So, animenewsnetwork.com did its own poll with the favorite characters from Shokugeki no Soma. I think it's quite interesting. Makes me wonder if Japan prefers Tsundere type girls, while the western prefers the shy, nice type girl.

I have no problem with Megumi but in terms of west wanting shy girl as east wanting tsundere, I'm with the latter. Plus I have seen that a lot in NYC in terms of relationship. I just think people would like the former but never have one. I can't say they will be good couple but I do think it's a wishful thinking that they never got one.

Well, casting relationship compatibility aside for now, I'm getting the idea that many fans are getting "impatient" with Erina's mostly stagnant development. They admit that she's started to go through the "defrosting" process, as someone explained it nicely, but it's not enough for them. I like her  though, and I've been warming up to Erina a lot as of lately... I'll admit that fanfictions help me understand Erina's character better.

The author should have given her more screentime, but if she shows up more often when Soma joins the Elite Ten, by the time the manga ends, I hope this will compensate for her lack of presence up till now.

I do like the way the author has been presenting her. Now with Hisako as the wingman, more interactions and hilarity are ensured.

Well, I do think that plays but realistically it is more likely to be another Sakura issue. Except her escape route is being top tier, no one can't touch in combat, and just fun. Sakura got too many for the beginning.

We'll just have to wait and see how the author handles her development, and how the mangaka will portray it. I hope he won't mess it up, for real. Like I've said, Erina's reaction towards the revelation of who Soma's father is will be crucial.

I do think open up with others is first then father. They are separate in a way from her subplot. She has like three.

New chapter spoilers maybe?   Soma why do you keep bringing up THAT? Oh well It means Ship tease to me so whatever.   Yeah I know it's a stretch but the way these two interact just kills me. It's a complete love-hate relationship.

I don't know who Chinatsu Akasaki is, but Nobuhiko Okamoto is the perfect voice for Ryo. Trust me, I've heard him speaking in the lifeless, quiet voice (Shin-Ah from Akatsuki no Yona) that bored Ryo speaks in, and in the action-hyped one (Yu Nishinoya from Haikyuu!) when Ryo puts his Bandana on

Isshiki shows Soma and Megumi the PSD's booth. The food will all be from the garden Isshiki runs.

Note on 芋煮会(imo ni kai) under the panel: something like a gathering where nabe cuisine(stewed food/vegetables) are eaten, usually held in parts of the Tohoku area and Kantou area
Yuki designed the booth and the two muscle boys(can't remember their names) built it. The ladies from the cooking classroom have all already made reservations.

 

Looks like Soma is still trying out dishes and Megumi is the taste-tester.

Alice says she could have had gone for a shokugeki instead to take someone's booth(antagonistic towards Erina.implying she could have shokugeki against Erina for her booth space?). Erina is surprised at how Alice is participating, as Alice had seemed to find the festival troublesome the previous year and had not participated.
Soma greets them "Yo, Nakiris"
Alice: Oh, Yukihira-kun
Erina: Who are you calling the Nakiris?!
Both Alice and Erina give him advice. They tell him how the Chinese cuisine RS has so many repeat customers.
