I'm sorry if I disappointed you. This is the NS debate thread, NOT, the NS appreciation thread. And as such, I feel free to write down my opinion, regardless of it being optimistic or pessimistic. I replied to xxRomanceGirlxx because I respect her opinion and wanted to know what she thinks in return. Whether people will create a sh*tstorm from that isn't really my concern as long as I'm not doing anything against the rules.
 

Its about having a little bit of respect for the fans in here and some consideration for them like I said what's the purpose of it doing it in the first place ? Its no different then what SS NH were doing when they invaded this place in 615   if you feel  that way you might as well go to some ANS thread and express your disdain in there .

 

 As I said, SS is a hundred times worse. But just because one is terrible it doesn't make the other less terrible one look automatically fabulous.
Sakura is NOT specially important to Naruto. She's no more different than his other comrades. The only person that has a high up place in Naruto's heart is Sasuke, and Sasuke only and that stays forever. If Sakura DID succeed in killing Sasuke, Naruto's disappointment will be a lot more than that of if it was the other way around. I feel no appeal to such a pairing where the girl is just there for the sake of being there, watching the bromance from the sidelines. Yuck.

As for why NS is degrading Sakura? Sakura shouldn't have to spend her efforts and life cheering Naruto from the background. NS used to be a good influence to her in part one. Since after the Sasori fight, Sakura is only his cheerleader. It would have been a LOT MORE BETTER if she would have focused on her own life, her own career, instead of just calling out "Naruto" after every 15 or so chapters. (Isn't that a boring heroine?) Especially more so when she is not half as important to the guy compared to the' supposed 'brother' who is willing to kill him.

The fact that you even compared NS to SS in therms of "degrading" is already worse enough . and what you described is not degrading 

this what degrading is  de·grad·ing : adjective : causing a loss of self-respect; humiliating. "cruel or degrading treatment"  

So when has Naruto made Sakura to feel like kitten or disrespected her in the first place ? How is it degrading when Naruto motivates her ?

Come on now this just pure hate that's coming from you based from the N/S bromance  NS stands on its own and Naruto has single out Sakura as one of his most precious people more then once and you know it  

 

And why are using double standards in here hasn't Naruto also spend efforts to cheer Sakura up  more then once  ? You are mixing the NaruSasu one with NS relationship  every relationship stands on its own  you are basing you hate for NaruSasu toNS and that's wrong.

 

Trust me I hate NaruSasu as much as you guys  but that doesn't mean that i would hate NS bc its separated from that one and its stands of its own I judge it by the way they interact and feel for each other .

 

There is no reason for me to convince you  if you don't like NS anymore and don't ship it  . Naruto is forgiving yes especially toward Sasuke but that doesn't mean Sakura mean so much little to him  not when he has called Sasuke on his BS so many times when he has insulted her   but this really sad from what I'm seeing now  really its no different then what the ANS fans are doing .

I'm sad to say this but you're right. In terms of importance to Naruto; Sasuke holds the highest position. And that would've been fine provided that the Naruto and Sasuke bond actually had some proper development.

Kishi never showed just how strong the bond between Naruto and Sasuke is, he just eludes to it through Naruto. By having Naruto thinking about Sasuke in moments that really have to connection to Sasuke. By having Naruto chasing after Sasuke for no reason. By having Naruto ready to throw his life away for Sasuke, when Sasuke just doesn't give a f about him. He just wants to be left alone to do his own stuff. By declaring that Naruto and Sasuke are actually long distant brothers through the Indra and Ashura nonsense to cover his own ass.

Naruto's connection to Sasuke is far more important than any connection he has never established. Even the one with Sakura.
We've seen just how much Sakura cares about Naruto, just how far she's willing to go for him. And we also saw just how much Naruto cares about Sakura, what he's willing to sacrifice for her. But it's never on the same degree as Sasuke. To Naruto Sasuke is far more important than anything, that includes Sakura, Kakashi, Iruka, Bee, Minato, Kushina, Hinata and even himself.

