Yeah, I totally agree with you. Sakura is definitely hurt (emotionally) by Sasuke's attitude. The fake smile which is shown in 474 (page 7, panel 3) is not nearly as forced as the one in 635.

She's not actually looking at Sai when she is smiling, not once does her eyes stray from Naruto and Sasuke's movement. Sai's words could have multiple reasons. it could mean, that what she said is true, but her fake smile tells him she doesn't believe them. Or could mean, her words are true but she's not happy about it, hinting at the possability of her realising that she's over Sasuke..It's something I've been saying for a while, that whilst Sakura is over Sasuke and loves Naruto, her mind has not come to the realisation yet because she never got closure on the matter. Or it could simply mean, even though her words are true, but she knows that Sasuke has an ulterior motive,and it will probably clash with Naruto's ideals. Or it could be something completely different.

Thanks for the detailed reply, James I think Sasuke will mirror Danzo. I'm not sure if Danzo's evil, but I hate him anyway.

 

Maybe Naruto doesn't notice Sasuke's intentions because his intentions are good, but his methods are not. The evil Naruto senses is not their actions, it's the darkness in their soul. (Though the darkness does reflect the thoughts and actions)

 

Sasuke can still very well be evil, Kishi still draws Sasuke with shadows all over his face after all.

 

I am just trying to find a reason as to why Naruto doesn't suspect him, because his face tells me he doesn't. He looks like a question mark.

I don't know if Naruto knows. I think he's trying to relive the glory days, but slowly Sasuke is already shifting his own focus.

I know where you're coming from, she's had enough time to prepare herself mentally for Sasuke's attitude, after all. 

But Naruto is there, too. Her intuition tells her that Naruto and Sasuke might clash soon.

I have the feeling that with Kakashi and Obito, we may get some flashback of a fight rather than just a quick moment seeing them both stabbed. I hope kakashi lives, he is my favorite character. But there will be some growth on Kakashi and things should become more apparent for their conflict. Sakura's feelings for Sasuke and what he is doing though, it will definitely become a major focus in the future. It is possible it will bring more towards NS, simply because if it impacts Sakura it will impact Naruto both ways from Sakura and Sasuke. I really am curious what we will see with Kakashi and Obito though, I really wanted to see a fight between them that would have so much struggle on Kakashi mentally for what he became and what he must to to stop his old friend. Also I liked how the fight was staked against kakashi, Obito could feel no pain and was mostly a zetsu body. I really hope they expand this fight in the anime. But as of now, with the ordeal of Sakura's feelings being negative and untrusting of Sasuke, this could set stuff up for more NS interaction.

I think he just generally views the bijuu as a reason for all the bad things that have happened and feels like the world will be better off without them.  I mean he does have a point in a way. 

OMG just see Sasuke calling Naruto a freak for being a jichuuriki, Sakura will surely hate Sasuke afer that.

I got to be honest, I like the fact this war is getting complex, not like "Hey, this is the happy hour, so the champ is here!" No, if there's anything I learned from other media, war needs to be complicated and downright mayhem from everywhere. So yes, I am happy that Sasuke is in third party to the point that there are few that really don't like it, including Hashirama. There's a post back in NF that pretty much described my feelings for this volume, even though I am enjoying it, I didn't like the happy hour felt, well, happy. It sounds cruel from me, but I already got happy hour from FT and at times, OP, don't need it here. So yeah, I am happy.

*Huge sigh of relief* Okay, so can I just say how twistedly happy I am that Sasuke's still the same selfish, unbelievably foolish brat he ever was?  If it keeps up like this then the notion of him having a "Happy end" is nearly impossible, especially as a redeemed member of Team 7. Which I'm more than fine with. He may have been there first, but that does not make him more deserving than Sai. 

His lack of regard for ANYONE but himself ( and his dead family/pride/honor- which Ironically he has NONE of...) Is just so glaring at this point I cannot see how people can HOPE for his redemption. I just feel done with him.

I've long since recognized that the arrogantly cute little chuunin he once was is never, never coming back, Team 7 has changed, every last one of them. There isn't a place for the person Sasuke is now on it. 


Also, am I the only one who doesn't care about Karin's creepy fetish? she's not really all that important as a character, but I do think she's a clear demonstration of the difference between what people CLAIM Sakura is, and what Sakura actually is. Same with Hinata really. 

Speaking of Sakura...Dat smile...That was so fake even Magoo could see through it. Also, it seems shady. Sai knows she's lying yet Sakura denies it...I think she's up to something...hopefully it's a set up for her attempting to once more engage Sasuke...this time with Naruto...

Sakura and Naruto have both tried to engage Sauske Solo...so maybe this will once more be a set up on the importance of relying on your comrades?

Also...Tsunade did seemed startled to realize that Sakura had summoned Katsuyu...( Totally disappointed no other slugs have been mentioned yet *Le sigh* I mean come on...there HAVE to be other slugs...) I wonder why....and Oh yeaa~ I wanna see what she has to say to her student when they meet face to face once more! 


And Finally... DON'T DIE AGAIN KAKASHI! ( You're missing the Team 7 action ;___; not that you'd probably wanna be there to see Sasuke ONCE AGAIN trash everything you taught him...)

LOL now I get it. It's not a mistranslation. She feels guilty for going into happy and trust mode after 631.

She hates herself for trusting Sasuke, even if it was only for like 5-10 minutes.

Her forced and fake smile could be  a foreshadowing of the Naruto vs Sasuke.

idk why everyone is making a big deal of Karin being a masochist....I mean she has been bitten her entire life so its normal for her to love pain even if its from a man who tried to kill her.  Honestly her body must look terrible if she has been bitten all over her body. Anyways, it's pretty obvious Sakura doesn't trust sasuke and will do something to stop him because when ever Sakura's "fake smiles" come into play she  takes action. Honestly I hope she is over Sasuke because I can't stand him. I think Sai's role might be the kakashi of that book " The Story of an unyielding Ninja (Jiraiya's novel)"  Like the kakashi of that book  He will question Sakura's feelings for Naruto sooner or later.

I wonder how Sasuke's gonna betray the alliance.

 

He can

1. Stab the alliance/Naruto in the back when he gets the chance.

2. Oppose the alliance/Naruto when they go against his methods.

3. Betray them when he realizes some of the rookies suspect what he's scheming, just to get them out of the way.

 

A backstab is the best way for the villains to get a chance, because they have way too many opponents. At least 12 Kage level shinobi, which is the 5 Kages, Edo-Kages, Naruto and Sakura.

There's such a close connection between 635, 458 and especially 487.

She has a premonition of Naruto and Sasuke clashing, in chapter 635. In chapter 484 she thought 'All I can do

is have faith in them'. But now that both of them are actually on the battefield she's got a really bad

feeling about it. 

And it's definitely not Sasuke whom she will 'cheer on'. That's for sure.
