is becoming less and less with each of these new developments in the art, but there are a few unanswered questions and characteristics that provide worth to the idea that Sakura may indeed have a technique or skill that Tsunade lacks.

1. Madara noted that Tsunade's technique was reminiscent of Hashirama's. Kishimoto doesn't make these sorts of connections without an underlying meaning already having been established. We actually saw an example of this when Madara was continually extolling Hashirama whilst verbally degrading the Kages, arguing that only this man who had been consumed by a shinigami was capable of defeating him. On one occasion, there was a statement made that he would have resurrected Hashirama if he (Madara) had the foresight of knowing that the current generation would be so weak compared to them. Guess what happened not too soon afterwards? It just goes to show that there is more to these lines of dialogue than meets the eye. Who is to say that Byakugou and Hashirama's Sage Mode aren't related in some form?

2. The marking on Hashirama's forehead that greatly resembles the Haruno crest. Both it and the diamond marking are intended to represent the third eye that perceives the spiritual world in Buddhist culture. Coincidence is more often than not proven to be the incorrect assumption when there is a similarity between character features. An example of this is the symbol of a whirlpool on Naruto's attire being woven onto the standard military garb of Konoha shinobi. It was later revealed that the reason for this was that it was intended to act as a symbol of fortune and good will. Attributes of two things that are seemingly unrelated to each being later confirmed to be part of a single unifying concept that connects them together.

3. Confirmation of Shikkotsurin being the native lands of Katsuyu, the slugs. This was a third location that had been previously mentioned by Kabuto with the same reverence as Mount Myoboku and Ryuchi Cave, two locations where Sage Mode is acquirable. More than likely a third Sage mode exists and it's probably being used by Hashirama. How does this concern Sakura? Well if Kishi is going to allow each Sage Mode to be attained by one person from the newer generations then logically it would be Sakura who acquires it.

You could likely pick up on some other details relating to either Sakura, the seals, Katsuyu, Sage Mode, and/or Hashirama. I'm not disputing that it's probable that she will acquire a unique ability, only that there is foundation from which Kishi may construct on to have her ultimately achieve some unknown enhancement.

Well, I'm going to wait for confirmation in the manga. I looked through Japanese forums, but the translation is just as confusing in Japanese as it is in English! A theory is that the Byakugou seal is the diamond state, and that there are different types of releases. Eh. I will wait and see. 

 

Of course, there is the theory that the Byakugou seal is the state right before the Byakugou jutsu.

since Byakugou seal uses this kanji -> 白

and Byakugou jutsu uses this kanji -> 百

the difference being "ichi" (一), such as one step away from the hundred strength technique.

 

I'm super excited about the next few chapters. I wonder if Obito will wake up into consciousness again?

Madara is way too calm for my liking :/ I don't have any idea of this next trump card of his is.

How will the Moon Eye plan play into this? @_@ I am anticipating.

I can't say that Sakura having Tsunade's Byakugou jutsu sounds all that appealing. It doesn't really help to bring her up in the ranks besides giving her a means to outlast her opponent if she's unable to beat them through her attacks.

I'm sorry, Atheck, but you are being way too harsh on Sakura now. Remember the punch she did against the 50 or so odd ten-tails spawns? We haven't even seen Tsunade punch that hard in the manga yet. The punch generated by the maximum output of her usual chakra reserves which the fountain of energy she has embedded into her forehead didn't actually create?
 

We haven't even seen Tsunade punch that hard in the manga yet.

 
Any other cause for Sakura's larger physical impact on the geography besides not having to expend chakra to maintain a transformation jutsu was never provided.

The difference between those characters and Sakura is that their fighting styles and abilities were the culmination of various training methods intermixed to create something unique. Naruto combines Kurama's chakra transformations with the clone techniques that he learned over the course of the manga and occasionally he uses Sage Mode. Sasuke primarily uses Mangekyou Sharingan but he isn't disinclined to using Raiton techniques or kenjutsu, both are skills he acquired from Kakashi and Orochimaru. Two men whom he learned under during an interval in the manga. Sakura, on the other hand, relies exclusively on the jutsu Tsunade wielded and that is it. Several of them haven't even fully evolved. She's pretty much just a second-hand Tsunade with inferior techniques and feats for the most part.

Some of us wanted to see more from her as she is intended to represent a heroine. Frankly, Sakura's fighting style had more artifice to itself when she was younger. Back then she relied on clone feints and actually outmaneuvering her opponent to acquire the upper hand. She wasn't solely dependent on the rudimentary "punch really hard" tactic she's been using for the majority of P2 since she picked it up from Tsunade.

