If I read that right he said he wanted to get at least 10 volumes, so my question is how many volumes did it get thus far or how many will it get with chapter 43?

And to think, this manga isn't even a year old and it's already dead.  But yeah, this is going to solidify that Kishimoto is no longer lucrative as a manga author to Shueisha and given how Boruto's manga been doing both sales-wise and story-wise, it's going to be next on the chopping block.

Depends. I don’t know how many chapters per volume.

Most manga tend to average around 4-6 chapters per volume. So, at most, Samurai 8 will probably only equate to four volumes. So, less than half of Kishimoto's initial serialization goal.

it'll be 5 Volumes in total because Volume 4 just came out recently in japan.

 

 

Basically Kishi was able to accomplish at least half to what he wanted this series to reach.

 

 

I will say it is sad that Kishi never got to complete his run here.

Kishi really should have listen to his father and brother when they told him his manga work wasn't good enough. His art is okay he should have stuck with that writing is something he should have never done.

I think it reach about 4 or 5. Oh wait Lucky answered. The manga volumes were not selling in Japan and each one was getting was getting lower and lower sales. It apparently did great on mangaplus. You know the free site you don't have to pay for reading it?

This is apparently strike one for him; he still has two more for Shueisha. That company works on a three strike system for their mangaka. Though this probably did revealed their are more problems than just the pairings.

Power Levels...Lucky read more than I did but to be honest I didn't care about this. Though the manga had awful pacing, but it doesn't have to do with power level its more the romance and kishi wanting to get into space.

 

The art is inconsistent and busy. Can be incomprehensible. I like part of the design but... Yep.

 

He had a new editor who was new as in green so he could what ever he wanted compared to Naruto where he where their was a lot of editorial mandates. True, but they are wrong yahagi was the one that made kishi go forward into the chunin exam instead of spending more time with team 7 focus. This again is more Kishi wanting to get the story to go into space where it really shouldn't have until it firmly established the setting.

 

The lack of community...Ie The fanbase wasn't interested as they are with Naruto/Boruto. Well, that's what happens when his last work pissed his customers in the home marketo f Japan that decides if the manga live or dies in its first year.
