I just think that if Kishi were to show something as important as Sakura's parents, as a debut no less, I would prefer it done in the manga rather than the movie. But if Kishi wants to treat Sakura as the main character, then he should treat her as such, with proper family background explained in the manga.

Oh I agree with that, but if it's a way of apologizing for running out of time to give her an arc in the manga, I'm cool with it. Hopefully, if that is her father, we will then see him in manga canon, even if just a brief scene with Sakura talking to him.

Come to think of it, you're right! He could easily pass as Sakura's father . I hope he his her dad because what kind of herorine would she be if we don't even know her
parents!? Out of pretty much all her teammates(Excluding Sai), we never have once seen any of her parents and that's kind of sad to me. I hope Kishi would elaborate
more on her past besides her being bullied for her foreheasd. Even Hinata has more backstory than her. Or maybe we're jumping to conclusions on Sakura's parents .

For all we know he might end up screaming SHANNARO! or whatever the male version of that scream is, kinda like Naruto and Kushina's datteba(yo/ne). He also seems to be striking a pose similar to Sakura in the right so maybe she inherited her mannerisms from her father just like Naruto inherited his from his mother. That would be awesome.

I would laugh so hard! It would be fantastic- and hey it fits with Kishimoto's love of parallels. I'm just picturing it now- this deep male voice shouting it in the big climatic battle scene with Tobi Madara...

If it's truly Sakura's dad then I'd expect no less from Kishimoto. Although I wonder if Sakura would feel embarrassed about it.

Comparing the arm bands and respective body sizes, the masked man seems to be Naruto. Also, that shirtless version of his is the best costume he has received in the anime.

I feel like a party pooper, but that looks NOTHING like what you guys originally though it looked like. It looks like a woman. It even has something that look like breasts. The only thing is the dress looks like Sakura's from the Part I. Her mother maybe? - If it's her family.

the spiral isn't a family crest at all, it's the symbol of the whirlpool village that kushina came from remember? that was actually talked about by kushina when naruto met her. and all those jonin jackets have them too. it's supposed to be to honor the destroyed whirlpool village and something else if i recall.

It's supposed to show friendship and comrades by the villages, they were close.

update on the movie: appearently all the akatuki stars including itachi konan pain hidan etc are on it as well as sasuke minato kushina and konoha shonobis.

It's something Madara does- you can see it from the poster and what he says in the teaser too "Eye of the Moon plan commence!" That is a genjutsu powerful enough to put everyone in the world under it. The poster hints at Madara using his space-time jutsu with his mask too... So probably not a AU in the strict sense- as in an alternate coexistent place, one that had always existed along side the regular one, but a mass genjutsu place of Madara's creation...