From what little information we have to go on about their preceding generations, it seems like each clan member develops their own understanding and implementation of the abilities that they inherited into a fighting style unique to them. The InoShikaCho trio is very different strategically and abilities wise compared to what little we have seen of the previous generation. Whether the variations were small or large they existed in some form.

The last time any noticeable differences existed was during the Sasori fight when she was beginning to accurately follow and react to the puppets' movements without Chiyo's assistance. Currently, you can literally make remarkable side-by-side comparisons of poses and facial expressions of Sakura and Tsunade

Sasori and Zetsu were momentary shifts from her usual disposition when fighting. In most combat situations she employs the same tactics as Tsunade.

This is true for both of her fights.
 

Even in Part 2.

There were scattered occurrences here and there throughout P2 where Sakura was either unable to effectively reach her opponent through conventional means or she needed to ascertain the enemy combatant status of a suspicious looking individual. It's generally during these that we see these eccentric tactics used.
 

She's not a tank.

If Sakura acquires the Byakugou jutsu then she will effectively be one. The purpose of the technique to allow the user to battle without the imminent threat of death with regeneration healing any wounds that they would otherwise be unable to mend.
 

She doesn't take damage lightly so already,

Only because Sakura's teammates have been available to rescue her. Without Chiyo's participation in the battle against Sasori, she would have been poisoned by the initial onslaught of needle projectiles. It wouldn't require much time for the effects to take place and she would have been compelled to use the antidotes then and there. Sasuke's Chidori would have impaled her brain and skull, an injury that is probably not manageable even with the Byakugou, without Kakashi's intervention. And with the recent events, the replica would have crushed her or at least caused some damage to her person.

Emphasis on avoidance and analysis during the Sasori fight aside, she pretty much is a clone. Almost everything about her is reminiscent of Tsunade except for her physical appearance and "superior strength".

Most of Tsunade's defining ninjutsu. Sakura doesn't even use clones or replacement ninjutsu anymore.

Oh, it's a possibility. Not looking very probable at the moment where everything going on, but it has more hope of coming to fruition than something like the golden Byakugan or Naruto acquiring the Rinnegan.

Wait, so you are saying that her forehead seal did nothing to add to her power? Okay, then that means her power output is even more than she is letting on since she hasn't even used the seal yet.

So you're saying she has not shown her true full potential yet, which means you are kind of admitting that she might be more powerful than Tsunade. *sigh* You're splitting hairs. Facial hairs for that matter that are so small and thin I am not even sure why you are even attempting it. Sakura uses her fighting techniques too and has trained just as hard to achieve such a thing. If you're going to play this game that Sakura's main strategy is just "punch it really hard" then I could easily just as say that Naruto technique is merely just "Rasengan it to death." The rasengan being his father's technique taught to him by Jiraiya who was taught by Minato, the creator. Everything that you have just said to put against Sakura I can easily use it against Naruto who is just as predictable with his Rasengan spamming. Naruto has become basically the Minato hand-me-down as well. Hell, Naruto only uses Sage mode for 2 things: Strength increase and Sensing. When has he done anything that Jiraiya has done in the same mode like frog techniques.

How about Sasuke who is now spams chidoris (with variations to it) and Amaterasus to death. Yet, unlike Naruto and Sakura has never been seen training once. Barely hinted at with time constraints and all powers he gains are either from the curse seal he once had or combining his eyes with his brother's.

I am starting to think you are a Sakura hater, Atheck, because you put so much hard criticism on her to the point of bashing her. I swear you are and yet, so many other characters are guilty of the same crime that you seem to be forgetting. How about Ten-Ten with the usual "Hit it with every weapon in my arsenal" technique. How about Chouji's "let me grow huge, and crush it to death under massive physical strength." (Yet still nowhere as strong as Sakura's.) Should we do the whole Hyuuga "see the weak points and poke?" Even Hinata is pathetic enough that she just now learned a technique that Neji quite possibly knew way back in part 1. What's that? Twin Lion's fist you say? You mean the technique she only used once and was completely ineffective? All her other techniques are anime-only or only seen in video games. We also never seen any of the other Konoha 11 train and gain theirs. What has Shikamaru done differently in terms of jutsu?

Let's see, who else? Shino? We have seen maybe one technique. Kiba? Two at most and he spammed the first one a lot with Akamaru. Sai? Mario paint extraordinaire.

