I was wondering something... If Neji's death is similar to his previous "death" in part one, I wonder...what about Lee? I keep remembering that "I'll protect you until I die" thing he kept telling Sakura.

I hope Kishi isn't that cruel so as to leave Tenten without teammates, I would feel too bad for her.

The one I wouldn't mind see dying is Gai, but only if he unlocks the 8th Gate. Although given that Neji is gone I don't know how willing Kishi would be to kill of more members of the same team. Although there's still Obito with his rinnegan, the walking deus ex machina waiting to be talk no jutsu'ed.

I think the 8th gate will be seen in this arc. I mean, when will Lee or Gai use the 8th gate if not in this battle, unless there's another fights for them in the future chapters, but it doesn't seem that they will get a fight like this one to use the 8th gate.

The bench scene as stated is not a joke. it is an honest and early paralel between Naruto and Sakura and Minato and Kushina. Given the revelations of feelings and the knowledge that Naruto knows her fantasies as well as she does.

While I agree that it would be bold of Kishi to kill off two members of the same team with such a short space of time between them, I'd would also say that if there was ever a time to see the 8th gate, this is it. The fate of the entire Naruto world is at stake, and I can't imagine a better setting, a better moment than this battle for Guy to show his trump card. The likelyhood of him getting another chance after this is very slim, and even then I don't think it would have as much impact. Guy is among the ones I was expecting to die in the first place; I didn't expect Shikaku, Inoichi and everyone else at HQ to go, and Neji's death REALLY took me by surprise.

It makes me wonder if anyone else I thought would be safe is going to die?
And if so, who?

Yes it was a joke, the scene stated the stuff that you said but it wont be bring up again, even in the joke it stated Naruto's feelings, Sakura feelings and why Naruto loves Sakura, which means he love her insecurities, first time ever that he talked about physical appearances on a girl.
Sakura didnt had any flashbacks about this scene when it comes her thinking about Sasuke and neither Naruto had any flashbacks about it, they wont even talk about this scene.

There's nothing to come from this scene.
He might say those stuff again but without being Sasuke, with no flashbacks about the bench scene.

Exactly. There's no other opportunity for the 8th gate to be used other than this fight, though, we never know what Kishi has in his pack for this one.

I think Killer B might die... and that's it but I'm thinking in a way that if there will be an unexpected death to an unexpected character.
I don't think Kishi will kill another character from K10. Still, there's Tsunade that we're still waiting news about her.

Are you comparing a scene meant for comic relief to a romantic scene?
that scene has no importance to both Naruto and Sakura, kishimoto used a comic relief scene to state both Naruto and Sakura feelings, and explain why the main characters loves her that's it.

How do you claim that scene was comic relief? In that scene we find out why Naruto likes Sakura and he says pretty much exactly what she wants to hear. Where's the comedy here because I fail to see it. One thing I've noticed with you is that you always act as though what you say is absolute when it isn't just like what you're saying here.

Also, if it gets brought up again, what are you gonna say? It's another comedy moment that has no importance to NS? He's the first guy to compliment her forehead. First guy we've seen to want to kiss it. Yeah, that's some hilariouusss stuff right there! I love how it's comic relief without much comedy in it.

So...off topic but... should I worry about IH?? Orihime has gotten a considerable amount of screentime, and her relationship with Ichigo has grown quitttee a bit actually. She's not the main lead but you might as well say she's practically standing next to Rukia. LOL

Orihime is a main character but Rukia is the main female character #1 and Orihime is the main female character #2, so... XD

While Dαrkrєrsŧ is certainly entitled to his opinion, I side with catsi, Strider and KeikoxYusuke. Since I began following the pairing, I have firmly believed that chapter 3's bench scene to be one of the most fundamental events in the development of NaruSaku. In manga terms, this is where it all began; it's a bedrock of the pairing in my view. In the manga thus far, we have not seen any direct interaction between Naruto and Sakura that took place BEFORE this scene (and if we were ever going to see it, it would only be through flashback now). All the same, chapter 3 IMO is where it started, NaruSaku Development Day 1.

Naturally, I also believe that the truth of that event will someday be revealed. I just don't see the point in Sakura never finding that it was Naruto she sat with, not Sasuke.

It has high chances but not that high. Acually, I expect more from shikimaru since he said before that naruto makes him want to walk by his side and all.

The scene was the beginning of the pairing from the first place. It's when we realized that naruto's crush wasn't just because she was some cute girl, but because she was seeking acknowledgement just like he was. And that she was desperate to earn that acknowledgement that she would do anything.( even though she wanted it from sasuke)

The scene in my opinion won't be flashbacked to. Not in the war and not after. And it's not because I think it's insignificent or something but it already was recapped during the POAL. Sakura remembered what she told 'sasuke' and realized hiw wrong she had been about naruto. And that he was always there for her, understanding her the most. So It would be really lame to have another flashback of the same scene.

It's possible that it will be. It's as Quinny said. It's pretty much the foundation for NS, and where we're aware of his feelings for her, and why he does like her. It's where we see Sakura start to view Naruto differently. It's where I started shipping NS.

Also, sure, it was already used as a flashback but it was only used BECAUSE of Sakura. It wasn't delved into so it wouldn't be lame if it was used again IMO. If it were used in Naruto's case, would you still consider it lame? Just asking. I definitely wouldn't, and if it were addressed, it'd be pretty awesome IMO. I want to see her response to knowing that it was Naruto who transformed into Sasuke.

I agree with you for sure. I think it should be known to her that it was Naruto. The response is what I would love to see from her. It'd be crazy if Sakura holds that moment in her heart because she was lead on in a way by Naruto unintentionally...
