Oh that was an attempt at a joke. Sorry, you were so off in your observation I notice that instead of you were attempting a joke. Let me explain. A "fate worse than death" implies that person is alive and is suffering a horrible fate which death would be preferable over it. What happened to the poor shmuck the Marada possessed can only be describe as that during the process before Kabuto stabs them with the kunia with the control seal. You're never talking about that short time frame, the one you were talking about; by the time Marada restores himself that host has been long dead. Its corpse defilement not death or a fate worse than it. So, call Marada a Corpse F*&^er it would have worked and been funnier.
Killing Jokes?
Never heard of them before. So, can't say I am much of a fan.
Actually, that forest could serve several purposes. Scientist like to test their experiments on plants before moving on to animals or people, a place to cultivate herbs for medicine and poisons, a place for mediations or relaxation, and for clean air off the top of my head. Also, botany as you mentioned.

I know this is a filler episode, but how dd I notice???
Okay so for whatever reason the pics can't work, but if you remember the filer episode where Naruto and Sasuke kissed again.... Look at the shape the splash takes after they fall into the water:
Nice treasure!
Do you remember that Twillight Joke? It just got to a new level.

Yeah, somehow I can see Kishi doing that dude is not very creative at all.
But he also loves his Uchiha as well.
Posted 28 June 2022 - 07:22 PM
Which is BS and something I want to rectify in TDW,since while the Uchiha will be powerful, they won't be God tier.
It's honestly kind of astounding how little the Uchiha had centered, and I think that was for the better.
Not to say it was a bad thing that the Uchihas got a lot of spotlight in Part 2 because it's always good to explore about other avenues in a story as the journey progresses.
Which honestly would've made more sense if the story was strictly centered around Sasuke, but that's not the case here. The story is about Naruto Uzumaki, and to see how little focus we got on his heritage and clan is what annoys me the most since he is supposed to be the main protagonist.
Which honestly he doesn't even really feel like it at times in Part 2 when you compare the journey Naruto goes through vs the development and journey Sasuke goes through. it's like night and day.
Shifting the focus to Naruto & Sasuke isn't a bad thing in Part 2, but as a writer I feel you should place them both on an equal plain field. Naruto experiences growth, trials and tribulations in his parts of the story, and Sasuke should feel his too when his parts come into the story.
but like i said it really does say a lot when the deuteragonist (in this case, Sasuke) feels more like the protagonist than the actual main protagonist (in this case, Naruto) himself.

What I have to say about that is that focusing on the Uchiha is yet another cheap plot device and the focus was not to develop the clan but as an extension of Sasuke and his back story and motivations to set up his conflict with Naruto. Clans and families otherswise are only touched upon only to show you that they are there and do not delve further or develop. Not the Uzumaki, not the Hyuga, not the Sarutobi etc. etc. they are just there
A lot of the problem I feel is that when you get stuff about the clans (not just the uchiha) it's predominately shown through flashback. You don't really get much abou them during the present which honestly really say a lot about the story.

because they are either dead or not important enough to reference. Like I said they are just there, to let the fans know that clans exist and no more than that. It would help the world building if they did, but obviously that wasn't a priority

The problem I have is Kishi fell too in love with the Uchiha clan and wanted to keep using them. But as time went on and we as readers learned more about them and how power mad they could get we started to hate them.
Now Kishi found out that many readers hated the Uchiha hence he kept adding more reasons why we should feel bad for them. But each time it didnt work out. So, Kishi kept adding new reasons why they go crazy.

I still f***ing hate that I mean come on Retro said it best in his rise and fall of Naruto you needed a Joker or your Sidious. But no everyone is a victim.
Yeah! And I prefer the idea that I wanna use in my fanfic that Madara snapped when his brother Izuna, even when wounded fatally by Tobirama, wanted peace with the Senju clan, after realizing how too much blood was spilled by their clans, and Madara killed him and took his Sharingan for himself, becoming more and more evil. Hell, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure does that so well in just having a villain being a villain with Dio. He may have claimed to love his mother, but he was, as Speedwagon said, BORN evil considering how twisted he was to try to break Jonathan in Phantom Blood when he came to the Joestar estate, as well as his desires to become a god.

The only characters who had this were characters that weren't that main event villain
Deidara, Hidan, and most the Akatsuki
I also think this is why Madara was also a good villain. He literally did anything for the sake of it. The man was practically bored with existence and almost seem like he did anything to take his mind away

I would say the Uchiha were the worse when it came to what Kishi did again; they went crazy because they loved too much, which, when I first read it, I just laughed over how stupid it was.
I feel Kishi also didn't know when someone needed a tragic past, and I feel he overused it too much.
Now I remember watching season 8 of the walking dead when Carl died and I remember this that someone said.
"This was the most heartbreaking finale yet in the series, nothing could be more devastating than for a man to lose his son,"
Something I agree with and hence why Vanitas and I talk about a better way to make a villain is to have them lose a child, one that they love and feels the pain of losing them.

It reminds me of Mickey Rourke's character, Stavros, in the Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman film, "Double Team", and how Stavros loathed Van Damme's character, Jack, because his son died on an operation Jack had on him, and in his twisted sense of revenge, Stavros took Jack's newborn son in the climax of the film.

It feels like, starting with Nagato, Naruto just became about nobody taking personal responsibility for anything. It all became solely "the system's" fault and never the personal choices made by the person(s) in question. Would the person(s) have made different choices if "the system" were different? Possibly, but "what-ifs" are no excuse for the crimes committed at the present time.
And look...despite all the talk about "the system" and how much it hurt all these "tragic" characters... NARUTO DOESN'T EVEN CHANGE "THE SYSTEM"!
