Yea I was a fan the entire time, but I didn't really care so much, just because their wasn't that much emphasizes on romance, but I really really got into it after not only the tenchi bridge scene,(when she started crying for Naruto) but when Sakura brought Naruto notes and food while he was training, and they showed her thinking about him in her room and they showed that Naruto slept with the notes near his heart.

Also If her confession was true at 469, what comes next? I always feared that Naruto will just never get over that and Sakura might think Naruto doesn't like her and might suggest Hinata to go for him or something...that always scares me, cause it sounds plausible.

I had another thought what if Naruto ends with history repeating itself and Naruto now the Hokage and married to Sakura has to seal up the 9 tails in his son, but this time Naruto refuses and kills the 9tails or seals it back in himself.(that's just an outline, throw in some epic post marriage Narusaku moments and just some epic Naruto moments in general.)

I think we are all worried that this thing will play Boomerang and turn around in a direction for the worse. Although as far as the story goes right now kits leaning twards Sakura, it seems Naruto and most readers have disraguarded or forgotten about Hinata since you barely see her at all. I can't but feel Kishi is gonna string us along(which means he'll turn it away fron Sakura and to some one else), alteast in the back of my mind, or parts of it. Anyways I'm just gonna hope for the best. You all know about, what was it, chapter 450? Ya know, When Sakura hugs Naruto. I think that turned the tide strongly in our favor

Yeah I get that feeling too honestly Don't know why but maybe its because this is taking too long and we're all feeling the anxiety but for some positive reinforcement smile.gif IMO I'm sure Kishimoto made Sakura with the intention of her getting together with Naruto from the beginning its just he made some changes along the way whether it was by choice or his editor's suggestion. Heck Sasuke wasn't even supposed to exist in the initial idea so maybe the love triangle thing was just to develop their characters. In fact i read in one of my manga drawing design books that its a common technique for romance development to make make a rival so that would make motivation for the guy or girl to make their move and confess or what not because if its just the couple and they're too shy to even talk to each other the plot will have already hit a brick wall because there is no progress between them and though it doesn't it doesn't apply here it worked out pretty well I find because their character development was even further enhanced because Sasuke entered the picture so I'm sure the general plot including Naruto and Sakura's relationship was already planned out. It will just take time to settle everything with all thats happened and the changes made. But you know I would like Kishimoto to expand the plot even after the war( maybe reach 1000 chapters) wow.png and and make new villains and such. Yeah that WOULD be much to ask and Naruto has had a very satisfactory run so far So I'm content either way to be honest I just got the idea because Oda said One Piece is now at its half way point. And I guess some part of me doesn't want Naruto to end while One Piece is still running and actually I heard that Dragon Ball was actually meant to end after the Frieza saga but fans kept writing letters to Toriyama to continue the series so I could Imagine Naruto going through the same thing maybe

I got to know about pairing wars only when I started to read fanfiction, barely a couple of years ago tongue.gif .
Previous to that, I didn't have any strong preference, I was just going with what Kishi wanted to show us and anyway was more interested in the adventure side of the story. In fact, I only got interested in the romahtic part when Naruto made the promise of a lifetime to Sakura to bring Sasuke back....that was when I sat up and thought Whoa....That was indescribable ...and then and there decided that Naruto will have to finally win the heart of Sakura.

Same here.

No worries my friend I'm sure there are lots of fans that did not give much attention to pairings and thats okay Whats most important is that you love the series and you are welcome here regardless of what pairings you support or even if you don't regard pairings at all the only thing that will get someone kicked out is trolling/bashing, tarnishing or insulting other members' beliefs, thoughts, or opinions. THAT is taboo here mad.gif

Yea I would love for the series to continue with new villains and such. If it did end up boomeranging that would suck so much.

Yeah I didn't even know there was such a thing as PAIRING WARS until I discovered you could watch Naruto online then... ._. well I got stuck in this war... lol

It was Digimon that brought me into the pairing wars, and then NaruSaku came right around afterwards and I hooked on hoping that I could actually take part in it instead of watching the aftermath.

For me it was Inuyasha, and much like NaruSaku I had to defend my pairing from crazy bashers who only watched the anime and it was almost impossible to prove something never happened in cannon. But I learned my lesson and now try to steer clear of those kind of forums.

I am in the same boat as you, I watched Digimon and I didn't get the pairing I was hoping for (Tai and Sora) That pairing not happening really scarred me and that is why I am so worried about Narusaku. Taiora had so many moments, but out of nowhere she ended up with matt. After the show ended and sometimes to this day I read about who could have been and feel left out. I personally have a goal of being able to re-do digimon for the sake of that pairing.

