Well so far it's OK, though I'm still early in the game, you get the option of Japanese VA, which is really good. the fighting is similar to other Tales games except when you merge, (Not sure what it's calledin the game) then it's some OP fun. It doesn't seem to be as funny as previous Tales games though tat could just be me being more used to the humour so not finding it as amusing.
One of the best and worst part of the fighting mechanics is the fighting is instant not moving to a different arena like usual, but sometimes the problem with that is the fight is taking place in a corridor and the camera angles become wonky and you end up getting stuck at the edge of the arena and I've dies a couple of times because of it.
Another problem is the draw distance is not great (specially as I'm playing on the PS4.) and number of enemies, I'm used to having the option of fighting multiple enemies after another to grind for XP and materials, but here it feels more sparse.
Story wise it's not as interesting as the previous Tales so far, doesn't help that the charactors introduced so far are not that interesting, with the possible exception of Laila, the other three seem very cookie cutter to me....it feels like they played it too safe with charactor personailities.
It's still early days. and dispite my gripes I am enjoying the game.
