Okay the only one hope for Kishi to make another movie and have decent profits is to completely exclude NH and the family, feature on team seven (excluding the "worst scumbag") and make it an action story. Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru action will probably sell. It's awkward but at this point he NEEDS to replace Naruto with Shikamaru and make a new team seven and give them some smart strategic battles. No Boruto, No Naruto and No Hinata of course.
Does anyone have any ideas how he can make a new movie and still gain some profit at this point?
Kishi has shattered so many different people's interpretation of the manga and their trust in it that I believe he has virtually no avenue of escape left.
The only way I could see him regaining even a tiny bit of the old trust he once had is by getting on his hands and knees, admitting to the fans the actual truth as to why he did what he did, and then beg for their forgiveness.
You could dedicate the entire next movie to the old school Team 7 dynamics with a bit of Taka and Orochimaru thrown in and the reception would still be aggrieved (even the scoring and revenue is abnormally high). Such a harsh violation of trust and respect can't be negated or bought away with appeasement. Kishi needs to demonstrate that he's somehow worthy of receiving the fans' sentiments again.
