If they did, they wouldn't be selected to work on it. They probably been informed that SS happens and given an understanding of the characters. So it will probably be what therece thinks SS is, Sasuke has feelings for Sakura but doesn't like showing it; instead of he honestly doesn't care for her.

At best, it will just be part 1. As in, Naruto has a crush on Sakura, she has a crush on Sasuke, and Hinata is unimportant. Most likely, it will be nH/SS with the turtles pushing/helping Naruto with his girl troubles with Hinata.

Have low expectations going in, so you are pleasantly surprised if they are not the case. Fantasizing about the ideal situation for a corporate cash grab like this will only lead to disappointment.

.... It's a good thing I don't read American Comics then

Not many do now a days. How I understand it, after the 2000's they had lost many of the greats, and were left with mostly the mediocre who were living off the legacy of their betters. Then, comic movies took off, so you had a lot of nobodies try to use comics to worm and weasel their way into Hollywood. They couldn't come up with any interesting characters or stories. So, they just went "famous comic book character but now a minority." How that turned out? Well, Disney MCU is trying to adapt those now, but they never made any story or backstories for their new legacy characters. Just, "famous comic book character but now a minority," and hope that would be enough.

Both MHA and One Punch Man were very important for transferring many the lingers dissatisfied comic fans into manga fans.

In other news... Robert Downey Jr.  is gonna play Dr. Doom. I love RDJ, but Dr. Doom?

Hey, he only has to do one movie and after that he can just do the voice acting.

This is also likely do to a combination of lack of famous actors to play the role and the ones available/willing to. Disney hasn't really been producing hits recently. Star Wars is pretty much a black mark on your resume with only years wasted, Pixar isn't what it used to be, people are getting sick of the live action adaptions, they can't even do a classic Disney princess story right anymore, and the MCU -barring a few movies- was done with Endgame. For example, Disney was desperate to get Jenna Ortega* to take on several roles and even built movies around the characters they wanted her to play, and she told them, "no, working with Disney would be detrimental for her career at the moment."

*From what I understand they: wanted her to be the lead in the next Pirates of the Caribbean replacing Johney Depp's star power, they wanted her to be a major MCU character leading the next three phases, they wanted her in Star Wars, she was suppose to be in a Pixar movie with a character based off her, they wanted her to voice a new Disney Princess and/or they wanted her to be one of the remaining Disney Princess in a live action adaptation. She turned down all of those.

The only comic books I officially read are Sonic the Hedgehog IDW series, as of now Sonic Team and SEGA considered the stories as canon to the games, although Frontiers and Superstars content hasn't shown yet, and UDON Capcom content, despite how inconsistent it is, especially with Street Fighter and Darkstalkers.

Recently, I started reading other stuff. Right off the bat, I enjoyed the recent John Stewart Green Lantern comics from DC. On the Marvel side, I'm currently reading the Spider-Men (Peter and Miles), Miles' own comic, and some selected X-Men, like Kwannon as Psylocke II. I'm definitely going to read the upcoming new X-Men that has Rogue as the leader along with Gambit, Wolverine, Jubilee and Nightcrawler as her teammates. Disney released a semi-sequel comics for Hercules and I'm liking the story so far.

And now, TMNT is definitely getting traction and I'm hearing the spin-off, The Last Ronin, which has:

The Last Ronin synopsis
announced that there will be a video game and a possible TV/Film adaptions.

But, I can understand many people are not reading regular comic books nowadays because everything would either changed, retcon or get very weird.

I regards to comic book and manga sales. I'm not entirely trusting those that are saying that comic are losing to managa because of the "woke  agenda", because those type of people have agendas themselves.

So I went and tried to find someone that rather neutral when it comes to the topics of manga vs comic or woke vs anti woke, which lead me to comicstorian with these two videos.

The first one here explains that while managa is on the rise, marvel and dc still have the highest market share even if they have gone down a little bit due to ruse if over comic companies like image and idw.

Graphic novels are more on the rise over units sales and manga counts as graphic novel sales, as they don't sell single issues in the USA. Which as a result manga like my hero academia counts as one series comic to individual comic series on one character, but add all the series for a  charater like say like batman he outsales my hero.

Though manga is selling better in Japan than comics in the USA, but comics aren't as dead as people me them out to be.

Here is the link to the video that explains it better than me
https://youtu.be/myX...9_ykeWOgROYUjt1

This video is a follow to last in response to some arguments. Like comic book stores closing and how some individual shops closing does not mean comics as a whole dying or that some have more manga volumes on the self rather than comics ignoring how comics and manga aren't exactly sold the same way in the USA. Also how some modern art for comic arenmore inspired by Japan just means that art is more diversifying in comics rather than Japanese art style taking over.

How comic individual sales have become more harder to track after the pandemic. But also explains that manga are selling better in local comic shops than comic is due to some things like manga series being more easier to track than certain comic stories when customers don't know which continuity they belong in. Also that managa has their animes to promote them. Which comicbook companies don't really market some of their stuff properly like manga do with anime. Though the xmen 97 comis might due well due to the show.

Personal fir me I'm enough images transformers and ultimate marvel line coming out, as the morden spiderman has gone to the toilet with zebb wells run.

