Speaking of great weekend, I should have been in my house, preparing for watching international art performance in the city, but I certainly miss that event this year because of this cleaning up process that seems never ending

This mixture is often poisonous and which is why it causes death. Methanol is often called Pseudo-alcohol because it acts like alcohol and its consumption in wrong amounts is fatal. But since its easy to manufacture not to mention very cheap, local dealers mix it with Ethanol and then supply it. This causes death at times...

I guess it is just the part where you live Thailand cannot ban alcohol all thanks to the tourism. If I am not wrong, tourism is a major contributor to Thailand's economy along with rice? Some exotic fruits contribute a major chunk too.

The Chemistry that we are talking about is Organic chem. Organic because it MOSTLY deals with Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen...Nitrogen at times which happen to be the elements which are readily available in nature. Plants, animals, humans everyone have these elements in them and these elements return to the nature when natural/organic things decompose. That Alkane, Alkene, Alkyne comes under the Nomenclature for Hydrocarbons which is used for classification of Carbon compounds