Yeah I feel the same with Digimon when Matt and Sora Happened I blew a fuse that equaled to nuclear warheads and the Ironic thing was that Tai and Sora were actually supposed to have a platonic relationship in the original TaiXSora only existed in the American dubb I am SO going to GIVE IT to those american dubbers for messing with me like that (gathering flame bombs, smirk*) mad.gif Oh and while we're on the subject I was also hoping for DavisXKari too heheelq7.png because T.K.XKari is well... don't know how to explain it but I'll attempt to make sense its just that Tai, Matt, T.K. and Kari are all already close to each other and treat each other like family, I mean Tai and Matt act like older brothers and care for eachother's respective siblings when the other is not around so T.K.XKari is... BORING since they are already close and know and look up to each other's brothers almost as much as their own they don't need any development so I was hoping for Davis but in the end they all went with other spouses which isn't totally devastating since at least the other shipping didn't suffer... hehheh so despite these shipping scars I still firmly believe it will come out as NaruSaku because it is heavily implied in the manga and if we're wrong then fine nothing we could've done Kishimoto must have had a change of heart(and a very random one at that) and we'll all get pissed off and rant and rave and start venting our anger in some way eg. taking NaruHina pictures and start shooting at them rolleyes.gif (I don't mean this literally so settle down NaruHina fans) but the pain will stop eventually and we'll cool down at some point so lets all hope for the best despite overwhelming evidence that our couple will shine through

Lol yea I could not take it when Digimon ended and it was not Taiora and it still pains me to this day shamefulcry0js.gif. Although I have much more confidence in Narusaku you never know what could happen, but if it did I would probably never recover sad.gif Btw i can't believe that the American dubbers did that and didn't even finish it off right, whatever lets go NARUSAKU!!!!!!!!!!!!! narusakuct7.gif

The first anime/manga I can recall having virulent shipping wars was Ranma 1/2, the very same words were used amongst western fans to trash Akane as are used to trash Sakura (with them being even more screamingly wrong and stupid when used to trash Sakura.) Akane basically created the full version of the tsundere girl, (the type had gradually developed from it's origins in 1972 in both Shonen and Shoujo manga. Kaori of City Hunter (begins publishing in Shonen Jump in 1985) is the step of that type character right before Akane. (Ranma 1/2 begins publishing in Shonen Sunday in 1987 and basically creates that type shonen manga romance storyline.)

In shoujo manga that type romance dates back to 1972 with Riyoko Ikeda's "Rose of Versailles", closely followed by Machiko Satonaka's "Tomorrow Will Shine" The shoujo version is more realistic than the shonen type, the shonen type emphasizes the hot temper in a humorous way, where in the shoujo version the emphasis is on her strong will making her a heroic figure, either as a fighter or an achiever who overcomes the barriers in her way because of gender expectations and/or social class. Rose of Versailles does the former, Tomorrow Will Shine the later. Sadly, neither have been offically translated into English... both are impressive stories in and of themselves, and also for being what makes the foundation for the character type in shoujo manga.

Honestly I do not find anything wrong with Sakura, I do not know why some people do not like her. The only thing I do not like is how could ever hold any type of feelings toward sasuke, because the only thing that was based on was the fact that sasuke is good looking ( so I presume lol) and talented. Either way from what I hear the ladies think Naruto is pretty good looking. I believe Naruto's dad was liked by all the females.

Yes. But there is also he fact that she is a TsunDere. People may not know the violence is for humor and may take that seriously. Especially in the anime. Yeah is is stupid that she could really. I mean honestly, her feelings do not remain at all today. All that was was, I think, her knowing that Sasuke has had it rough and some illusion of his old self. (Apparenty Naruto looks good too now but he didn't back then lol.)

Well, I'm ashamed to say that had I been a 12 year old girl, and given the choice between Sasuke and Naruto, I would have definitely preferred Sasuke. That (usually) what 12 years old girls are about... tongue.gif . We have zero sense at this age...
Come on, at the beginning, Naruto was loud, obnoxious, has little to zero culture or manners (would slurp food messily, burp, fart etc), whereas Sasuke was quiet and cool.

But of course, growing up, you get to see beneath the surface, that's when Naruto surpasses Sasuke in term of interest. I find it to be a logical and very natural process: at 12 years, girls are more interested in looks (generally, of course there are exceptions) and growing older, they acquire more wisdom and knows that looks does not matter.

I don't blame Sakura for being infactuated with Sasuke at that time, though I give her real credit for still admiring Naruto as well since the beginning (this is shown in MANY instances in the Manga). In fact, looking at it, I would go as far as to say that Sakura was MORE supportive and admirative of Naruto than Hinata even during that time, but since her infactuation with Sasuke was more emphasized, the attention was taken away from it and since Hinata was always blushing and fainting, it was quite attention grabbing.

That's why I like Sakura. She is what in reality millions of 12 years old are about, though many would deny it.
And that's what makes me qualify Hinata's love to be actually more a type of veneration and esteem (he represented freedom when she herself was bound in a rigid clan) rather than actual love.

At least Sakura doesn't stutter and faint, lol heheelq7.png

By the way... I'd have been into Naruto, I could not stand Sasuke's disgusting, constipated attitude! Naruto is energetic and acting like a boy, I'd have been into him from the start, plus he's simply an adorable child! ._. Sasuke is so cold.

OK, I'm maybe not a 12 year old girl(more like a 22 year old girl) but I understand them going for the good-looking silent type. Also, as someone already pointed out, Sasuke had a tragic and sad past that left him cold and introverted. A very common flaw among not just girls but full grown women is the desire to 'save' the guy who doesn't want to be saved thinking they'll cure everything by loving him.

Sasuke was way more attractive than Naruto in part 1 of the manga even with the constipated attitude(lol), but in my opinion he lost his appeal in part 2 when he went totally nuts and started acting like the biggest *ss. Naruto on the other hand matured but hasn't lost his boyish charm. But I still couldn't call Naruto hot or really god looking.
@bthug, I also think Minato must have had a lot of fangirls, he's better looking than Naruto and has a calmer personality.
