You are not alone! I really loved the story and the message Kishi gives. Watching that movie made me go through a roller-coaster of emotions. Its very rare that you get such  levels of emotions watching an animated film. Absolutely Brilliant writing. Out of all the scripts Kishi has written/drawn for Naruto, I love RtN the most.

Yeah  especially when you realize that Naruto never had a sense of true and real family and never spend times with his parents and get their full love that really break my heart especially when he was leaving and thanking them for everything it pretty much told you how happy he could have been this whole time .  Kishi did very good in here with NS also by first introducing the dynamic of NS in short and more simple way how it started P1 and then how it developed and turned out to be in the end P2  and this was done on purpose  meeting the parents  was a bonus for us and big kitten YOU to the NH/SS Lol  I loved it so much XD.

 

I hope this movie is as good as this one since its by Kishi as well though I really think its an AU version bc of their appearance since Naruto resembles a what if Obito and Sakura is very much like Rin with a bits of Kushina also .

Since when grossing rates a movie?
There a lot of masterpieces were launched recently like Transformers Age of Extinction.
The fact is that a lot of things can contribute that made Naruto gross higher, the amount of advertisement i personally thought it would be a nice movie packed with action and we would seen more action from Minato and etc...
And we got a family themed movie centered about feelings of Naruto's loneliness for his parents and a souless villain to be defeated in the end.

I never said it was a masterpiece, nor anything about how good it was. You said it only pleased NS fans which is clearly wrong because it's the highest grossing Naruto movie (something doesn't have to be good in order for people to enjoy it).

The begining and the end, plus a dependence towards Naruto until the point she goes to end the genjutsu by herself.

Kishi said that he made Sakura's (and Naruto's) personalities at the start of the movie close to the personalities they had at the beginning of Part I, so as to show their development throughout the movie. I dunno what's wrong with her at the end or how she was dependent on Naruto.

Look at Sasuke, they launched products of AU!Sasuke, make a lot of pairing advertisement for both NS and SS but the guy barely has screentime basically he only appears three times.
And to finish up, being honest Road to Ninja "Title name" had nothing to do with the story at all.

To me, that was to drive up interest for the movie (and exemplify how the characters have opposite personalities in the genjutsu world). Haven't you ever seen a trailer of a movie and when you watch it in theatres one of the scenes you saw in trailer wasn't in there? Besides, Minato & Kushina were at the foreground of the poster along with Naruto, and there were interviews with Kishi and the cast talking about how the movie is family and all. People may have missed that because they were too caught up with the AU versions of Sasuke and Hinata.

I'm not sure when the Sasuke perfume came out, but I think it might've been afterward. But either way Sasuke is an extremely popular character and, unsurprisingly, the AU version of him turned out to be, as well, so of course they'd capitalise on his popularity. Not sure what that has to done with whether or not RTN is a good movie.

The movie started with a joint cooperation of a few minutes against zetsus.
But nothing else more.

Her approach with Naruto? Do you mean rejecting his date request with "we just went on the longest date ever!"? That is a FAR cry from "You don't understand me, if Sasuke was here he would understand me." She did learn her lesson, that was the point. She developed in the movie. What more do you want?

I do seem to remember someone (probably the VAs) mention the family scenes and all, before the movie aired. And we were shown clips of the Uzumaki family from the movie, and the scrapbooks of them with Naruto as a kid, playing with his parents. And if the audiences didn't like it the film wouldn't have been so popular.

Every Shippu movie so far had bits of NS but not as much as RTN  I call it "Meet The Parents" or in this case Haruno's and Namikaze/Uzumaki familly Lol XD .

The first one didn't, in fact she didn't really seem to care when the psychic predicted he would die. 

 

I like how Luffy is counting movies that Marvel doesn't even own the rights to.

There was a scene of her crying at his grave and screaming his name did you missed that one  , not to mention her reaction when Naruto misunderstood and agreed to the the girl's question  about wanting his babies     .  Like I said small but they are there .

My opinion of the Naruto Shippuden movies: first two kinda sucked (but had a few really enjoyable moments), Lost Tower was better (having Minato was a plus, too, lol), Blood Prison was fairly good (I liked it), Road to Ninja was and is the one I like best and feel was better overall. For me there was lots to like about it, not just Minato (even though I was fangirling pretty hard over that, he's my favorite character).

My opinions are based mostly on my personal enjoyment, and what I personally was able to excuse under "suspension of disbelief"...perhaps I do have a high tolerance for that.
