-Draft Recap by pick here:
http://football.fant...?drafttab=round-Draft Recap by Team here:
http://football.fant...s?drafttab=teamHoly carp was this a weird draft. The 3 WR lineup skewed the process greatly, along with the fact that QBs get full points for Touchdowns (although I don’t know how many twigged on to that). Add in a dash of first-time players, some homer picks, and ZOMG 14 Teams, and you get the wild randomness that is the Great H&E 2010 FF League Draft!
Quick (?) thoughts on each Team’s draft, along with what I thought was the best pick made value-wise.
1st draft pick, Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly): The bad news is that he had to work and therefore got the dreaded Auto-draft. The good news is because he was first he got Chris Johnson (Yo CJ, this is for the awesome work you did last year for me:
http://www.youtube.c...feature=search). The other bad news is that because of the run on QBs (11 taken in the first three rounds) he ended up with Matthew Stafford at his starting QB. However, his RB duo (CJ/Pierre Thomas) is very solid and I think Vernon Davis will be able to keep up elite production (although not to the ridiculous levels of last year).
Best pick: CHRIS JOHNSON. Too obvious? I liked Pierre Thomas at the top of the 3rd round too.
2nd pick, Fumbles (Nate River): It’s hard to pass up on Adrian Peterson, but I think I might’ve considered Maurice Jones-Drew just because of the extra -2 points for Fumbling that were added this year. Having said that, Shriner-d00d has himself a very solid team topped off by snatching Mr. Gisele Bundchen in the 3rd. If Calvin Johnson can bounce back from a somewhat down year and Mike Sims-Walker can show that last year’s first half wasn’t a fluke, this will be a very dangerous team.
Best pick: Tom Brady, 3rd Round
3rd pick, The Generals (Nuclear Raven): Eager to redeem himself after missing the playoffs last year, Nuclear Raven started off with a solid trio of MJD, Ryan Grant, and Matt Schaub. Unfortunately, the WR stampede was in full swing by then and Dwayne Bowe ended up being his first wideout. Taking Michael Crabtree right after was a great move (read: I was pissed because I was looking to snag him three spots later), though. I like his bench depth, with the relevant parts of the Buffalo three-headed RB monster (C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson) and handcuff Julian Edelman sitting there. Fun fact: The Generals have exceeded Fantasy Football’s daily recommended serving of Buffalo players on one team.
Best pick: Fred Jackson, 10th round/ Michael Crabtree, 5th Round.
4th pick, Paradoxes (Paradox Jast): In case you weren’t aware that Paradox Jast was a Redskins fan, you know it now. McNabb in the 2nd over Brady, and two young wideouts in Devin Thomas and Anthony Armstrong that almost anyone else wouldn’t have thought of. I’ve always liked McNabb but he had more weapons in Philly than DC, so I’d be surprised if repeats his totals from last year. I expect Chris Cooley to have a decent year, but he may split time with Fred Davis.
Best pick: Felix Jones, 6th Round
5th pick, Zatties! (Zatren6): For as much fun as we had giving Z crap for homerism, he only ended up with 2 Dolphins players, and they were good pickups (Brandon Marshall and Chad Henne). He didn’t think twice about taking Drew Brees since it worked so well for him last year, and his WR corps is solid with Baby TO, Jeremy Maclin, Dez Bryant, and everyone’s favorite sleeper Devin Aromashodu. I don’t like his RBs though. I don’t trust Arizona players until we see what Matt Leinart can do, and Z took Bradshaw when he thought Brandon Jacobs was off the board (he wasn’t). In this timeshare I’d rather trust the bruising goal-line type back.
Best pick: Drew Brees, 1st Round
6th pick, Sparky McRandomsons (Jwolf0): I’m kinda torn on my first round pick, Andre Johnson. He’s a beast, but I keep wondering if I should’ve taken Aaron Rodgers instead. I have a feeling Nee-Sama and I would’ve essentially swapped 1st and 2nd round picks if that happened. I may have reached a bit for Jamaal Charles, but I had no idea at the time how much running backs would be devalued. All in all, I’m happy with my team; a nice, solid group with a very good bench. I will be at a disadvantage during certain weeks of the season though - five starters share the same two bye weeks.
Best pick: Donald Brown, 13th Round
7th pick, Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish): Guess which team Nick roots for? (BRETTFAVREBRETTFAVREBRETTFAVRE)

Although in fairness, he wouldn’t have been there in the 4th round like I suggested when you made the pick. The team as a whole looks good - the RB duo of Stewart and Best is good, and Sidney Rice looks much better with #4 under center, although he may miss the first game of the season.
Actually, that’s true of Nick’s entire team. As BRETTFAVRE goes, so goes the Leatherbacks.
Best pick: Robert Meachem, 7th Round. I think he goes off this year.
The other teams later, because that's a lot of typing owmyhead.
