YES, that was an AWESOME chapter, I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!! My main concern is that Natsu doesn't have Fire Dragon King magic any more -__- BUT oh well I hope he gets another powerup just as badass!!!! but damn that was probably his only chance at killing Zeref. Although of course that'd mean killing himself too and everyone would be sad. Plus no more Lutsu

I'd hazard a guess that Anna is either a ancestor of Layla and Lucy, and/or she'd left instructions with the Celestial Beasts to pass on the instructions to the holder of the keys to open the gate on that day. (Remember the stupid training arc, where they spent in the spirit world for a day and lost a month) For humans 400 years passed for spirits only 13 years have passed. Layla was in bad health at the time if I remember, so it's possible the strain of opening the gate cut her life even shorter, she knew she was dying, that's why she gave away her keys to others with the promise that the keys would be returned to Lucy when she was old enough.
 
This was a good chapter, similar to what I expected from the Hiro-sensie that wrote Rave master. Was hoping would be something similar here but we'll have to see how things go, I have my fingers crossed for a time travelling twist like his past work

MS version says the dragons hatched up the plan with Anna's clan. So it's likely that Lucy and Layla are descended from that clan.

It rather implies that someone was meant to open the door in future and die!
That was Layla (if Layla died,Anna died too probably )

hew I've been a way for quite a few days truth be told I've been studying hardcore for finals week for this week, and thankfully I passed Economics with flying colors only got  Government, Math, and Bio to deal with wednesday trough friday  anyway... haven't read the chapter as you can already tell.  I will do my live reaction for this week's chapter later tonight, and I'll save Boku No Hero and Tokyo Ghoul for tomorrrow since my schedule is mainly open then this week as far as catch ups go. 

 

Ah man I remeber what a pain finals can be, but I see you're doing good so congrats. I hope we didn't spoil anything for you since you didn't read the chapter before writing this.

No there's supposed to be a break. Last week was a double issue. But sometimes we do get chapters/spoilers early this time of the year.
