So you meant both of them are near death and she runs to Naruto first?

either near death or they actually die. Hagoromo says that both Naruto and Sasuke will die. In the OVA we see Naruto nearly dead with Sakura crying over his body so she will probably run to his side

Several (as inplausable as they may be)

 

-Kakashi and Sakura talk about how her confession was just hot air due to the desperate situation

-Sakura explains the differences between her love for Sasuke and her love for Naruto and how greatful she is that Naruto was by her side

-Naruto and Sasuke "kill each other" Sakura runs to Naruto's side and Kakashi comments that Sakura's heart led her to Naruto as instinctively as the one she loves and he tells her this

-Sakura indirectly tells Kakashi that her love for Sasuke is more platonic

 

those are just off the top of my head.

Alright. Well, we shall see what happens then. (Although, I think we have gone past the point of anything becoming "implausible.")

but Kishi must have known about this OVA which makes it unlikely

Who can say there will be further SS 'development' after this? Like others have said, it's the final nail in the coffin.

 

And about this whole silver medal business, regardless of what has been said in this chapter, I still believe Sakura will choose Naruto when given a choice between the two of them, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the story is setting itself up for that.

 

I think there's a chapter where Sakura thought to herself that if the both of them were injured she would have to decide who to heal first? Maybe I'm thinking about the anime, but anyway I think the story is setting itself for that.

 

Sakura's romantic relationship with Sasuke has always proven to be immature. My impression of this chapter was that it was a final, desperate attempt to bring Sasuke back from madness. What Kakashi said wasn't exactly false (though rather gross use of words I agree), he and Sakura were talking about feelings in a past tense.

I guess I'll just wait for the next chapter and see where it all goes. Hopefully, Kishi won't just put this entire confusion to the sidelines.

 

We need something that better explains these events and we need it soon.

Honestly I'm getting tired of Sasuke at this point. He's a whiny little kitten who thinks he's had it bad because of what happened to his brother, and that's why he thinks he has the right to do what he wants too. I'm sorry Naruto, but I know you're all about your bonds, but do yourself a favor and get rid of Sasuke. He's bad for your health. Do an Optimus Prime to him and make sure by the end of this day one shall stand, one shall fall.

Its consistent with Kakashi's words about Sakura' love for him being more platonic. Her love for him is like Naruto and Kakashi's love for him. or She loves him but doesn't want to be with him romantically any one of those is better than.

The thing is from  the beginning with her angry look  it seemed like she has given up on love with him , but then we got this confusing piss of kitten .  Also Sakura in here with her speech finally admits that no matter what she can't/isn't the one to save him  and then Kakashi goes to explain that she only wants that the reason she loves him is bc she wants to save him . 

 

Now how I took  this is that I think Kishimoto hammered SS even more with this bc he made the reason for Sakura's love to be bc Sasuke is a social nut case , and this is not a reason for having a romantic feelings in any way in fact this is ridiculous ,  plus the fact that Kishimoto even made Sasuke to ridicule her  by saying she has no reason at all   . So if Sakura loved Sasuke just bc she wants to save him and she finally brought herself to admit that she can't and ins't the one to do it  then what is left for SS from here on ? The answer is NOTHING! except Sakura realizing that she has no reason to love Sasuke and finally getting out of this clusterkitten that this was not true love , I really think that this was the final nail to the coffin once you gather everything  the stabbing she got trough her heart is symbolic to this  IMO

That Sakura is unable to do something positive or negative... In a nuteshell, she is able only to do NOTHING with him. Still confirm that she cannot save him, as SS fans wish so... She wasn't, isn't, and never will be the one who will save him. She herself admits her failure, the failure of being able to do NOTHING with him
