if you want to be technical, shonen jump alpha is in fact part of the viz website, not to mention the  one piece manga is done by viz, same with the new dub

You're missing the point which is relying on a company to be professional when said company has proven itself to not be is dumb especially if we actually have people here who understand what the context means, whereas people from Viz could just be roughly translating from Bing for all we know.

But I can almost swear that at first they didn't translate it as MP it was different I think SS NH made a sh*tstorm over that ? Also most of the time they are wrong in their trans so that's why this comes as a surprise .

 

Perhaps we shall see still don't have to much faith in them  for reasons stated above by other users .

 

Well he's not as bad as the rest if that makes you feel ok heck he's 100 times better then Sasuke but not enough for my taste no hard feelings  .

Viz is saying that she loves him romantically but Kakashi is saying she does not want to be in a relationship with him and just wants to save him

All we know is that according to Kakashi, (written by Kishi) Sakura doesn't want to be with Sasuke like that. She just want to save him, like Naruto.

i dont think anyone implies that Viz doesn't make mistakes. It's just professionals who have studied this field and gone though university or masters or whatever, logically, have more credibility than someone on the internet whose credentials we don't know about. And I'm not talking about someone specifically, that includes pretty much everyone on any fansite and even translators from manga scanlations.

Translation is more than speaking two languages.

This thread moves too fast. One hundred and fifty-six pages already, at this rate it'll easily pass two hundred before the next chapter.

 

I think there's a little too much overanalyzing going on. KnS said something some pages back about Kishimoto's writing being intended to be looked at as more of a big picture than something that should be picked apart and the pieces carefully examined (sorry, I'm paraphrasing. She said it much better), and I agree. People are looking too deeply into some things and making mountains out of molehills, and twisting things into something worse than they actually are. Honestly, it makes me a little dizzy looking at some of the posts here.

 

I get that people are upset and that this chapter was a curve ball for what most were expecting, but it doesn't do any good to get too work up over it. It's okay to express disappointment and criticism, but after that's done just take a deep breath and find something to take your mind off it for a while. That's what I learned to do when this manga just seemed to keep handing me frustration after frustration.

 

 

I feel that I'm pretty neutral, where this chapter is concerned at least. It hasn't really affected me or my perspective of things the way it seems to have affected others, haven't really thought about it much actually. I'm busy working on my fic for the H&E Anniversary contest and reading Fullmetal Alchemist and Chrno Crusade, so I'm good. 

What about Succor I was joking. I look forward to read that fic for the contest good luck.

Sakura loves Sasuke, but so does Kakashi (he said so himself) just like Hiruzen loved Orochimaru up until his death and Hagoromo just now was talking about Naruto's brotherly love for Sasuke. She doesn't want to be in a relationship with him.

 

imo If she's not interested in being with him she likely loves him in a different way (like somebody loves a family member) and it fits with what Kakashi was saying about her love changing and being different and using her infatuation with him in the past tense twice.

We have atleast 4 good translators on this site one of which we can confirm also went through university with the language and two others who live in Japan.... all of which are unbiased and speak the truth about the context and go out of their way to explain in detail what meaning each word has. All of which Viz isn't doing.

It was translated as present tense. Even though she still loves him romantically, she doesn't want to pursue a relationship with him as Kakashi states. I just wish we can hear all of this from Sakura herself instead of some third party interpreter. i know, my point is viz is not like 4kids, viz has always been much better about this stuff, also you got to remember its been years since those incorrect translations, even critics told them off about it if you didn't know, are you seriously telling me they couldn't have improved and gotten new translators?

Agreed. That face to me shows that she's almost over Sasuke completely.

They shouldn't need new translators. Its a different language not a video game, they either are biased or they aren't.

 

The head of Viz made a big deal out of chapter 615 even asking fans what they think they're kids names will be.....assuming they are professional and legit with all of their translations post-kittening up isn't something we can do which is why our translators here and TakL on NF are far more reliable because they actually are unbiased and don't have any habit of kittening up atleast not as bad as Viz and when they do make mistakes (which are rare and completely minor) they are quick to admit it.
