The sad thing is my girlfriend really likes it. But, a huge but, she hasn't gotten it done, so that means the worst has yet surface in her. She doesn't like Twilight. In fact, that's her torture device on me if I don't do things right. She will read it and I have to listen to it. Anyway, the point is this series got my head shaking really, really bad. Hell, you want to see characters being destroyed? Try that. Don't ever talk crap on Sakura after that. EVER!

So she likes it but she still hasn't reached to that part ? Oh boy and you haven't told her about that ? Lol  Why do I sense that you might be in trouble after she reaches that part

I was thinking the other way, Sakura(Hinata) dies after became canon, then Naruto  taking care of  Sakura(Hinata) everyone wins.

Pretty much, turn Naruto into a massive harem. Everybody wins after that

I know it's not likely to happen. All I'm saying is that I would rather have her lead than Hinata.

 

As of now, I don't feel like she is. How can she lead a clan when her priorities are Naruto and nothing else? And she finally learned a technique that Neji learned 2-3 years ago. That's some very slow progress.

I don't think you're being fair here. Neji was a genius who was regarded as having the strongest Byakugan of his entire clan. Furthermore Hinata has shown that she has the resolve to lead her clan. Her having an interest in Naruto doesn't change that. I know she's from a rival pairing but we should still see her as a ninja.

I have no damn clue. All I know is I wished that the mangaka was a guy, so I can spear him heavily. This...offended me.

How many times has it been shown in this series that hard work and determination can compete with genius? Hinata's resolve tends to come out when it has to do with Naruto, I would be pretty surprised to see her gather her resolve on her own. With all the Naruto thoughts she has, I find it hard to believe she even wants to lead the clan.

 

I dislike Hinata for her character only, I could care less if she's a rival to NS.

When ? When in this entire manga she has focused on her clan rather then Naruto ? There is hardly any mention of it or focusing in her leading the clan . Her interest in Naruto  its what makes her fail so much she does so many mistakes since her entire focus is on him and disregarding everybody else in the process that's hardly a quality of a good leader .

 

Sorry but I think luffuqy1 is right in here , don't get me wrong that would be nice for her as a character if she starts thinking about the clan and get of Naruo's kitten  but I believe that when I see it  maybe the IT dream is the solution for this ?

I think what Branden meant is Hinata being clan-leader in the end makes sense from a story-writing point of view.You mentioned Hanabi and Neji were better suited for being clan-leader. But Hanabi's not important to the story and Neji escaped his cursed destiny like he wanted to. Hinata getting this role makes perfect sense.

 

While its true that Kishi has not done a good job of potraying Hinata's resolve for being a clan-leader, one cannot deny this was meant to be Hinata's destiny all along. Hinata's journey in the entire manga has been about evolving FROM a shy, useless character who used to look up to Naruto for inspiration TO become a ninja capable of leading a battle and being an inspiration to Naruto. This developement in her character has already been shown. Hinata's own father did not believe in her abilities and used to put her down. Neji used to do the same but Neji changed his view about her. Her story is a lot similar to Naruto's. That's why she has the same nindo . She will finally succeed in making her father acknowledge her and make her clan-leader. This would be the best ending for Hinata's character.

Making Hinata leader of her clan would be great fro her character, because she is more showed than Hanabi and has "something" to do with the story in narutoverse, but... on his father's eyes, if Hinata has improve, don't you think that Hanabi who was always better than her, wouldn't improve even more? i know she's not showed but it would make more sense in the point of view of her father. i know, he would be proud of her and all, but she's still more weak than her...

oh, but i'm thinking now about this... so, uhm, how it works? Hnata's father is from the main house but his brother is from branch house, but first of all, their father was from the main house, right? so, ... Hanabi should be part of the Branch house?
