We all know, that Asta is going to get his arms back cause plot armor.
It's true that he has huge determination- but he's also incredibly dense and simpleminded. It makes it seem kind of pathetic to see how he just shrugged of the gravity of his injury in just ONE chapter. I'm not saying that they should let this stretch out too long, but jesus, it's hard to take Aster seriously under these circumstances. It's like:" Oh well, not a big deal. I ain't gonna let this stop." Yeah right.
I got this in other light, as it seems with words "now it's full tree" I think Asta is not simple minded and dense as Luffy or some other hero, in that chapter I think it shows that Asta know how bad he was living, and him being happy with simple things not means his simpleminded. He already being told that he would not become magic knight - and he's already one, people said he won't be able to fight without mana - and he's doing it many times now. So I think he's understands that his willpower alone is not enough in this sutiation, but he already went through similiar "no future" situations, and this one kind of similar.
My point - there is more to this chapter (at least I think) than "typical "I WILL BE HOKAGE" motto chapter".
