Crack couples I like or approve of:
Gaara/Hinata (They're EXACTLY what the other need. Gaara needs and deserves a kind, loyal, compassionate, understanding girl in the worst way. And Hinata needs a guy who can understand and appreciate her quiet yet acceptance-seeking nature, and have the type of calm personality that wouldn't constantly threaten to overshadow or intimidate her, all of which would lead to her gradually gaining the self confidence she so desperately craves. And if she were ever to get that self-confidence, the relationship would be even better; they would now truly be strong and confident enough to trust and support each other through the good and the bad. And best of all, Gaara's also got that drive to protect "precious people" and be strong no matter what that figures to win Hinata's heart more than anything else. There's a lot more I can say about this pairing, but it would be way too much.)
Iruka/Anko (At first sight, this seems to be a classic "opposites attract" type deal which should have no chance of ever happening; Iruka is the shy, quiet chuunin teacher at home lecturing students, and Anko is the boisterous, outrageous Tokubetsu Jounin with a penchant for bloodlust. Yet if you look deeper, you can see some common ground. Both have suffered the pain of loneliness or exclusion from their peers, albeit in different times. Both have shown an admirable streak of loyalty to both their fellow shinobi and to the Leaf. And given that they're roughly the same age [Iruka is 23 in Part 1, and Anko is 24], and the path their shinobi careers took [Iruka is the dead-last who's only managed to reach the Chuunin stage, whereas Anko was Orochimaru's hand-picked apprentice and has become a known Tokubetsu Jounin], I can see big potential in a pairing such as this)
Konohamaru/Hanabi (I really like this couple for some reason. Given what we know of Konohamaru, and given what we can deduce from the snippets we see from Hanabi, I can easily see this as a case of a "Rebellious, ne'er do well male melting the noble, privileged female's ice-crusted heart". Except in this case, I bet that if Konohmaru tries to melt Hanabi's heart, he'll see that she's got quite a bit of fire to her, and probably won't hesitate to use it when pushed to her breaking point. But again, they have some common ground; they're both members of famous, respected, and storied families, and they'll both have to deal with that in some way or another. There would certainly be potential for trouble, given that Hanabi is her father's choice to succeed him as the head of the Hyuuga, but knowing Konohamaru [a.k.a. Naruto 2.0], he'll find a way to help them overcome it)
Chouji/Ino (Despite what desaix would say, I still consider this a crack 'ship given how Ino feels about Chouji and how he feels about her. Like a crack 'ship, there's no feelings of romance between these two, nor is there even any interaction that would give you a reason to think there would be, unlike, say, Shika/Temari. This pairing, at first glance, seems like it would be for laughs more than anything else; imagine Ino, Ms. Shallower-than-a-drying-puddle, getting with Chouji, the one-time fat kid. It's even funnier when you consider the scenes in Chapter 174. Still, this pairing certainly has some deep potential in it as well: If Ino were to fall for Chouji, it would once and for all show that she's grown above and beyond her shallow past self. And it sure would be interesting to see just how Chouji would handle Ino's sudden advances, given their past together. If they ever survive the beginnings, they could really have something, given how well they understand each other already)
Those are the big "crack pairings" I support above all, though there are others that I wouldn't exactly hate to see happen.

Good Choices...haha. I'm a big Naruto x Hanabi (second only to Naruto x Ino) and Sasuke x Tenten myself. I like Naruto x Tenten was well, but have yet to find anything with that pairing I truly enjoy.

Actually, Ice Princess is not my favorite, NaruHanabi. I have issues with some of his characterizations. My personal favorite is Stranger than Fiction. It's not NaruHanabi in that they are paired romantically. This fic has no pairings to speak of and is mostly friendship, but Naruto and Hanabi's friendship is featured and receives a lot of intention. The only Naruto is trained before academy fic I've liked.
An author called Surrarin has a couple as well. An Alternate Path is one of them. He's good too, not as good Ice Princess or Stranger than Fiction. He also has one that has Naruto being thrown in the past, but instead of the usual scenario Naruto gets tossed back right after achieving everything he wanted and screws around thinking it a dream.
Unintentional Cryogenics was good, but that fic was taken down a long time ago.

Ah yeah, i keep forgetting about Stranger Than Fiction, i usually dont count it because its not really romance. However its an awesome fic. And ill have to check that author you mentioned.