"Sakura is supposed to be a main character." And she is a main character. She has done 4 techniques (Healing, the Seal (which we have yet to see it's full potential), Strength, and Slug summoning, etc.). Naruto has done 4 techniques (Rasengan (Rasen-shurikan is a variation), Sage mode, and Nine-tails mode (I am including the Bijuu ball in this one because it can only be used in this technique), and frog summoning.) Sasuke has done 6 techniques. (Sharingan, Susanoo, Chidori, fireballs, snake summoning, and hawk summoning.)

I am not gonna count shadow clones because every ninja can do that. It is practically a basic technique that all of them know. This list is greater even because of all the basic techniques, but I will not count them. The difference being that Naruto can create massive amounts of them due to his huge chakra reserve.

You are criticizing Sakura for using only Tsunade's techniques, yet Naruto and Sasuke are using nothing, but techniques they learned from their masters. In fact, some of Kakashi's and Sasuke's techniques are actually techniques he literally copied from other people. (This is why Kakashi is called the "copy-ninja" with only the chidori being an original move he developed.) Like the attack Sasuke learned from Rock Lee.

As I stated above, she has done things even Tsunade did not do and also have yet to see and there are many other Konoha 11 who are far inferior as well. I am gonna poke at Hinata again who again has just learned a technique that she should have learned some time ago, but was too busy oogling Naruto to even perfect it, but Sakura is pathetic in your opinion.

You know what the sad part about all this is though? Despite me ragging on Hinata again, I was happy to see her do something amazing for once that didn't involve Naruto.

I have come to a conclusion that to you Sakura will never be good enough and that is fine, but that is just your opinion and your opinion alone. I am okay with characters using passed down techniques because it means the passing of knowledge. Even Goku used what he learned from many teachers to use against his opponents and adapted many fighting styles for his use. None seem to have a problem with this though.

This is a funny thing I point at at times. Dragonball series has made so many of this flaws that Naruto fans have pointed out and they have cranked them up to 11 on some of them with plot armor and stuff. So why does Dragonball get a free pass while Naruto is judged to the full extent?

That may be true, but this doesn't apply to the generation we are seeing. Sasuke based his whole fighting style on Rock Lee's who invented it. His eye techniques based off Itachi's and other jutsu he has used that are passed down through Uchiha clan basics. We also have the techniques that are based around Orochimaru's and Kakashi's. Nothing Sasuke has done is original. Sure, he might have altered things here and there, but the basic principle is the same. The only thing that is unknown is his sword techniques and where he might have gotten them, but from what I can see he barely uses any sword techniques. Might as well swing around an axe. Trunks from Dragonball has better sword handling techniques, IMO.

We also have Neji and Hinata who again had their fighting styles passed down through the Hyuuga line. Techniques that the Hyuuga have used for years and are very proud to flaunt that fact just like the Uchiha are with their Sharingan. Again, nothing original or special only they created.

Sakura is remarkably young compared to her teacher and yet she is already showing great improvement. Now it may not be on the same level as Naruto or Sasuke but who can blame the normal girl when she is compared to the yondaime's son/Kyuubi's jinchuuriki or the Uchiha prodigy?

 

Even if people aren't impressed with her or think she still isn't showing anything original well just think about her age. She is what? 16? She just finished the seal as well so imagine her in the future, she will surpass Tsunade with flying colors and once she is done learning from Tsunade I bet she will start to learn her own abilities. While Naruto was out training with Jiraiya he didn't learn anything new, it was just a bigger rasengan, something already known by Jiraiya. It wasn't until later that he learned on his own.

 

Sakura hasn't gotten to that part yet, as far as I know she is still the apprentice of the Hokage. Give her time, she will become one of the greatest kunoichi konoha has ever seen.

Alright. I'm not gonna respond to the entire thing. Just what stood out to me personally from you Atheck. 

 

1. Sakura's only had really one big fight in Part 2. In this fight, her whole style wasn't based around Tsunade given she did similar things in Part 1. Sakura analyzed this guys skills. She realized she couldn't take him alone. Whether or not she could of dodged his poison senbou/kunai in the beginning has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I'm saying, she has some of her skills/tactics, but she's not a clone of Tsunade. To be a clone, she'd have to be precisely like Tsunade. In the Sasori fight, she wasn't given she was being controlled in some of it. After this control, she didn't tank attacks. She was careful in her movements nor was she actively throwing herself in the fray to tank attacks.

