The tech itself is irrelevant because the villages shouldn't even be training kids to become ninja killing machines in the first place. Naruto looks like an idiot for wanting children to become shinobi the hard way when it's not nescessary in the world of peace they supposedly live in.
I wouldn't doubt it for a second after Naruto and Sasuke are both long gone there will be another great ninja war from the new generations.
And that's one of the big problems I have their naive idealism. They seem to act like once they are the ones to achieve peace, then somehow it will just last forever. The only reason there would be peace is that, at the very least, people wouldn't want to piss off any of the new power gods (though, as Shin showed, even that isn't enough to keep some quiet), but they are not immortal and will be gone eventually, and given Naruto and Sasuke supposedly broke the whole "cycle of hatred" between the Senju and Uchiha Clans, there will no longer be any convenient hax Indra/Ashura chakra reincarnations (Kishi will just retcon that though) after them meaning there will no longer be anyone that powerful who could (forcibly) maintain the peace, so all it would take is a bad enough disagreement after the two are gone and BOOM! Fifth Shinobi War and beyond.
This is why Nagato and Madara's methods for "peace", while morally wrong, are actually understandable in an extreme realistic sense - Nagato's method being about making people quickly tire and fear war by using the Biju chakra as WMDs, thus forcing the villages into a constant state of M.A,D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) because of knowing that if they did something bad, their village would be wiped off the map, and we in the US have seen this happen ever since the Civil War. It's what lead the US to have isolationist policies during WWI and WWII until the antagonistic countries dragged the country in anyway, and largely what kept nuclear war from erupting throughout the Cold War.
Madara's method being about taking away mankind's individuality since various people have various points of views, differing thoughts and opinions, differing ideologies, and so on, and such things are what can lead to bad disagreements which can then lead to bad actions which can lead to war. Again, we can look at WWI, WWII, and the Cold War as such examples. Make everyone think the exact same way and never disagree on anything, and you would have a form of "utopia", even if it were fake and overall empty.
To be honest there are two sides of the coin regarding this issue . What you say about the hard work theme and the rules is true but on the other hand that theme was destroyed long ago and the rules that are applied in here about the technology are nothing but a stupid contrived BS to bring some pointless message . The point of the technology is to make their lives easier as well as their work that's why we have it in our world , and its such a Double Standard that Naruto (The Hypocrite ) is the one opposing this technology crap when he's the one who modernized the whole village and its also using it for his work for sending emails and what not as well as the villagers . Isn't that minimizing what should be achieved with "hard work/effort" !? Also did we forget about that Chakra Laser Cannon in TL !? What about that one !? That one is ok to use it bc its convenient to us right !?
On the other hand the device that Burito was using can also be seen as Ninja tool as @rocci has pointed out which is not against the Ninja rules which pose another Double Standard and it looks totally stupid having this rule in the first place .
This is why the Technology crap should have never been introduced in the first place bc it was never such a big part of this manga the Naruto World and it goes completely against its themes its nothing but a one giant piece of retconing double standard BS and makes Kishimoto the biggest idiot hypocrite and an absolute failure of an author bc the man has completely lost touch with his own creation and its themes , he clearly doesn't know how to write anymore if he ever did that is sign .
Yep, it's just another show of just how much of a huge mess the story had long since become, resulting in nothing mattering in the end.
"Boruto is a fantastic film that uses a tale of ninjas to explore the all-too-common real world problem of trouble between a busy father and a neglected son—until the final act where it becomes a cliché Naruto movie about Naruto punching a villain really hard."
"Fantastic film"? Pfft.

Allow me to give these people a story of mine. A true story. So Naruto Gaiden managed to sell 600,000+ in its first week
Once upon a time, I was here yesterday, wondering how people would react upon the "good" news for the sales. So I have to explore places for a possible early numbers. No luck. So I found one site that shows the ranking. It didn't have a sale numbers, but it's definitely it. Now, I remember which series is being released on that week. A lot really. One of them is Haikyuu!!, a popular series that gets 400,000+ sales in its first week. So looking at the list, I see it placed at #3. Who's #2?
Naruto Gaiden.
I had an expression of Shinpachi, when Gin failed at a cool entrance. Don't know what is that? Search for "Gin failed entrance" in YouTube. Attack on Titan was #1, but that doesn't help because it's always high selling series that can reach a million if not near. So I only thought, "It's ok. We just need t-t-time machine!" But no use. There's none. So I can only think "Maybe Haikyuu!! sales got lowered. Yeah..." But how cruel am I to think that. So I just wait for the next day, hoping everything is ok.
The next day that is today arrived and I waited for hours for it. So when it was out, I remember the ranking. So I decided to look at Haikyuu!! first to wonder if it's 300,000 or 400,000. I remember rocci telling us that it will get 500,000. It is possible, but for people's sake, I like him to get it wrong. Yes, it is cruel, but I want these guys to be happy. So I look at it and...
It got 500,000+.
My immediate reaction is "GO TO HELL!" So I look at others and that was that. You may be thinking, "This is Haikyuu!! fault to already give you no hope!" That may be true, but anything can happen. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. So I don't blame Haikyuu!! for the sales. It's just the name and market together helped. So I await to see how much can it garner.
That said...
*Beat the crap out of Haikyuu!!* YOU BASTARD!!! HOW DARE YOU ALREADY GAVE ME NO HOPE WITH YOUR SERIES BEING POPULAR AND ALWAYS SOLD MORE THAN 400,000 IN A WEEK, YOU BASTARD!!! WHY YOU HAVE A FACE OF "MY JOB HERE IS DONE"?!?!?! *Continues to beat down. The visual is presented in Gintama Episode 88, where Gin and Kagura beat down Toujo for doing nothing*
The End

