I think I'll take up One Piece, re-start Bleach, re-start Rave Master, finish FMA and stick to Noragami, Fairy Tail, SNK, Tokyo ghoul/Re: Tokyo Ghoul and other shoujo manga.. sigh.

 

Ichigo100%. It's an haremi shounen but the romance is well done. and had a decent and beautiful conclusion. proper to kawakittena-sensei.

In 693, was he speaking for how he felt about her in that moment, or throughout the manga? I never got that clarification...SS thinks he was just in darkness/tsundere or whatever, and idk what to believe at this point.

Well if you checked during the whole manga, he never hint that he has any feeling for her I mean he tried to kill her 3 time, verbally abuse her time to time. Even in 700 ending, he give her children but god, he wanderer around the village, he doesn't look like a caring husband or father.  Like his father was. In other word no, it is an asspull.

There are quite a number of oldies missing. Come on! It's the end of the manga. We can at least appreciate that the train wreck is finally over, right? Not really... Over twelve hours later and the scars from Kishi's searing knife that is his writing skills still aches. They'll never recover.

My Wife just got home and read the ending. This is our conversation while she was reading it:

 

Wife: "What the f*****g hell is this steaming pile of dogs***!  This is not funny.  Where is the real chapter?"

 

ME: "No joke, this is the real chapter ending"

 

Wife: "Did Kishi hire a bunch of monkeys to write the ending? Is this a troll? I don't get it.  This is totally OOC."

 

Me: "I have no idea"

 

Wife: "This has SP written all over it."

 

Me: "Probably."

 

Wife: "OMFG, what the f*****g hell did they do to my Gaara!"

 

(oh yea she is a hardcore Gaara fan)

 

WIfe: "These pairings, who decided this was a good idea?"

 

Me: "SP maybe? Editors? Executives?  Take your pick. I dunno"

 

Wife: "Did Ino and Sai adopt an alien child or something?"

 

Me: "Maybe, but I think the kid is biological"

 

Wife: "O.M.G."

 

Wife: "Yeah this a big FU from Kishi to the whole fandom"

 

Me: "That would not surprise me"

 

She is not convinced that this is a real ending, but I disagree.  Sometimes it happens when editors and others who have no literary talent decide what is best for the story and not the author.  Sad but true.  What surprised me was that she was more upset than I was. I had followed the series for about 10 years longer than she had. However, she loves to read, and she doesn't like it when a series just flips like this.

Well if you want my opinion her it is:
Way back at the end of the Pain arc Kishi said he had the end all figured out, and he just had to get there. However years later he started working on "The Last" with SP, who are MAJOR Hinata fans. I think they talked him into making the movie, Part 3 and the Epilouge like this (obviously for money and merchandizing). Even it even though he agreed to it, he still wanted to write the story his way. So up until 698, he still wrote it the way had intended to from the Pain arc. Then for these last 44 pages he switched to SP's ending and changed it from a happy NS ending to a horrible, depressing NH/SS ending. That's why it seems so random, ridiculous, and OOC, because it is. It's not his intended end for the series, but he did it anyway for the money. There's more than enough proof for that with all the NS moments and Anti SS moments from the war. Literally within the last 5 chapters Kakashi's saying "Sakura's not trying or wanting to be yours!" and Sasuke's saying things like "I have no reason to like her" and "Naruto's my only friend, if I break my bond with him I'll be all alone.".
That's why I refuse to accept this as the actual end. I won't bash the characters or the series (I'll just bash Kishi instead), because I don't consider it canon. There's no way I'll let 2 chapters and a movie ruin a 15 year old, 698 chapter series.
The only things I'm looking forward to now are either Kishi making an alternate NS ending (highly unlikely) or at least coming out and admitting this wasn't how he planned it and explaining himself.
Until then, NS is still the only pairing in the series that makes sense, and NH/SS are still disgusting.