 

-If you wanna use the fact that she used a explosive tag on herself, well, that was fueled by her previous desire to be of assistance to Naruto and save Sasuke. It was a completely reckless move and I'm sure that wasn't taught.

 

-When she took down the the Kazekage puppet with trickery. The only time she really tanked an attack was when she was attempting to save Chiyo. Even then, it wasn't like she was tanking it just for the hell of it. 

 

After that, she hasn't really fought much since. She tricked Zetsu, took down a summon, and annihilated several Juubi fodder. Not enough to go off of to call her a clone of Tsunade. I don't call her a clone given I've seen some of her Pt 1 characteristics/strategy here. 

 

You bring up Sasuke, and such. Again. How is that relevant to what I'm saying considering she was trying to TRICK him, and he caught on to that. She wasn't going there to fight on equal grounds and tank his attacks so I don't even know why this was brought up. 

 

Another thing I want to say is that it's pure speculation that if she does gain Creation Rebirth, she'll do what Tsunade does. She's not Tsuande. She's not an Uzumaki/Senju so why would she shorten her life so easily when she knows she doesn't have the luxury to do so. That's why I see her learning a completely different technique given Creation Rebirth wouldn't be in her best interest at all IMO.

I don't have a problem with her being reminiscent to Tsunade. What throws me off is how individuals downplay her abilities, and then try to cast her off as a clone thus degrading her since she's not as "_____" as Tsunade. it's as you've noted though. She's a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD girl. She comes from NO clan of kekkai genkai/special ability and what she has now was gained over a 3 year gap. EVERYTHING but poison kunai, and sleeping bombs... It's impressive because it shows how much she can learn in a short period of time. She was learning the seal. Learning about medicines/herbs/ and such. Perfecting her chakra strength. Improving her stamina/evasive skills, and training. You'd think that after all that, she'd only learn about half of this but she learned ALL of this, and now she's definitely Top 5 in her class when it comes to overall stats and what makes it more extraordinary is the fact that she's a normal girl. I'm quite proud of her accomplishments. She gained a larger chakra reserve and this was gained ON HER OWN. She didn't have some beast in her body. No relation to Uzumaki or Senju. She worked for this. She worked for it all, and no matter if she's not as strong as Tsunade or not, her feats are her own. And I definitely believe she'll surpass Tsunade with due time. Lets see where she is in another year or two. I'm sure she'll be close to being the strongest kunoichi if not the strongest of her generation.

I really don't understand something. Sakura isn't from any clan that has special ability or has a monster that can giver her power anytime she wants. She's a normal girl. What she has achieved till now is something not to be taken lightly at all, seriously. Wanting her to do this and that, well, the manga isn't over. She's not going to sit down and smile at the audience !

 

What she's able to do and now the seal isn't enough ? She's not going to learn by herself... It's not magic. Like Naruto and Sasuke, they learned from their teachers many things, and now the seal that Sakura learned from Tsunade is something not liked ?!!!!

 

Sakura won't be a flying ninja with lasers shooting from her eyes cause sometimes I see a talk like wanting her to be like that after a bit. She has shown till now great skills and everyone is amazed by this, and she's not done yet. Yet, with all that glory, there's no satisfaction. Don't be satisfied, that's an opinion after all, but don't forget what some talked about Sakura before she began acting and showing the seal !!! Some were craving for something like this, but as usual there have to be something wrong with what Sakura did cause why she didn't do this and done that.

 

For the matter of Sakura, everything is possible with what she could do with the seal. By the way, no offense if anyone is offended, but it's really getting old with the same talk about Sakura. Just see what the manga still holds for her.

Wait, so you are saying that her forehead seal did nothing to add to her power? Okay, then that means her power output is even more than she is letting on since she hasn't even used the seal yet.
 

So you're saying she has not shown her true full potential yet, which means you are kind of admitting that she might be more powerful than Tsunade. As I said, we have not seen Tsunade punch that hard in the manga even with her seal activated. Which means, using the logic you provide, since we haven't seen her do it, then she can not do it.
 

