There's another FT light novel that just came out written by a different author, but with Mashima providing the illustrations. And well, apparently the author decided to adopt the popular trope of "future kids visiting the guild". Now, whether it's a good deal better than most fanfics on FF.net remains to be seen as no one's translated it in full yet.

The author chose Gajevy kids. There's quite the reaction from the fandom, though I suspect the entirety of the fandom would have a nuclear meltdown if it were NaLu kids instead.

Doing the latter will do what you said but it would be best to save it and just do the side characters getting this treatment. That said what's the story behind that? Pretty curious.

Didn't he give them enough good moments anyway? Took out their old master? Kishi would never allow that. He would make them get lucky like the master purposely let himself die, or the protagonist just come back and end it. So I'm fine.

But you know, as much as I do enjoy these fights since it actually requires teamwork and clever use than just say "No! My friends! New power and strength out of nowhere activate" they need to bring the fear to the atmosphere, which is one part they are missing. Now, it looks like that's the case. More of this to show the war isn't easy as these guys like to hope.

Wow....that sounds like a harsh chapter, If all the spoilers are true Hiro is saying except FT all the other guilds are useless. Afterall this Guild did finish second in the games, and they appear to have been beaten by foot soldiers...though it could be a troll, who knows.

I wouldn't go that far though FT should be getting knocked around soon. I mean while they do get involved in all fights, they do with others. it hasn't gotten to that Naruto Jesus level yet but we'll see how it goes down from this road.

Yeah for sure at this rate Saber Tooth is gonna look like a bunch of losers despite doing so well before. Sting and Rogue get a low enough rep as is among fans

Uh, Do you feel this week's chapter was only for a shock factor? It's interesting, but really poorly set up and again having both Mermaid heel and Sabertooth taken out is pointless Melodrama cause we don't see any of the other guilds losing that badly. Plus this is REALLY undoing that speech Sting was saying about rebuilding Sabertooth into a proper guild. Yes, they are shaping into a group that would care for each other but at the same time, all this poor performance means that they did not disprove Jiemma's philosophy which is poor taste.
