Just re-read the chapter ... I realized I over-reacted. Hinata's speech seemed to fall under the lines of a pep talk. Which is actually really good, since Naruto was always one to do that for her. Her touching his face was definitely a sign of affection but Naruto mostly showed shock and gratitiude at it ... he wasn't blushing or anything (Which yeah, seems out of place in a war but still). It definitely boasted NaruHina's chances but Naruto didn't show very much romantic feelings for her ... however the hand-holding could qualify as romantic but it was to give her chakra, am I correct?


However, if Naruto goes back to ignoring Hinata like he usually does ... then it's proof that it was just for Naruto's and Hinata's character development. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm a bit worried but I have more of a clearer head now. Plus, what about Sakura's expression? That's gotta mean something, right?

If NaruHina got something as prominent as this, NaruSaku's next moment will be so badass it will troll NaruHina's moment completely. Just like the Pain arc. Remember the Pain arc, NaruSaku shippers!

I'm definitely not as sure of Kishimoto as I was before this chapter was released ... I still don't know what the hell he's doing anymore. My faith in him is not particularly high. Plus, I'm angry that Hinata stole Sakura's spotlight. That is just bullsh*t.

But I'm trying not to fall completely fall into a blackhole of shipping angst. Keep hoping, keep hoping. No one can say for sure if NaruHina is canon. It all depends on how Naruto treats her afterwards. Still upset as hell though.

Just remember, it ain't over until there's a kiss or explicit dialogue saying "BBY WILL U B MY WAIFU" followed by "AW YISS BBY I THOUGHT U'D NEVER ASK". Or the zombie apocalypse comes and we never find out. BUT STILL.

No, I'm pretty sure there are things that can be used in defense. Not of the chapter of course, because that is a perspective on the micro level. If you look at the big picture, however, there are plenty of things that could be used in defense of our ship. Not to say that N/H didn't shine this chapter, because it did, but a good majority of it was character development, and that is a fact that no one can deny. I should correct my stance, actually: it's definitely a N/H moment, but whether it's romantic or platonic will remain a question until the next chapters provide a solid conclusion.

Exactly. Nothing's set in stone yet. I don't think any of us should entirely lose hope until something more definite shows up. But that doesn't mean we should be in denial about it. NaruHina is a threat to us now. This chapter made it clear. And as Codus N said, we can't be in denial about that. It makes us no better than some NH/SS fans about the NaruSaku moments. I know it was a NaruHina moment. I realize it's importance. I am grudgingly, painfully, angrily fully aware of that.

I don't see the point of denying it. But I also don't think any of us should lose hope entirely.

Kishi and his logic.... I thinks he ruined everything... At this rate I thnk the purpose of the last movie (ROAD TO NINJA) was keeping us happy for a little.

It happened a thousand times, and it will happen again, Kishimoto gave this big naruhina moment to please their shippers, and then a couple of chapters later he will give an big narusaku moment for us. Then here you go, that's gonna be the best part! After all said and done, you know what is going to happen? NOTHING! That's right, Naruto and the girls will act like nothing happened, and life will go on as usual with each of them holding their one sided crush on each other like the events of the previous chapter never counted for anything, and that, it's what pisses me off the most. There is one thing I want to point out,
1- Is thanks to you that stayed at my side. Naruto. Sadly that is false since Kakashi and Sakura are the one who always stayed at his side, so because of that I can say that Kishi might of change his mind about the pairing since he have Naruto say something that contradict his own story.

2- More importantly, Hinata was fan girl ling, she made it seem like she finally had her trophy.

Again either Kishi changed his mind and start to force NH on us since Hinata has never stayed at his side more like stalking him or he wanted to show us that there isn't any genuine affection or romantic atmosphere between Naruto and Hinata, lastly Sakura chocked expression, she didn't smile, Kishi didn't show us her thought and he didn't need to show her that way and then keep it in suspense.

Big boos for NH let see what happen between Naruto and Sakura next.

I didn't read all the posts but I see a lot of people are giving up and I think that's the good attittude to have, don't get me wrong I'm not saying NS is dead I still am sure it's the canon pairing and Sakura's reaction is a good indicator there's more to come for NS it's just that I don't care about it or almost anything Naruto related because the writing is getting lower with each passing chapter and this chapter is just one of them. Hinata giving Naruto a lesson, Naruto still not being able to deal with people's deaths, Obito almost being able to TNJ Naruto, gotta say the characterizations in this manga is just awful and if I can't relate to the characters then I don't care about the story that's why I see no value in NS being canon anymore I just want it to happen to see one of my long term predictions happen.

I just don't get this argument that Kishi does that to please shippers, shippers are a tiny proportion of the Naruto fandom Kishi won't care if they stop reading especially since most shippers are american and these people tend to read the manga for free, Kishi doesn't have a lot to lose if they stop reading his manga most Naruto readers are young male who care not one bit about pairings.
It's just the whole Tobito ordeal all over again first it's obvious it's Obito then it's revealed he's Madara while he still keeps his mask and then he reveals he's Obito, the problem is that he tried so hard to misdirect people he ended confusing himself, the whole Tobito reveal destroys Naruto's timeline. What we are seeing is Kishi's usual modus operanti.
Altough I do agree with you and the characters may forget it as if nothing happened I think this time things will be resolved more or less, not everything of course you have to keep the pathetic drama afloat for Kishi to keep writing.
