Well, stopping to think about nobody here really moved on...we're still tied to naruto through this forum and afaik most people don't  want to leave because the commmunity is good

This sales, it was expected...Naruto still has a market to sell and gaiden was obviously boosted by the movie

Unfortunately, there's people that buy that kitten...it's the same with other godawful series like 50 shades and Twilight...

You know, it reminds me of resident evil 4, that cult lost illuminados turn out to be bunch of people already infected with parasite. They starting to act violent killing their own children. They think that is the right thing to do.

 

Maybe those guy is the same, they think violent and abuse is a way to express your love to somebody. Thats why i believe SS fans have mental problem, or maybe they are indeed have been infected with parasite.

Well I want to walmart with a friend of mine and she noticed Volume 71 so I decided to skim through it while we were there (I didn't buy it though), and It wasn't dreadful, but Chapter 686 caught my attention, this was the page we got from the scanlation,  :

Actually i think the voulme one looks better no flashback and a focus on Obito face instead of just of a side.

probably...at least that was the outcome with DBGT...ut then again the views on DBGT were a lot more objective since people weren't blinded by their pairings

 

It's easy to predict that most NH /SS will eat everything that comes from the new generation because their level of alienation is so big that they dont care about story or plot anymore, just for the fact that their pairings happened

 

I wonder guys...would this happen to you too if NS got canon?

Honestly i think everyone who was a fan of the manga is already gone. The ones that are left are more fans of the anime. Now admittedly SP will now have free reign and what ever that causes is something Japanese people will probably see more than us.

So the gaiden sold 600,000 and movie had over 500,000 viewers. Actually this is still in my prediction of 30,000 (i was being an optimist and used the last dvd sales)-900,000(hopefully at best) people going to see the movie.

To some, Most likely yes.
The same could happen with sns pairing fan.
Pairing fan always bias.

Then again, I think it will split narusaku.com in two side just like the old days.
The one who like kishi decision and the one who dislike kishi decision.

I kinda like it too, it just threw me off when I was skipping through the volumes, by the way when Sakura and Obito were talking about how Naruto was giving them  all the time they needed, Obito replied back in the true translations with "You wanna do what you can to help him." or something like that if I see that Volume again I'll be sure to take a picture of that too... 

 

 

 

By the way the little NS interaction at the end of 690 still happened the same way and the Viz translations if I remember correctly it was like this:

 

 

Sakura: "Wait what about us? How are we gonna get out of here?" 

 

Naruto: "Doh!" 

 

 

I'll have to check back on that one too, but I do remember when they came in contact with the Sage of Six Paths.

 

 

Sakura: "Naruto.... who is he?" 

 

Naruto: "That's Sage of Six Paths."

I can see Naruto and Sakura doing that. Naruto being the goofy husband and Sakura the nagging wife. Well not as naggy as Wanda and Marge Simpson.

And this is what happens when you allowed technology into the Naruto world. Now all people are doing is arguing over the petty things that really shouldn;t have existed in the first place. Instead of "How the hell did Himawari get the Byakugan when Kishimoto said she didn't before?" we now have "How are these tools not allowed when ninja use tools all the time?"

Here is a better statement: If Kishimoto actually kept to his guns and not made technology just advance 150 years in the Naruto verse in under 10, then maybe these arguments would not be an issue. I mean the technology Naruto has now....some of it even surpasses real life technology. Devices that can use your chakra to mimic other techniques? How bizarre. It is basically their universes version of a gun and in many ways some see it as a cowards weapon. Compare to our age when we had swords and chivalry to when guns were invented? Although technically archery could theoretically still be used, albeit with a few upgrades.

And this is what has become of the Naruto franchise. From a knuckle headed ninja who was in love with the girl of his dreams and trying to be accepted and not see as a monster to Naruto cutting ribbons for opening a new train system, big screen TVs, interviews with ninja Oprah where everyone get a new jutsu, and technology that allows even the dumbest people to use the most powerful ninja techniques in the world.

It is what I call "swing and a miss" and the worst part is is that most of the Naruto fandom has missed the entire point of all of it due to petty argument and pairing debates. Fans caring more that the kids do kickass instead of questioning how they managed they get all these powers of of nowhere. Byakugan? Sharingan's? Imagine this guy inventing goggles that mimic those abilities.

It's not just destroying the the spirit of Naruto, but destroying the roots of it all. The idea that hard work and dedication can be outmatched simply by technology and that people will eventually become fat and lazy in the Naruto world. Hell, watch Narutoverse looking something like Wall-E in the next 20 years. Is this what everyone wanted?

Why is this tool banned and shouldn't it be a ninja tool as well?

Well, why do people learn archery when we have guns?
Why do people learn fighting techniques when we have nukes?
Why do people learn martial arts at all?

I have a few questions for the Narutoverse....how many still know who Hashirama is and how many still see him as the "Greatest of Shinobi?" Or has technology allowed everyone to do wood release? What about all the history and such? I guess like in the real world, we forget how we got there and things we once cherished now no longer have any meaning.

 

It's just plain ridiculous to watch this series get mired in corruption. Before the friggin trainwreck that is gaiden and this movie the series was much more respectable. We debated and questioned serious issues such as forgiveness, child soldiering, where the justification of environmental factors such as traumatic past events end, genocide of rebellious groups, whether or not Minato was correct in placing a demon inside his son, the political exclusion of sub-groups within the leaf village, the morals of government actions, the role of females in mainstream stories compared to real life and even love itself.

 

But now it's literally all about the fanservice. Who's dating who? What sort of shipping moments did they have? Who's the most sexually attractive? Is my favorite character getting more panel time? Oppai? Oppai? Oppai?

 

How can anyone take this seriously when it's degenerated into a Kittening joke? Look at the Land of Waves arc and compare it to what we have now. In the Land of Waves Zabuza described Shinobi as deadly assassins and tools of their masters. 

 

Now line that statement up next to the fact that in Konoha Hiden Hokage Kakashi assigns a secret mission. A secret shinobi mission to "Find Naruto and Hinata a wedding gift"

 

Can.... can people really not see how this series has been corrupted to the point where killer ninja are being ordered by the most powerful Assassin Leader in the world in the most powerful Assassin village to FIND A WEDDING GIFT.   That is Shoujo writing, where the focus is on trashy pairing drama, trashy fanservice, and the most forgettable villains who are generally gone by the next episode. There is no serious conflict, there is no serious debate, only problems that would not even existed if the characters were mature. That's the entire point of a shoujo generally, immaturity. Naruto in the beginning was completely different. I remember the countless debates we had on the forum on topics like Sasuke. Should he be completely forgiven. should he be exiled, should he be redeemed by sacrificing himself to save his former team, or is he simply a traitor who deserves to be rewarded as a traitor should? Another huge debate was Naruto's willingness to forgive Sasuke, should main characters always get the girl, different kinds of love and the differences between infatuation and obsession.

 

But now it's just all fanservice, pairing drama, and in the end just plain fluff and garbage. And all we can do as the last fans of the true Naruto series is watch it slowly burn as the "majority" fans stoke the fire with their entitlement.