Take for example Sakura's confession. Regardless of what you think of it. That's 100% true or that's 100% fake or it's half true and half fake or whatever you think of it. It doesn't really matter. The fact of the matter is this. Sakura went to Naruto and basically said this "Naruto if you want me, you can have me." And what was Naruto's answer? "Sorry Sakura I don't want you, I want Sasuke."
That moment would've been OK provided that Naruto and Sasuke had actually a real bond. But it doesn't and that makes it bad.

I have to agree with some of the guys up there ramen, it's seems like your somehow trying to mix N/S and NS, when pairings have nothing to with the whole N/S relationship
You're probably going to say "it's not about pairings, but bonds and how strong they are"
Yes N/S have stronger bonds than NS, but N/S have stronger bonds than anything in the manga because kishi
That's why N/S has it's own lane and pairings has another lane, the two can't mix

I...wouldn't go as far as to compare an anti opinion to a literally anti fan opinion but....really...as much as the bromance has its pros(very very less) it has its cons as well! The bromance as such...is not bad....but it was written badly and when something as exclusive as a bromance starts interfering in main character's love and professional life, it becomes a problem! Maybe it could've been executed in a better manner so as not to have an influential impact on main character's love and professional life!

I still support the claim that there is no two man tag team in existence right now who is on par with NaruSasu tag team excluding the god powers! It really could have been executed in a better way. I get that Naruto wants to save Sasuke from darkness and stuff which is good..really good...but at the same time, neglecting people like Shikamaru or Gaara who were always like a brother to Naruto...maybe they could've got more interactions as well!

Basically to sum it up, what I wanted to say is for NaruSasu teamwork to be executed like HashiMadara! Hashirama sure wanted to save Madara from darkness but he sure did not let Madara's defection affect his other lives. Yeah, something close to portraying NaruSasu bond as HashiMadara bond!

NS is beautiful and stands on its own as it is right now! But maybe, just maybe the triangle could've been better or who knows, even best, if it was a bit....balanced maybe!

You know, I'd ship Sakura with Lee if he was the person that makes her happy like Naruto or even happier. But it just so happens that Naruto is the guy that makes her happy. I'll deal with it for Sakura's sake because at this point NS isn't even appealing to me, and one of the reasons for that is because of what Ramenanmitsu pointed out:

 

Sasuke takes precedence over almost everything in Naruto's life. His dream of becoming Hokage? Can't do that unless Sasuke is saved. The girl that he loves? Can't confess to her unless he saves Sasuke. Getting stronger? Yup, Sasuke was the biggest motivation in creating Rasen Shuriken, which required days of non stop training that makes me want to puke just thinking about it. And what makes it even worse for me is all the crap that Sasuke does and Naruto still thinks they're great friends. Yes, I know how Naruto's character works. Still, I find it to be cringe worthy to see those words utter out of his mouth considering that he tried to kill the girl that he loves and wants to be Hokage now, which is Naruto's dream.

 

Me, Nostradamus and Ramenanmitsu may only be the ones who feel like this, but when I look back at Naruto's character I feel very irritated over the fact that Sasuke is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo important to Naruto when all is said and done. 

 

You want to know what could have made this all better for me? If Kishi actually toned down Naruto's pursuit of Sasuke. I find it incredibly embarrassing that Naruto goes to country to country for someone who wants absolutely nothing to do with him. I loathe Sasuke so much that it hurts, but I'm gonna have to side with Sasuke for one sec. Sasuke has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't want to be bothered by Naruto. He even asked Naruto what the hell he wants from him and why does he care so much, which is a very good question. But you know Naruto, and if you read that chapter you know his response is because "we're friends". But that's the thing that makes me sick. After just attempting to murder the girl that he loves, he still thinks they're friends. Naruto's response isn't some earth shattering dialogue that makes you think deeply. His response is that of a person who is delusional and is in denial about the current status of their relationship. Where is the line that can't be crossed for Naruto to finally say Sasuke and him aren't great friends or even friends for that matter? No such boundaries exist in this story. 

 

Naru/Sasu is one of the main reason why I'm no longer emotionally attached to NS. It's mainly spite shipping at this point. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, and if it does I apologize for it.

I thought it was good for people not to be emotionally attached to a pairing, that way you don't read every chapter with pairing goggles and call every interaction an important moment, don't get into pointless debates, etc.
I wish i wasn't emotionally attached to a pairing, I blame the forums for that.

