Lmfao, are you familiar with CLAMP's drawing style? Sakura and Syaoran would simply have those elongated (and quite unappealing) bodies. Think Syaoran and Sakura from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Gosh, I hated those elongated bodies even though they were only 14. I'd rather have them in this drawing style right now. I couldn't imagine 12 year olds being drawn in that style.
Once they hit puberty or attend High School, I think we can expect them to look different.

Oh I am familiar with Clamp's artwork yes, I read some of their other series partially. The only series of theirs I completed, admittedly are CCS and Chobits. Anyway, on your point about whether or not the current art appearance of Sakura and co. in the current manga suits them, it is just a matter of preference. It is not unrealistic per say, for them to look older or younger than they actually are because that happens in real life too. Some individuals look older than they actually are, some individuals look younger than they actually are. My point was that, in the various manga and anime you see, some teenagers or young adults have the bodies of 10 to 12 year olds, while some barely passed teenagers that are only 13 to 14 look like they should be in their 20s.

 

Do I hate the current artwork of the clear Card Arc? No, of course not. But do I have some preference to Sakura and Syaoran's last appearance in the original manga? I'd say so, but that is just my own aesthetic preference

Good to know you know their other artworks. It was honestly frustrating for me to read Tsubasa, xxxHolic, and Kobato with these body proportions. I felt like some of the characters were giants. No thanks to CCS.

To be fair though, unless there was a translation error, Sakura and Syaoran were actually starting High School in the end of the original manga. At least that's what's been said in every translation.

Fair enough with the preference. I was a fan of it, too. I just care more about correct age representation and, well... The nostalgia factor works better with them being small kids.

If in the CCS's world you can see a ship from Elementary school girl now middle and a teacher canon, that relation would be easy. Unless that girl is a relative of Sakura from the future.