*sigh* You're splitting hairs. Facial hairs for that matter that are so small and thin I am not even sure why you are even attempting it. Sakura uses her fighting techniques too and has trained just as hard to achieve such a thing. If you're going to play this game that Sakura's main strategy is just "punch it really hard" then I could easily just as say that Naruto technique is merely just "Rasengan it to death." The rasengan being his father's technique taught to him by Jiraiya who was taught by Minato, the creator. Everything that you have just said to put against Sakura I can easily use it against Naruto who is just as predictable with his Rasengan spamming. Naruto has become basically the Minato hand-me-down as well. Hell, Naruto only uses Sage mode for 2 things: Strength increase and Sensing. When has he done anything that Jiraiya has done in the same mode like frog techniques.
How about Sasuke who is now spams chidoris (with variations to it) and Amaterasus to death. Yet, unlike Naruto and Sakura has never been seen training once. Barely hinted at with time constraints and all powers he gains are either from the curse seal he once had or combining his eyes with his brother's.
I am starting to think you are a Sakura hater, Atheck, because you put so much hard criticism on her to the point of bashing her. I swear you are and yet, so many other characters are guilty of the same crime that you seem to be forgetting. How about Ten-Ten with the usual "Hit it with every weapon in my arsenal" technique. How about Chouji's "let me grow huge, and crush it to death under massive physical strength." (Yet still nowhere as strong as Sakura's.) Should we do the whole Hyuuga "see the weak points and poke?" Even Hinata is pathetic enough that she just now learned a technique that Neji quite possibly knew way back in part 1. What's that? Twin Lion's fist you say? You mean the technique she only used once and was completely ineffective? All her other techniques are anime-only or only seen in video games. We also never seen any of the other Konoha 11 train and gain theirs. What has Shikamaru done differently in terms of jutsu?
Let's see, who else? Shino? We have seen maybe one technique. Kiba? Two at most and he spammed the first one a lot with Akamaru. Sai? Mario paint extraordinaire.
"Sakura is supposed to be a main character." And she is a main character. She has done 4 techniques (Healing, the Seal (which we have yet to see it's full potential), Strength, and Slug summoning, etc.). Naruto has done 4 techniques (Rasengan (Rasen-shurikan is a variation), Sage mode, and Nine-tails mode (I am including the Bijuu ball in this one because it can only be used in this technique), and frog summoning.) Sasuke has done 6 techniques. (Sharingan, Susanoo, Chidori, fireballs, snake summoning, and hawk summoning.)
I am not gonna count shadow clones because every ninja can do that. It is practically a basic technique that all of them know. This list is greater even because of all the basic techniques, but I will not count them. The difference being that Naruto can create massive amounts of them due to his huge chakra reserve.
You are criticizing Sakura for using only Tsunade's techniques, yet Naruto and Sasuke are using nothing, but techniques they learned from their masters. In fact, some of Kakashi's and Sasuke's techniques are actually techniques he literally copied from other people. (This is why Kakashi is called the "copy-ninja" with only the chidori being an original move he developed.) Like the attack Sasuke learned from Rock Lee.

As I stated above, she has done things even Tsunade did not do and also have yet to see and there are many other Konoha 11 who are far inferior as well. I am gonna poke at Hinata again who again has just learned a technique that she should have learned some time ago, but was too busy oogling Naruto to even perfect it, but Sakura is pathetic in your opinion.
You know what the sad part about all this is though? Despite me ragging on Hinata again, I was happy to see her do something amazing for once that didn't involve Naruto.
I have come to a conclusion that to you Sakura will never be good enough and that is fine, but that is just your opinion and your opinion alone. I am okay with characters using passed down techniques because it means the passing of knowledge. Even Goku used what he learned from many teachers to use against his opponents and adapted many fighting styles for his use. None seem to have a problem with this though.
This is a funny thing I point at at times. Dragonball series has made so many of this flaws that Naruto fans have pointed out and they have cranked them up to 11 on some of them with plot armor and stuff. So why does Dragonball get a free pass while Naruto is judged to the full extent?
 

That may be true, but this doesn't apply to the generation we are seeing. Sasuke based his whole fighting style on Rock Lee's who invented it. His eye techniques based off Itachi's and other jutsu he has used that are passed down through Uchiha clan basics. We also have the techniques that are based around Orochimaru's and Kakashi's. Nothing Sasuke has done is original. Sure, he might have altered things here and there, but the basic principle is the same. The only thing that is unknown is his sword techniques and where he might have gotten them, but from what I can see he barely uses any sword techniques. Might as well swing around an axe. Trunks from Dragonball has better sword handling techniques, IMO.
We also have Neji and Hinata who again had their fighting styles passed down through the Hyuuga line. Techniques that the Hyuuga have used for years and are very proud to flaunt that fact just like the Uchiha are with their Sharingan. Again, nothing original or special only they created.
