I said to myself to wait until the movie's first week. Now it's reached its first week and its rating is 2.8~   So I conclude it myself: it's not a good last movie, it is even terrible. But btw, how's it from profit/budget/income pov? Idk how to call the movie as success from that pov.
 
Which for me it "touches" pairing matter also. If they don't want Naruto becomes a scumbag, Kishi should make Naruto ends up with Sakura since there's no big development between NH.

 

Which would be good for us, however a large amount of the complaints is not against the pairings Kishi made which means he and WSJ won't see it as something that needs to be fixed

I agree. There was nothing wrong with Sakura, even in 693. I hated to see her illustrated crying again, because it's such a passive role for her. (In general, I hate all both Naruto and Sakura's attittudes towards Sasuke. So seeing her crying was just another in a long list of scenes I wish were done differently.) But her words did put an end to SS and introduced the idea of a familial love where, as Kakashi said, she loved him in the past and now cared only about his wellbeing. This was reinforced by Sasuke seeing the team and remembering his family.

 

(And don't feel alone, in Kishimoto's eyes, both you, me, and Kakashi were wrong!)

 

But when you think about NH happening the last two chapters of the manga, it just seems to be so pointless. Why ruin the development of the whole manga? Why tout NH in the last two chapters, only to make her a passive side character again in the next series. Would it have been that different if it had been Sakura instead of Hinata? 

 

- Well, for starters, they wouldn't have been able to have that gag-fest of a movie about a damsel in distress. It would have had to revolve around Team 7 or some other villain or threat.

 

- Naruto would have been happier in the epilogue. Sasuke's life wouldn't change that much. (Yes he has a child in the village, but it's not tied at all to his goal of rebuilding his clan. So I feel like he could take it or leave it.) He would still be a traveling shinobi.

 

- The next series could still revolve around the children, but instead of it being a straight reboot of neglected children in a peaceful village, the writers would have to work on an original plot.

 

Anyway, other than generating some buzz about his ending, there's no good reason for inserting Hinata as the lead girl/pairing. They even had to jump through some hoops to make it happen, namely killing off Neji. Because after the movie's over and the new series starts, Hinata's going back to the lurking in the background. 

 

So much good stuff here, Tricksie. You are so right in touching on the inexplicable NH ending. How many fans are casual enough that they just read the manga, or just catch the anime without really delving into all the options and movies. They're not going to watch The Last. They'll see 699/700 and be totally confused. And the premise, based on what we've seen, it looks awful.

I don't think I'll ever understand how Kishi could cast aside 698 chapters and present that perversion of his manga to close it out.

You know a friend of mine from work asked me how I would describe Part and Part 2 of Naruto in less three words. 

 

 

 

for Part 1 I said "A Spectacular Masterpiece." 

 

 

For Part 2 I said, "Missed Opportunities."  

 

 

 

My reasons behind this was Part 1 had everything you asked for. Each individual character had moments to shine aside from the main cast. The story arcs were much interesting, and the more you read Part 1 the more you wanted to know what happened. The Naruto and Sasuke Fight in Part 1 even to this day was much better than in Part 2. Plus you had characters having legit developments and a great set up at the end for what's to come next. You see Naruto getting development, and Sakura slowly, but surly grow from her fangirl state to accepting Naruto for who he is. Sasuke too because he was starting to let go of his revenge and stay in the village, and ultimately realizes that it's not gonna work after facing Itachi. Part 1 in my opinon had great progression in not only story telling, but also for great character development too like I stated earlier. 

 

Now for Part 2 it had great moments, but it had things that could've had a lot of improvement. In my opinion I would've liked if each arc in shippuden had Team 7, but mainly focus on different teams to showcase what they are made of. A good example of this was after the Sai and Sasuke Arc we had the Hidan and Kakazu Arc.  In the Sai and Sasuke Arc it mainly focused on Team 7 with Yamato and Sai added to the mix, and the following arc (Hidan and Kakazu Arc) you have Team Kakashi there, but it's mainly about Team Asuma. If that was the layout Kishi went by then I would've enjoyed it more because you have one arc focusing on Team 7 the next arc on Team Kurenai, Team Asuma, or Team Guy, and the one after that on Sasuke.  Hinata would've probably had a much better character arc in Part 2 just like in Part 1. We could've even Sakura get an entire arc focused on her and maybe with her parents and I would've been satisfied like wow. However Kishi just stuck to the format of Naruto Arc then Sasuke Arc, and it was a back and forth process.  Finally I'm always gonna say this, but I feel like The Naruto and Sasuke Fight should've happened at The Five Kage Summit.  All that needed to be done was exclude Obito saying "commence for war." While Naruto and Sasuke are having their final battle, Kakashi and Sakura fight off against Tobi and it is that fight when Tobi's mask and Obito's face is revealed. However that isn't what we got and quite honestly in Part 2 I found some arcs to be rather boring like The Rescue Kazekage Arc (First Arc of Part 2) I didn't really enjoy it all that much. It had great parts to it, but at times I was like eh...  and The same thing goes with Five Kage Summit  due to Team 7 drama. Plus I was like Naruto you're the hero of Konoha act like it and learn to put your foot down for once.  Over all though I can gladly re-read Part 1 and not even have the thought about Part 2.

I wonder if the naruto franchise will be killed off here. There's so much damage control, and all SP has to do is change the pairings, ofcourse they'll have a hard time making that happen at this point since they spent so much time trying in vain to justify NH and if they go back now NH and SS fans will start a riot and they dont want that

They're not going to change the ending. I think they'll stick it out with the path they've chosen. It's too bad they put too much time, effort, and money into trying to convince people that NH was a justifable pairing, but it failed horribly and I hope they realize the huge mistake they've made though I still doubt they'd change the ending regardless.

You didn't like rescue the kazekage arc? It was such a good arc. Mainly because of the Gaara and Sakura fights.
Plus we got Sakura discovering Naruto as a jinchuriki and worrying for him

LOL Funny...but also sad. My dad being a prime example. He's passed out in the snow before, and in a trashcan once and his drunk family left him there for the night...( all before I was born thankfully) and done a kitten ton of other stupid stuff drunk. 
I'd rather not get to that level lol.

You sure about that? I mean the movie surely made a lot of money. I haven't checked the numbers recently, but I assume it's still doing well.