Now as for Disney last year wasn't a good year for them for the 100th year anniversary, with only really gaurdians of the galaxy volume 3, loki season 2 and that Disney special celebrating 100 years of Disney doing well.

But for this year so far I would say they are doing well with films like inside out 2, kingdom of planet of the apes and now deadpool & wolverine all have currently made it into the top 10 highest grossing films of the year, with inside out 2 currently the highest grossing film of the year making 1.5 billion at the box office.

The only real failure so far is the acolyte which has divided star wars fans once again, now I don't know how Disney will react to this bit I guess it depends how the other show does this year that's coming out.

For tmnt x naruto crossover, I think they might try to skip the romance just because it problematic. For sakura I could just see them making her interact with April O'Neil.

Many people believe that Western comics are limited to Marvel and DC publications. However, there are other publishers and a variety of genres available. This limited view leads them to think that the Western comic market is small. Although it is not as large as the Japanese market, it is sufficiently broad to allow these major publishers to achieve significant profits.

And it is difficult to know about sales because now there is the digital medium, which has been gaining ground in the US, Japan, Korea, and other countries. Just note that when Kimetsu made a huge impact in the physical media, people found it incredible because, up until that moment, the physical media market was declining.

Another point is that Japanese manga has a consolidated animation industry that helps sell their manga, while the Western animation market died in the 90s.

And Japan has been gaining competitors, such as manhwas, which are popular for their artwork, ease of reading, and novelty factor. Additionally, they have the marketing of live-action adaptations via K-dramas (which have become quite popular in the West), C-dramas, and animations.

The boys and invincible should be seen as proof of the larger comicbook variety. Also to an extent the walking dead though that show didn't really remain faithful to the comics

I mean with regard to american comics the stories of dc having the creators of popular characters like batman and superman sign away their right to what they made is ridiculous to me...

As for the Acolyte disney's greed combined with the staff at lucasfilm has created a canon story with the jedi as the baddies and the sith as the saviors fans should be beyond divided (but hey orochimaru got a pass and naruto fans stick it out anyway when will we learn). With the naruto crossover I'm not sure it'll go into romance either but i heard something about those naruto episodes they announced last year being made this year or next year so funny how they can crank out boruto but they want to "maintain quality" with naruto even if it means delaying for over a year.

https://thatparkplac...g-about-the-ip/

Rumor: Lionsgate’s Live-Action Naruto Film Is “A Complete Disaster” With Producers Not Knowing “Anything About The IP”

A rumor claims that Lionsgate’s long-gestating live-action Naruto film is a “complete disaster” with producers not knowing “anything about the IP.”

This rumor comes from Matt McGloin at Cosmic Book News (https://cosmicbook.n...-movie-disaster), who shared that his insiders informed him the film is “a complete disaster” and it is “on the level of Dragonball Evolution or even as bad as what Lionsgate is doing with The Crow reboot.”

McGloin added, “Those who are working on Naruto don’t have a clue in the world. It’s so bad that those working on the movie don’t even know who the villains of the character are, yet they’re developing the movie.”

They’re just developing Naruto to take advantage of the built in audience but don’t know anything about the IP and don’t respect the source material or the fans,” he stated.

Lionsgate has been developing a live-action Naruto since 2015. Dave McNary at Variety reported at the time that Michael Gracey was going to direct the adaptation and Lionsgate was in negotiations for the film rights to the Naruto series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.”

At the time of this initial announcement, it was revealed Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad were producing alongside Erik Feig, Geoff Shaveitz, and Kelly O’Malley.

More recently, Borys Kit at The Hollywood Reporter in February noted that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton had boarded the film as director, writer, and producer.

Kit noted that both Arads are still producing, but they are joined by Jeyun Munford, Emmy Yu, and Jeremy Latcham now.

Lionsgate also secured a glowing statement from Kishimoto who said, “When I heard of Destin’s attachment, it happened to be right after watching a blockbuster action film of his, and I thought he would be the perfect director for Naruto.”

“After enjoying his other films and understanding that his forte is in creating solid dramas about people, I became convinced that there is no other director for Naruto. In actually meeting Destin, I also found him to be an open-minded director who was willing to embrace my input, and felt strongly that we would be able to cooperate together in the production process,” he added.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson also commented at the time, ““This manga classic is beloved by millions of fans all around the world, and Destin has delivered a vision for the movie that we believe will excite that massive fan base as well as those who are new to it.”

He added, “Avi and I have had the pleasure of working together before and I know that as we collaborate with Destin and the team on Naruto, we are in extraordinary hands.”

If true.

Guess Kishimoto trusted Hollywood, he is a fan of Hollywood movies, and didn't keep an eye on it like Oda. Problem is most Hollywood hates Japanese entertainment and blame it for them losing viewers. Since they are not going to self reflect.

I'd say karma if it's true :lmao: If not, god speed, I'm still not watching. Naruto is dead to me. If it works out I want no part of it and if it bombs I point and laugh my @$$ off, so It's a win for me in any case. Because either I'm not gonna support a cash grab soulless franchise that has no substance to it anymore or I watch them get their just desserts. One or the other

It's best to ditch the project and make a live-action series instead like One Piece.
