as long as Shikimaru ends up with Temari I really couldn't care less about any pairings in Naruto...I just like being here and talking about how I interpret the story as I read it....

that is not to say I don't think Naruto and Sakura will be a couple because it is the only logical ending after all, just that my enjoyment of Naruto isn't based upon it.

You'll probably all be asking me "What the hell are you thinking" but I do have partial respect for NaruHina, if only because its got the next best chance after NaruSaku and just so I don't rage if NaruSaku doesn't happen.

Don't really care for the other pairings, except for Leeten, but that's mostly because of the Rock Lee manga and TV show. 'Cause neither are in cannon with manga universe, I wouldn't be surprise if that pairing doesn't happen. I sorta support Sasuke getting with Karin, and Hinata getting with.......anyone other than Naruto. But that's entirely because I want those characters not to get with Sakura or Naruto, not because I care for those pairings.

So, how's your feeling on NaruSaku? What percent of confidence you have for NS?

I said in an earlier post that I had three doubts of why I think Narusaku will not happen: 1) we haven't really seen Naruto and Sakura together for a long time, 2) Narauto and Hinata's whole 'looking in your eyes' conversation (even though in hindsight it really isn't something to worry about), and 3) I don't trust my own bias opinion. Most, if not ALL, my doubts went away when the spoilers of the recent Naruto movie, Road to Ninja, came out.

My first doubt went away when I found out that Naruto and Sakura spent the majority of film together (I started doubting that will happen because they didn't advertise Sakura a lot, still pissed that none of the promos focused on Naruto and Sakura's dynamic), and they do have moments together. I know the film is not cannon, but Kishi wrote the story, so it still has his intent. He probably wrote this way after the summit arc (and considering Naruto knew who his mom is, then it safe to bet that the movie is SUPPOSEDLY takes place after he meets her in his mind), so he still sees Naruto and Sakura's relationship the same as it was before the whole confession thing. Naruto still has a crush on Sakura (as he thought in the beginning that they were going on a date, and later asks her on a real date), which means that Naruto didn't fall out of love for Sakura, his feelings are still the same for her (I know in episode 235 he said he still loved her, but Kishi was in charge of the movie).

My second doubt went away when I realize the lack of Hinata in the movie. That showed me that, even in a movie where he had complete control over, Kishi focused more on Naruto and Sakura's bond than any other bond, including Naruto and Sasuke's. To me, that meant that he cares about that bond more than most bonds, including Naruto and Hinata's bond. Personally, now I don't care what kind of bond Naruto has with Hinata, as I now believe it isn't as strong as his bond with Sakura.

The third doubt went away along with the first two doubts, but what really killed it was when I saw the comments the Road to Ninja website posted on one of their websites from around the world. I don't know how to post it, but anyone who have seen it on the Road to Ninja debate thread knows that they were two pro Narusaku comments on that page. None of the other pairings were mention, so out of the many comments that have been sent to them, they at least placed two pro Narusaku comments on their website. So unless they are as bias as us, or we are all just as stupid as the people who picked those comments, I don't think that it's a coincidence.

So I'm about 100% sure it will end up Narusaku, I'm not even going to give Naruhina the benefit of the doubt anymore. I don't see that pairing becoming cannon, nor do I think it has a good chance. Does it have any chance, possibly, but personally I don't think so.

I know I'm relying to much on a un-cannon movie, but Kishi was in charge of it, so that counts for something big. More than any normal filler, yet not as much as it being in the manga. But close in my opinion.

Considering all of the buildup that has happened over the years wouldn't it be kind of awkward if it didn't happen?

Imagine if the series ended with Sakura together with Sasuke, just seeing the following works again would be extremely awkward

- Naruto OVA 2011: We have Naruto resting on Sakura's lap, her crying for him, he caresses her cheek and give her a smile, she hugs him in complete joy. That moment was romantic full stop, anyone thinking differently is in denial. She even cries so hard for him that she gets a runny nose, now that's pure raw love.

- Road to Ninja: Part of the movie focuses on Naruto and Sakura reforging their bond and show how strong it is. Sakura even teases him about their date at the end of the film.

Just those two above would feel very off putting to see if Naruto wasn't able to win Sakura's heart by the end.

Now, if memory serves me right I do remember that Kishi said that he wanted to make this movie to also entertain people who weren't fans of Naruto, maybe even introduce them to the series this way. What do you guys think is the impression people would get about Naruto and Sakura after seeing this movie yet knowing nothing about the series. I'm pretty sure the majority would conclude that they share a bond that seems to slowly work its way to a romantic relationship. Also, if I didn't know anything about the series before the movie I would conclude that this Sasuke fellow is someone who always sets Sakura up for disappointment so it would be better for her to grow out of her feelings for him.

