Hm, from all I remember, NaLu didn't had ALL that development that previous work of author, just half-moments like he saves her (I don't even remember other way around), but if remember what was bright in FT it was two moments - Natsu saving Erza in tower, and saving kiss of Gajel and Levi. Other than that nothing major as I remember FT and comic-scenes. Don't take me wrong, I'm not against any pairing in FT, apart of Jellal x Erza, that's something like lighter version of SS.

Funny. From what I see on tumblr, GruVia shippers tend to put SS as their OTP with the former being second on their list. No wonder I'm so turned off by Gruvia.

Truth be told If Jellal and Juvia weren't here I'd be perfectly happy with Erza and Gray. they are preferable really

I would put it more as NH, just because Gruvia's only purpose is "Gray-kunsama", other than that Gruvai don't lose all her character (as Erza does around Jellal).

Well I don't see the point of hating Jellal myself but yes as a pairing It seems a bit rushed and under developed if you ask me. And while not like SS there's a pretty broken and distant relationship between them for the longest time

Annnnd our protagonists act like trusting idiots again. This is probally my biggest beef with Mashima writing. He has such an utterly simple minded and naive view about things such as morality and the concept of good and evil. If a villain shows up they suddenly have a tragic sob story that excuses their misdeeds (when we all know a sad backstory explain why you are evil, but does not let you get away with it). If I was there I would be cutting off that girl fingers to get info out of her. You know, for all it's failings, Naruto was a shonen with extremely dark themes and story, so fairy tail being a shonen shouldn't excuse Mashima for writing his story so weakly. Show your protagonists getting their hands dirty, show the villains meeting an bleak end and dying alone without redemption. *sigh* sorry for the rant, but Mashima naive writing really pushes my buttons some times.

Yeah It's true, But like you are thinking though I've seen worse. and the development that came from the naivete is probably gonna pay off I hope. We will, under the best circumstances get to finally see some more back story for Layla since she is WAY more important that initially thought.

Feels odd talking about the chapter 12days after the spoilers came out,

I'm still not sure what to make of Aqarious's return, on one side I am happy because she is the most interesting of all of Lucy's keys with her relationship with Lucy being the most solid dispite her behaviour towards Lucy, and the fact the Cana is close by leads to a possible hilarious confrontation between two charactors voiced by the same person.

 

However her sacrifice was the highlight from the last arc, the choice of breaking the longest surviving bond she had for the sake of her guild was one of if not the biggest moments in the manga, and the way she returned was kinda anti-climatic, don't get me wrong we all knew she would be coming back, but I was expecting it to be later and maybe in a more dramatic manner, and not after a stupid move from Lucy. Seriously how dumb do you have to be to let an extremely powerful magician free and less than a day after she'd shown her how much more powerful she is than her? There is being trusting and then there is plain stupidity. This was plain stupidity.

 

I expect next week we'll find out the truth, maybe find out how Brandish's mother sacrificed her life protecting the key from one of the other key holders or something maybe she used the key's power for a reason and her magical powers were not enough, or more likely it had to do with protecting Brandish, whatever it is not sure it will be compelling enough to bring back Aqairious so soon.

 

As for the battle between Kaguya and the other other girl, I expect we'll see Erza make a return and win dispite being heavily injured because Hiro-sensie is usually that predictable, well he is as far as this manga is concerned.

I agree with this. Overall, it feels like Mashima doesn't know what he's doing. Up to this chapter, I feel like the overall story progression has been confusing.

Didn't know Lucy or Cana can do raging demon. That explains the off-screen beat for Marin.

I'm sorta not, there is tons of same situations where person just bites hand of one who attacks. In previous chapter, that was real suffocation scene.
