No, that's where you're wrong. I was taking it from a different POV in this case, how a SSer would see it. And frankly, I might have to agree. If Kishi had done the chapter differently, then there wouldn't be this huge misunderstanding of what Kishi wants to convey.

I disagree. (to SB, that is) Me, miss the point?? WHAT point?? all I know that at face value it can be taken as SS. And really what was the point of Sakura's confession and Kishi's "Sakura being honest about the Iron Country Confession" statement if Kishi had this chapter turn out like this?? granted, all the positive points you pointed are plausible which I agree with Nate on, but to me it feels kinda like a desperate hope clinging to me. I also sometimes can't help but feel some of you act like smart alecs about our pairing and the manga. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but frankly, it's hard to believe someone's opinion as neutral here when we know we're all biased here.

@ciardha: the only problem I have with that is the same thing Nate has a problem with. If Kishi had done this chapter differently, like Nowhere suggested then I wouldn't have a problem with it, because it would make a whole lot more sense and less misleading. If Kishi truly wanted to convey Sakura's was honest about her confession to Naruto, then he would have done it like Nowhere did. But this..... is just downright confusing and I hate it. (not the manga just the way Kishi's going about it) If SS is truly dead and Kishi wants it to stay then why the hell did Kishi do this??

Kishi's not giving me the feeling he wants me to feel. (if he is intending what I think he is intending)

Sasuke has zero interest in Sakura, that I can fully agree. But you know how the theme of this manga is never giving up. So, frankly the way I can see this chapter for SS and from SSer POV, is that through her sheer determination and "honesty" she'll win Sasuke over and that Sasuke will see the "light". That's how I see it from a SSer's POV.

Well, that's enough being devil's advocate now. I'll be going off to sleep.

im not being biased to say that is ignorant. i understand what your saying but you are not considering peoples opinions just influenced by biased people instead of the whats canon in story. take it from all angles is what im saying.

of course you missed everyones point. Naruto is the epitome of never giving up and he won't on Sakura. specially after Kushinas comment. kishi wouldn't just say she was be honest for nothing and not resolve the complicated relationship. he will come back to it very soon. Sakura will have to understand her feelings for Naruto and that will happen. I think that she's not quite sure how she really feels about Naruto, but she's prioritized him over Sasuke often enough to make me have trouble believing in the strength of her feelings for Sasuke. Sakura is the only person of the unrequited sides of the relationships (Naruto ->Sakura, Hinata->Naruto, and Sakura->Sasuke) that has shown any, let alone multiple, signs of having romantic feelings for the requited side of the relationship even tho shes not aware now.

Sakura said during the 2nd reunion that she ''team 7 will laugh together again'' thats what shes what kishi means by not giving up. really all they wan't is Team 7 back. after finding out Naruto loves her, you think shes just going to just accept sasuke when all of a sudden he loves her (OOC i might add and shallow)!and forget about everything shes been through with Naruto?
hell no.. that will disregard eveything that happend with NS, destroys Sakura character as well. thats impossible notion and completley ridiculious. NS is the only pairing i can see happening at the end no doubt.

if you are really a NS fan you gotta agree wit the last part. lol

lol, I was so worried/scared after reading yesterday's chapter that I even ended up having a semi-nightmare last night: some SS moment... something about Hinata, but then Ichigo showed up and kicked their ass!!.. there was even some NS bonus before I woke up, kukuku~ /hopeless otaku have scary dreams/ XD

I've been "love" with plenty of guys over the years, and yeah, some of those stupid crushes are things I would remember if someone told me anyone I loved must be AWESOME. Um, no, they weren't. I'm lucky to be with a great guy now, but that does not negate my stupid likes and loves of the past. Nothing can erase that. You can love, and regret that love, and maybe even cease to love in the present, but the you that was in the past will still be in love.

Sakura loved Sasuke. She really, honestly loved him and believed in him, and he took that love and threw it away. Unfortunately for Sakura, you can't un-love a person retroactively. She's going to have to deal with those scars for the rest of her life. Eventually they'll heal up, but it's still pretty fresh, and it's going to keep popping up in moments just like this.

I do not consider it a regression of Sakura's character - this is a moment of self acknowledgement.

After I cleared my mind of everything bad of yesterday, I came to one conclusion, there's only one thing confirmed in this chapter.... that Sasuke makes Sakura weak and that Naruto makes Hinata strong. Kishi is either a troll, hates Sakura or is a genius because look at the expressions they make, Sakura get's sad and full of regret while Hinata has a determined look. I feel Kishi wanted to make a contrast between Sasuke and Naruto through the girls and I believe that he couldn't use Naruto for Sakura because then he couldn't be able to throw us such an obvious sign that this chapter did not confirm that Sakura still loves Sasuke (in order to be confirmed Sakura needs to say those 3 words, that she already said to Naruto... the same for Sakura's confession, she has to say that it was a lie).

the confession wasn't a lie.
i know she forced herself but she felt those emotions for Naruto when telling him her feelings.
what we know is shes very confused.

