I remember that time when I read that chapter where kakashi talks about how sakura's feelings toward sasuke changed and I had to laugh because I felt like 'uuups if one ship is now dead then it's ss' and I was thinking about how ss must be pretty depressed..later that day I went to tumblr to see how people reacted and I couldn't believe it. They saw it as pro ss and were celebrating. That's where I once again realised 'don't let them confuse you and ignore it'.
Anyway it's funny because the exact same happened with this chapter. Hahah I was SO confident and happy for ns after reading the chapter and well you know what nh/ss say.

They are in denial as ever.

Well put it this way, if Sasuke do come back, not under Naruto's will, then I doubt it would matter that much. Not like no confession now, because I didn't bring him back. So long he's back, that's good enough. Kind of like save the man from being a monster but still died is good enough. That said it could be possible that Naruto will have to wake up that it's good enough from Sakura. She is the target of the promise. If Sasuke do come back, it will be the worst timing for SS because this bond is incredibly corrupted, it's no wonder Sakura and Sasuke don't interact if it's not mission based discussion. That said it will be backwards if Sasuke comes back, as in it will backfire greatly if Sasuke comes back NOW. That attitude is not changed because Naruto needs to do that. So yes, one way or another, SS is kittened.

Now, if Sasuke don't come back, well anything is up on the air.

Its still crazy how NH fans on Youtube still have 100% confidence that Naruto will choose Hinata instead of Sakura they're also making assumptions saying "Naruto will reject Sakura and go to Hinata"

It never was an issue. I'm only stating to SS. Anyway, I don't know what will he think of it, but that's up to Sakura to reassure that he did the job, so whatever he needs to say, say it now. It's like if I couldn't save my friend because he died but love interest tells me that I did save him because he was going to suffer as a demon form. So you can say Sakura has to tell him that he did the job and she is happy that he kept his promise. But who knows how Naruto would see the accomplishment.

That should be obvious by now that Kishi will milk until the last chapter of the manga (even tough it should be clear which pairing is endgame since long ago), don't except any resolutions before all the team 7 drama is over.

hopefully not, it really wouldn't make sense for them not to be canon by the time the film is released.

Its unlikely Kishi will wait until the end we still need to see them eith an NS family at the end. We still need to see Kishi use Sakura for the "scary mom trope"

He is rushing through the mnaga likes he wants to get this over with.I think that Naruto will propose to Sakura in the manga and they begin dating in the movie