I thought it was unnecessary but it does show off his expression more clearer to show that his time is up. I wouldn't complain about it. Not much to say.
Well, sales is coming. Listen, just follow on how long it will last. The opening could be disappointing news to you guys, but hey, life is full of surprises. I may already know that it will do well like a normal volume, just a gut feeling, but don't let it ruin you. Just be like "Ok." and move on.
Just want to let you know now.
I guess i am the only one who can't never moved on

I just can't believe how something as kitten as Gaiden managed to sell 600,000 copies... No where near as much as Naruto usually sells in its first week, but 600,000 is a number lots of mangakas can only dream of. What BS honestly.

Sorry for that. Lol.
Yeah, but that's the popularity power. I mean it did boost the novels sale for a bit as well, so yeah, it's the movie help.

The Naruto name holds power.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

So is 600,000 volumes sold a good or bad thing from a business standpoint?

It's popular manga. So Naruto Gaiden managed to sell 600,000+ in its first week
It's the same class with twillight and fifty shade of gray.
I don't think think it will reach a million copy.

For a spin off, it's a good thing. So is 600,000 volumes sold a good or bad thing from a business standpoint?
I think it could be indicator that if they make a sequel, it will sell more or less like that.

Completely regarding Gaiden as a standalone, I'd say yes. Not sure if it's considered a financial failure though with the name Naruto attached to it. I know tons of spins off who never sell that much in the first week. May it be Sinbad no Bouken, Fairy Tail Zero... Heck, it's beating popular shounens such as Nanatsu no Taizai or Bleach in its first week.So is 600,000 volumes sold a good or bad thing from a business standpoint?

It's more of a business as usual. I can't say it's great, nor bad. Just good. It doesn't really say, "We should do the sequel!" but you can say they could think about it. In any case, it is what it is. Heck, the reaction seems to be normal rather than groundbreaking. Basically, it's business as usual. How much will it make in the end, well, we'll see.

Well if 600,000 is a decent amount then I guess SP has nothing to worry about if they wish to continue

Basically the spinoff is apart of the original manga. Not a standalone story like the traditional spinoffs. So basically, its volume 73 and extra bonus volume that more than half its sales in its first week. So you look at volume 71. it had 1.2 million copies sold in its first week. that's half the fandom.

No, they shouldn't risk it. SP - Kishi = DBGT 2.0. Even DBS may not be safe.

And this is what happens when you allowed technology into the Naruto world. Now all people are doing is arguing over the petty things that really shouldn;t have existed in the first place. Instead of "How the hell did Himawari get the Byakugan when Kishimoto said she didn't before?" we now have "How are these tools not allowed when ninja use tools all the time?"
Here is a better statement: If Kishimoto actually kept to his guns and not made technology just advance 150 years in the Naruto verse in under 10, then maybe these arguments would not be an issue. I mean the technology Naruto has now....some of it even surpasses real life technology. Devices that can use your chakra to mimic other techniques? How bizarre. It is basically their universes version of a gun and in many ways some see it as a cowards weapon. Compare to our age when we had swords and chivalry to when guns were invented? Although technically archery could theoretically still be used, albeit with a few upgrades.
And this is what has become of the Naruto franchise. From a knuckle headed ninja who was in love with the girl of his dreams and trying to be accepted and not see as a monster to Naruto cutting ribbons for opening a new train system, big screen TVs, interviews with ninja Oprah where everyone get a new jutsu, and technology that allows even the dumbest people to use the most powerful ninja techniques in the world.
It is what I call "swing and a miss" and the worst part is is that most of the Naruto fandom has missed the entire point of all of it due to petty argument and pairing debates. Fans caring more that the kids do kickass instead of questioning how they managed they get all these powers of of nowhere. Byakugan? Sharingan's? Imagine this guy inventing goggles that mimic those abilities.
It's not just destroying the the spirit of Naruto, but destroying the roots of it all. The idea that hard work and dedication can be outmatched simply by technology and that people will eventually become fat and lazy in the Naruto world. Hell, watch Narutoverse looking something like Wall-E in the next 20 years. Is this what everyone wanted?
Why is this tool banned and shouldn't it be a ninja tool as well?
Well, why do people learn archery when we have guns?
Why do people learn fighting techniques when we have nukes?
Why do people learn martial arts at all?
I have a few questions for the Narutoverse....how many still know who Hashirama is and how many still see him as the "Greatest of Shinobi?" Or has technology allowed everyone to do wood release? What about all the history and such? I guess like in the real world, we forget how we got there and things we once cherished now no longer have any meaning.

I really wish I knew that as well james I'm just getting so tired and the people who do review it just eat all this kitten up like its a piece of cake I mean as the nostalgia critic would say "more kitten please" as that is all they care about.
No what they care about is Hinata and she got what she wanted not once do they say what is going on just how good Hinata's kids are of how good the film was or Gaiden was, and like you it makes me sick.

How much you guys want to bet if the manga ending, TL, plus the spin off gaiden and the Shinachiku the movie was properly like this....
Japan would have made Kishi and SP pocketed billions of yens (like 50-100 million) US dollars without fan service. And planning a cohesive and productive story telling.