So for all we know maybe the impression Kishi was trying to leave to the audience who's new to the Naruto series about Sakura was this:

While her relationship with Naruto is not perfect, in the end you know she'll be there for him and you'll see how her bond with Naruto makes her a better person. On the other hand, even though she has feelings for Sasuke you can clearly see how those feelings eventually bring her down and she ends up disappointed in herself because of it.

About bonds, the thing is that bonds is one of the most important theme in Naruto in general. When I was playing Generations, I was reminded about Naruto's bonds that really connects him the most and each of them has a special meaning.

Iruka -> Father-like figure/family
Kakashi -> Sensei/surpassing expectations
Sasuke -> Rivalry/brother
Sakura -> close friend/lover

Each of them has a place for Naruto and it actually covers the meaning of bond pretty clear. Konoha 12 are pretty much his allies/friends, so that's already cover. I remember how much in the manga reminded people that Sasuke is Naruto's brother that needs to be rescued, and Sakura is Naruto's love interest that he will protect no matter what. They mean a lot to him. Road to Ninja covers Iruka (beginning and end) for family theme, and Sakura (whole movie) for strong friendship. If Kishi wants to remove the idea of Naruto in love with Sakura, why all the date request in the movie. Why end the friendship theme in a date request tease, which people who are new to the series will think it's a strong possibility for romance between them. Fans and newcomers will think this way. If Kishi didn't put that ending, then the ending between Naruto and Sakura will be just really good friends. Instead, he is teasing us that NaruSaku can really work, especially the whole development in the movie.

So, there you have it. Plus, all my friends want them to get together already. Stop with the teases, Kishi!

LOL, my brother only watched Naruto up to like the end of Part One, and he asked me if Sakura is in love Naruto yet. I was surprised that he thought Sakura was gonna fall in love with Naruto, because he likes Hinata better. My grandmother who only watched one scene in Shippuden which was the 4-tails scene and Sakura was running up to him, she had said that she could tell from that one scene that she loves Naruto

Also my brother who only watches the story for action and plot(plus more action ) said to me two weeks ago "When are Sakura and Naruto going to kiss? They haven't at all, even once."

If a pairing isn't crack just because one person loves the other, then what is crack?
Because from your explanation, Sakura X Love letter ninja isn't crack either. In your explanation, you X your stalker won't be crack either.
Love letter ninja, Lee, Hinata both love a person who doesn't love them back. What differentiates the former from the latter?

And yes, I believe the only difference between LS and NH is popularity. Lee does the exact same thing with Sakura, risking his life to protect her, but his actions doesn't get as much applause as Hinata does in the pairing base. LS is much healthier and probable than SS, yet pairing fans thinks SS will have a bigger chance of happening. It's all about what the pairing fans prefer. Pairing fans don't want to root for Lee, because he's not handsome or overpowered or anything. And to be honest when I was a SS fan, I only rooted for the pairing because Sasuke was cool and handsome and strong that I wanted him to have a pretty girlfriend.

Sure, NS maybe a minority when it comes to fans who read mangas for pairing reasons only, but I believe they are a majority for people who reads it for actions or plot reasons. It's just that these people don't voice their opinions about pairings so often or don't get on the internet to discuss about the manga.

Then my friend said, "what about that pink-haired girl? I thought she will be his girlfriend." And I wanted to shout, "Not yet! With that being said, if there is indeed a time of rest after the fights in the war, do any of you think that other people will bring up how Sakura confessed to Naruto? Lee would probably make some mention of how he entrusts Sakura to Naruto while being all dramatic.

I wonder if anyone else besides the ones who saw Sakura's confession know about it. Do you think Kiba or Lee would make a mention of it to the other Konoha 11? I don't think it has been discussed often here how other people also witnessed Sakura's confession to Naruto. That automatically makes the situation different to the confession Sakura gave to Sasuke and the one Hinata gave to Naruto, those were private. It makes me wonder if there will be any effects for Sakura making such a public confession.

Actually, I think I'd like to add Bee up there too 'cause Bee to me, looks a lot like a big brother Naruto never had. And it's interesting enough that Bee is also a foil to Naruto himself. Bee is what Naruto would've turned out like had Minato let Kushina die sealing Kurama again and stayed by his side.

Actually, I'm putting major money on Bee being the one to bring this up. Bee will fist bump with Sakura and realize about their relationship. Touched by their story, he writes some rap ballad lyrics that makes a tribute to their relationship and sings it out in the camp for everyone to hear, much to to Naruto & Sakura's embarrassment.

I can see the K-11 holding them down, preventing them from escaping all the while grinning at their predicament. Ino & Shikamaru would probably have a field day with it. To add more fun, Gaara gets in on the fun and when Naruto begs to him he switches his poker face to a smirk, clearly indicating his amusement which will just reduce Naruto to tears.