@catwho but i don't think it was real love. she never trusted him or was herself around him. it was always potrayed as selfish.

sorry but it does hurt her character imo.
but it is really character development for her to overcome later. witch i know she will.

Bloody hell, this topic really exploded after I went to work! It took me ages to read everything. XD;

I'm still trying to cram everything into my head and organise it, but hopefully I can now say what I feel about this chapter now.

When I first read it, I had a huge kneejerk reaction to seeing Sasuke's face - one of massive disappointment and WTFery. But, after reading posts such as No WhereMan's and Nate's, and thinking about past developments in the manga, I think I can hopefully place it within the context of the manga we have seen so far.

Sakura does still have unresolved feelings for Sasuke. She's still only 16, and she had spent a huge chunk of her younger years chasing after Sasuke. When I look back at her confession to Naruto, it does now click and make sense to me. Right now, Sakura's feelings are a massive mess, and there is no black and white. She has strong feelings for both boys.

When Sakura told Naruto how he made her feel, that was the honest truth. You could see it in her face and her actions. But when she told him that Sasuke meant nothing, that set off alarm bells in Naruto's head - and he told her she was lying to herself. Sakura was indeed lying to herself, Sasuke was a big part of her life and she still has feelings for him. Nobody can just cut those feelings out of their life and dump them in the nearest bin. As much as Sakura would like to just have a simple and happy life with Naruto, the boy who loves her, she can't do that while she still has unresolved feelings.

As someone mentioned the pattern of NaruSaku pairing development (setback, big gain), it is possible that something could happen when Naruto and Sakura are reunited in the battlefield, but we will have to wait and see. After all, we don't know when the manga will end! Sure, Madara is the big bad guy, but Sasuke might end up taking his place and extending the manga by another arc or two.

This is the stage or period in time when Sakura sorts out those swirls, and though it's tedious and takes a long time (or short time if you're ridiculously efficient ), those swirls will eventually be sorted. For now, we'll have to live with the occasional "SasuSaku" (though they're really one sided) moments- but as various others mentioned in previous posts, when SasuSaku/NaruHina takes one step forward, NaruSaku usually jumps 10 times further.

There's actually a saying that goes something like this: "If you love two people, a first and a second, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first, you would have never fallen for the second."

With all that being said, I am nowhere near jumping or abandoning ship- and anyone who believes in good writing and NaruSaku shouldn't be ready to either! Titanic reference: A good captain never abandons their ship.

Great chpater and all, love that Neji was so exhaust that it didn't see the difference between Kiba and Akamaru.

About the whole Sakura thing here's my thought:
Dude: He must be a really great guy if YOU'RE in love with him, and the next panel is we see Sakura thinking about a guy who has a death glare and hell fire surrounding him.

I think that the fact that we have an emphasis on the you're is the thing that trigger Sakura thinking about Sasuke, which everybody knows is not a great guy.
My point is we those two options:

1- This panel was show only for a marketing point of vue just to feed the pairing war( The panel with Hinata support this point, even if it is only an Hinata moment, for an NaruHina fan, it's not ) Showiing Naruto instead of Sasuke will kill NaruHina and SasuSaku for good.

2- This shows the confusion about Sakura feeling cuz she has feeling for Sasuke which she knows will never be return and she has feeling for Naruto too. The confession was not so long ago and for me, the dude just might did the little push to let her feeling for Sasuke. Naruto just "refuse her confession too"(we all know it's only the circumstance), so maybe she tried to still go for Sasuke but just can't and that why she look anything but happy in this panel and begin to try to sort this out.

I won't abandon this ship not till the very end because this pairing is to me the one that make most sense, but not without any trial. Naruto must win Sakura heart, none of the thing he have we're handed to him on a silver plater and Sakura must learn to move on from her first love( It's the last challenge that she have left) which is difficult cause she still consider Sasuke a friend and an important person in her life and in Naruto life. So there is confusion in her feeling and she'll need to figure it out. Abandon ship is like Naruto give up on Sakura( and that ain't gonna happen cuz he never give up);P

For the rest of the chapter

For the action, Sakura was awesome vs the fake Neji and provide crucial information to their HQ. Great, I hope futur chapter have more moment like this.

My theory has for why Itachi and Nagato are put aside by Kabuto must be his way to counter Madara moonlight plan. (You need the mangekyo sharingan and the rinnegan to control the jyubi if I recall correctly so maybe that's why he have them out of the fight for now)

Can wait to see Naruto vs raikage, we will see if Naruto is faster then the Raikage enchance speed and how much he control is power
