So yeah, I don't remember seeing 500 Days of Summer. I remember Back to the Future, but that's it.

Yeah, I'd rather believe that when it comes to romantic formulas he takes more inspiration in films like How to Train your Dragon. I went to see it not thinking anything great of it but as it went on it really blew me away. The minute Astrid started interacting with Hiccup I immediately thought "yep, she's a tsundere all right".

Actually, I've never seen the movie for myself, but from what my friend described it, it's a very realistic romance seen through a guy's POV. The ending is kind of a downer, though, which is why I've been wary to see it. By making that connection though, it's now understandable why NS' progression is like so.

@codus N: You should see it. It's a really great film that the 3D gimmick didn't even hurt it. It's that good. Animation is awesome and the characters are pretty good, including the dragon. I like the ending. I won't give away, but I was surprised to see they did one thing that I thought kids would find it unpleasant. It's not a huge deal or anything, it's just it's first time for me. I highly recommended it. It's a great film.

No it's not 500 days of summer is about a BETA guy and with his fail relatioship then he make a reflection of all the days he passed with his ex-girlfriend to understand what was wrong on their relationship then he could move on with his life there's nothing about NS there, the movie sucks hard and is boring.

SS romance is built to create tension and angst, which are themes a lot of people are attracted to. That could be the reason as to why SS is so popular among some people, since it gives the opportunity imagine the drama between them. On the other hand, NS is meant to be a more natural and realistic development which is meant for stories that aren't romance focused. And since Naruto related fanfics are probably mostly created with romance as its focus point they probably prefer to use SS since it would have more tension, therefore being more appealing to people who love complicated romance stories.
It is true that among the people who voice their opinions on the internet SS is more popular, but you have to remember that not every fan goes to write what they think. For all we know those on the internet might just be a small portion of all the fans.
Totally agree with what you wrote.
SasuSaku also starts the Shipping Train. A lot of fanfic writers like to throw in 50 couples in their fanfic to attract reviewers. With SasuSaku you can then have popular couples like NaruHina, NejiTen, ShikaTema or ShikaIno, SuiKarin and strangely sometimes KibaKarui.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Hinata has never been shown actually liking Sakura...yet I can't say she has been shown not to like her either...maybe she already knos Naruto likes Sakura?

I'd be surprised if she didn't know. It's not like he ever hid it very well, after all, he is an Uzumaki. That said (kind of irrelevant here), I think in Hinata's confession it didn't really matter what girl confessed to Naruto. I am fairly certain that if Ino or Tenten confessed it would have been the exact same. I say that because Naruto is terrible at sensing how people feel about him, hence why he's easily suprised.

H-How did you know?

But honestly, I find it amusing, Naruto and Sakura depeloment is the oposite of Astrid and Hiccup. While the more competent Naruto becomes, the more Sakura respects him, while with Astrid, the more competent Hiccup becomes, the angrier she gets at him, because of her jealousy.

I love that pic.
About Astrid, the girl has a lot of pride so it's understandable that she got jealous of Hiccup's success. But that was only in the beginning of the film, everything changed when she found out the truth.
But when it comes to the actual romantic development with her disliking Hiccup to then finding more about him which led to actually liking him, I can conclude that such development is very similar to NS.

I agree.
I believe Kishi is a huge fan of bonding and loser rises to the top. Hiccup was weak and a loser to a lot of people. By the end, well you get the picture. I do believe Kishi is a fan of a guy liking a girl who doesn't like him back scenario. Of course, it all change over the story development and yes, the hero rises to the top and awarded (Astrid, peace, etc).

Naruto still hasn't told Sakura he loves her, which I why I believe that will come eventually. I think then is the perfect time to let the truth be told about a certain scene *cough chapter 3 cough*

I think it's very likely that this was the first time Naruto shown feelings for Sakura that were beyond a crush. I really want the truth about this scene to be told before this series ends. Hopefully Naruto will tell the truth about it while explaining why he loves Sakura.
Just a thought, after all it seems only right for the truth to be told. How likely is this to happen though? I still have trouble picturing in in the manga since it seems like it wouldn't quite fit. Not sure if that makes sense but Naruto as a series has never been too romantic.

Dude that scene was just to show up the character feelings and resolves and for comic purpose naruto henge up on sasuke i dont think he will bring a scene from chapter 3.

It's also arguably the scene that cemented Sakura's "feelings" for Sasuke, which is huge considering it wasn't ever Sasuke.

I disagree. I think it was more serious then it appeared.

I agree I long have argued that her "crush" became something more in Chapter 3.Somewhat ironically because Naruto was sitting with her talking to her and trying to understand her, something that Sasuke would have never done.

At the very least that scene establishes that the reason Sakura wanted Sasuke's affection so much was because she wanted his acknowledgement. Since Naruto also struggles to seek acknowledgement that cements his own reason for liking Sakura so much. Naruto finds it appealing that Sakura tries as hard as him to gain acknowledgement.
The way I see it Sasuke will eventually in some way give the acknowledgement that Sakura had wanted from him all along. When that's done then she can finally move away from her feelings for him. Since she got what she wanted from Sasuke she doesn't have to try hard with him anymore, therefore realizing that it was never his affection itself that she wanted.
Or another way it could happen is that even when Sasuke gives her the acknowledgement she wanted she comes to realize that even though she appreciates what he says, now what she wants is to always be recognized by Naruto.
On way or another I think Sakura's resolution with Sasuke will end with him acknowledging her.
