Yes, I know. I'm just saying the first reaction. There are people that thinks Murata did OPM, which is not true.

Opm is a seinen because the magazine where it publish is a seinen magazine.
But in term of story, it's truly a shonen story.

There are couple of seinen series that has a Shounen story but it's placed in seinen for sake of using elements that aren't allowed in Shounen such as fate worse than death (it rhymes with tape), deep depression (in greater detail), and detailed gore.

I think he mean added detail though. Granted, there are worse, but maybe they couldn't do in Shounen magazine. Who knows, I'm just happy to see OPM, period.

It's not. I just trying to find a reason why it's seinen. The rating system is closer with each other, unlike USA, the gap is pretty big on the difference from rated PG-13 to R.

Nanaenash. I think most of us have long since reach the acceptance stage by this point. Mine was the realization that the reason why kishi went with nH was most likely because he was handing off the series to that pedophile who wanted nH. Since he was done with the series.

I'm ok with constructive criticism, but let's not judge and do a name-calling without any basis shall we? ;) We criticize the products, not the person creating it.

Whatever happens outside of the finished products are just rumors. And we shouldn't spend time on those rumors.

The moment you can talk about this series without holding any anger, grudge or regret signifies that you've moved on. Until then, one might still be be stuck in one of DABDA cycle.

To me, it is a Shonen. Everything about the show is not much different than Dragonball Z and it's gore, if any, is not much worse.

So it is a Shonen. In fact, i am surprised Dragonball isn't a seinen with all the crap it got away with. I am surprised a lot of the shonen are getting away with stuff. Even naruto comes very close to being a seinen and does things far worse than even OPM. So why is Naruto a shonen and not a seinen?

The more as things go, the thinner the lines become.

Like I said, I don't care what anyone says and I consider it a shonen because when I look at the back of the manga it has the words "Shonen Jump" on it. So to me, it is a Shonen.

Naruto has death, impalement, torture, sexual overtones, and the like...so how in god's name is that not a seinen, but One Punch Man who doesn't even have half of what Naruto has is?
 

 

The funny thing is I almost forgot OPM is originally created by ONE, so I thought when you said his art sucks, I thought of Muruta and close to say, "get out."

No, I meant ONE's which I never said it sucked either. I just said it was sub-par. However, what he lacks in drawing skill he makes up for a great story. ONE is actually a genius if you think about it. Even more so that I LOVE his story so much that I don't even notice the art really and if/when I do it is usually part of the charm.

I would agree with this until you remember that the assistant of Kishimoto not only attacked NS fan specifically, but called us all stupid for not "supporting NH and the like." So, to Kishimoto assistant, I don't believe he deserves any respect.

I hold no anger to Naruto the series. If anything Naruto as a series is nothing more than victim by product of people who decided to take matters into their own hands.

My only fault for Kishimoto now is him being unable to take responsibility of his actions and stand up against these people ruining his series.

Well I always thought WSJ is the only to place that heavily relies on rankings (ToC). Basically, you can say WSJ has much more politic involved than other publications.

If you're already have immortality status, you can choose to ignore it and follow your own idea.
ToC give them an ability to create hit series, so far.

Pretty much it starts with politics. Then after establishing the hit series, it lessen. I think Oda got all the sayings in his end.

Lately, it seems like the poll is based on favoritism of a character. If it involved with a hated guy, rank down. Beloved one, rank up.

This series has taken everything from me....I just can't stand the idea of people actually liking Naruto's ending simply because their "favorite waifu" got the kitten that she wanted. How? How can these fans consider themselves anime fans or even manga fans when they look so shallow at this? Worse still when they critique other anime and manga for having stupid or shallow endings, but say nothing wrong about Naruto because of NaruHina became canon and willing ignore everything that is bad about the series.

Reader play big part in this industry.
Thus people who vote usually the one who buy wsj magazine copy every week. They're the one who wsj listened.
But for manga like naruto, kishi doesn't need to do that. Simply because he already have another bargain like his already popular manga. After all the author can choose to ignore the editor advice, for good or for bad.
