I find it hilarious that he said that he put Hinara with Naruto because of popularity, but Sakura is more popular, meaning that NS should have been canon. Funny how this guy isn't even knowledgable about his fanbase.

A good backstory for introducing Sakura's family early on is to make them part of the kyuubi haters.
This would certainly add to the Sakura /naruto dynamic, I could see Sakura defending Naruto from her parents prejudice and cutting relations with them for a given time.

I always thought that the prejudice against Naruto wasn't given much of a spotlight in the story. Mainly with his peers. I mean how did Shikamaru and everyone else discovered about the kyuubi, how did they dealed with it?

  When you are old and ugly, I will still be cute and youthful. So gimme my lollipops and walk away!!

I dunno...to this day I always feel paranoid when I'm in places that are for Adults that I will get in trouble. Like Casino's, bar, and clubs. 

Not that I frequent them much. But when I do go I have my I.D out and ready and find someone to give me a bracelet so I won't be yelled at as soon as they spot me.

I'm writing a fic where it's the opposite: Sakura's mother is sympathetic towards Naruto early on. I haven't decided if her father is going to be in it, I think he will though.

I just find the sympathetic thing to be more appealing for some reason.

That sounds cool :) I was thinking that the way I have it in my fic, AHK, is that Mebuki and Kizashi feel for Naruto about the pain he has without having parents, yet they still see him as Kurama early on. It's only hearing what Sakura tells them about him that makes them realize there is more to Naruto, as well as their thinking early on back in the early days of Team 7 that Sakura just didn't understand how Naruto was really.

So Kishi didn't know how to make Sakura popular with the fans? Who cares what the fans think! Yeah, fan feedback is important, but you should never allow it dictate the direction of your work. I mean what's the point in following a story if it's all based on some misguided idea of which character is more popular?! 

 

And that thing about Neji being a cupid for NH. kittening disgusting. At least Jiraiya's death gave Naruto character development while Neji's death was just an exucse for Hinata to fangirl about Naruto's big, strong and manly hand.

 

From what I understand, neither Hinata nor NH are very popular in Japan, so who exactly is this ending supposed to appeal to? Western fans? I guess, but is that really a viable business strategy? I don't think so. Why? Because piracy, that's why...

So right now we are just getting something about "popularity reasons" whatever the hell that means.