I'll also like to share a theory that I came up with last month:
Naruto vs Sasuke, it would have to come down for Naruto to either kill Sasuke and have peace in the world or let Sasuke live and the cycle of hatred will still continue. So it's pretty much Naruto either choosing to save the world and everybody else he loves or saving Sasuke.

You don't have to apologize. Everybody's entitled to their own opinion, no matter what it is. I may not agree with it, but you're allowed to have your own thoughts on a subject. And you're right, as long as the person makes her happy, it doesn't exactly have to end up being Naruto she gets with

Have you ever respected the Sasuke fans in here? No, you never did. And as I said again, respecting the pairing doesn't mean faking myself and pretending that NS is a wonderful pairing when I don't think so. I already wrote my purpose so I don't wish to repeat it again. As I said this isn't an appreciation thread, this is the DEBATE thread.

After the Naruto vs Sasuke battle in the hospital roof, after the Kage Summit, after the rookie's meeting. But that's just the icing on the cake. Her character being his cheerleader is downright humiliating when she deserves so much better. Of course it's not on the same level as how NH is degrading Hinata's character, if I may add.

Then I guess it's okay for you if Naruto two-times Sakura with Hinata because every pairing stands on it's own right? "Not praising NS" does not equate to "Anti-NS". Remember that equation next time. I was a member here from 2011, and I used to debate FOR the NS pairing more than probably you. If a person whose been a long fan of NS sees a problem with it, you might want to reconsider that there MIGHT be a problem with the pairing rather than instantly judging the long fan as an anti-NS. Not to mention, many other fans in this site have wrote similar concerns and thoughts regarding the pairing, are you going to judge them too?

Lee....his and Naruto's relationship is like that of an eternal rival one...except that both are extremely idiotic at times XD. Even this could've been touched upon instead of the excess bromance!

Shino...Why was this guy even neglected? Even he hailed Naruto as one his greatest friends and really...their interactions could have been amazing!

Kiba....Even this guy was not touched upon! I admit he won't make a rival as good as Sasuke for Naruto...but atleast...their rivalry could've been that of Goku and Krillin! Their relationship gained a good spotlight!

Hinata...I better not speak on this one since there really is nothing except....fainting XD

Ino....Where was Ino all this time except for the war?

Tenten....better forget about this one! She was not even shown neatly in the war....so...I'd just skip this one!

Neji....Now him...and Naruto would have interesting interactions and development! But...after Chunin exams...we got a NO!

So leaving apart Sakura and Kakashi, Naruto has had a near to balance interaction with people we can count on hand! I get it that interaction with everyone is not possible but....atleast the main ones would do....instead of the excess Bromance. Mind well, I am not saying 'Bromance' but...'Excess Bromance!'

and most of all.....EVEN SAKURA'S AND TSUNADE'S RELATIONSHIP REMAIN UNTOUCHED as opposed to the other two!

Kiba....Even this guy was not touched upon! I admit he won't make a rival as good as Sasuke for Naruto...but atleast...their rivalry could've been that of Goku and Krillin! Their relationship gained a good spotlight!

Ino....Where was Ino all this time except for the war?
Tenten....better forget about this one! She was not even shown neatly in the war....so...I'd just skip this one!
Neji....Now him...and Naruto would have interesting interactions and development! But...after Chunin exams...we got a NO!
So leaving apart Sakura and Kakashi, Naruto has had a near to balance interaction with people we can count on hand! I get it that interaction with everyone is not possible but....atleast the main ones would do....instead of the excess Bromance. Mind well, I am not saying 'Bromance' but...'Excess Bromance!'
and most of all.....EVEN SAKURA'S AND TSUNADE'S RELATIONSHIP REMAIN UNTOUCHED as opposed to the other two!

I think this post describes how a lot of people feel about Naruto(the manga)
Especially after the time skip, kishimoto just focused on Naruto and Sasuke for the most part
Thus this is why I think you guys hate it so much, you have been seeing it for x amount of years and you start to see the flaw of it

Hell, I'll even ship her with old man Kakashi if it's absolutely necessary for a female character to have a love interest. Just don't let her be with Naruto just to be used as a literary device to emphasize the NaruSasu bromance by constantly shutting her out of it.
