I know that I'm late on this, but what? It's not proven to be canon? Then why is everyone so concerned about what happens in it? Why all of the NaruSaku-ing if it's not even for certain if this movie will be canon or not? If it's not canon, it won't matter at all in the end, so why get ahead of ourselves here?

Here's the compromise point- the stuff with Hinata and Sasuke personality changes, etc...- pure fanservice silliness- and a chance for Kishimoto to give some types of readers a lesson- that even if Hinata became a yandere type and Sasuke a smooth talking playboy type, that Naruto or Sakura would still actually prefer each other. Tobi Madara is symbolically the readers that wrote him and demanded he change the developing pairing from narusaku to naruhina and sasusaku.

On the other hand the appearance of Naruto's parents and Sakura's parents were things he either in retrospect wishes he had done in the manga but can't now, and something he kept planning on doing but feels like he lost the chance to do. Both those points do have manga cannon meaning for Naruto and Sakura. So I think the changes in Sakura's parents will mostly be cosmetic- her father being a former Hokage and her mom's clothing colors flipping the Haruno clan colors and with three rings instead of one, and perhaps some partial personality changes, but the overall dynamic being similar- a somewhat difficult relationship with them.

It's the level of Kishimoto's involvement in this movie that has us (and other fandoms) so excited about potential NaruSaku and Sakura character development moments - its not technically canon, as in part of the canon storyline, but the depiction of the characters, how they interact with one another, how their feelings for one another are displayed is how the Kishimoto intends for them to be (the ones who are not part of the genjutsu at least). It was stated in at least two interviews/tweets that Kishi has been checking practically every story board for this movie; he compared it to the level of effort/involvement that he has in the manga, and that's saying something.

Only the AU-characters, Naruto and Sakura seem to be perfectly normal. I'm crossing my fingers for NS moments. ^^ There was a few in Shippuden movie 3 and Blood prison novel, when Kishi was involved. Now, he's making the whole thing.

Rather then discuss to death whether or not there will be such development, why don't we wait for the movie to come out? People need to be more patient, if there is something that annoy me is how people start to treat mere speculations as facts. Let's wait to see the movie, so we can make our assumptions.

You have been proven wrong so many times with Kishi latest news, from the plot to many other stuff, but you still firmly hold your mentality even when the creator doesn't agree with you. Ciartha's Post makes sense because that is what Kishi stated about her parents, and about Naruto and Sakura is being proven by Tobi that it was thier desire.
My advice is for you to try fallowing the lates update to avoid been a wrecking force with everyone.

1. Mashima is collaborating with the fillers is because he didn’t want to do the same as Naruto, One Piece and Bleach do with their filler arcs. He didn’t want the animators adding stuff that were of no relevance to the manga at all and that could even ruin the story. I also read that he’s strenghtening the relationships between the main pairings in the anime, because of what is about to come in the upcoming chapters, so that it wouldn’t feel too forceful when it came to it.

2.The anime can be considered canon, since Mashima said he wrote the fillers himself.

this movie is originally written by Kishi. So, it still can be considered as canon if i may say. I'm not really sure, though. Hahahaha.

May I ask how you know that there are NaruSaku moments in the Blood Prison novel? Is it posted online anywhere? I would like to read it if that's the case - the movie bore me, but I wouldn't mind reading Kishimoto's version.

There is a part of Sakura crying when Naruto was stabbed or something like that. When he woke up she hugged sobbing on his shoulder nothing like that happened in the movie version gotta love Pierot for running such a nice NS scene.
