Pretty much exactly what Tax-Man said - nothing is guaranteed. The best term I think would be "most likely" to occur out of its alternatives, given its development and focus in the manga thus far. wink.gif

No biggie cool.gif

YES @ the bolded part - I feel exactly the same. I never really liked NH, even in part one, but I didn't really like NaruSaku either until near the end of part one and the beginning of part two. Then I was able to go back and see all these signs that I had completely over looked before (like Sakura's blush and "What is this feeling? This is Naruto!" back in the Land of Waves arc).

I can see where you're coming from, and would agree if not for two things :

1) It's true that the original japanese version is "ヒナタ....あなたは...ナルトの事..." Which is literally, as you said, translated to "Hinata, about Naruto you..." However, if you look at the proper, formal, romance movie phrasing for a love declaration is "kimi/anata/omae/anta [insert person's name] no koto ga suki/daisuki da/de/desu/datte/datta"

For example, what Sakura said to Naruto in her confession was, "アンタの事が好きだって" / anta no koto ga suki datte

Therefore, the only thing missing from Sakura's statement "Hinata, Naruto no koto" is the 'ga suki desu'.

2) I have trouble in seeing Hinata being the focus of Sakura's upset feelings, as she is imagining a smiling Naruto in her minds eye, with Hinata herself nowhere in the panel.

It is Naruto that Sakura is focusing on, while thinking of Hinata's feelings for him. Hence, why I think that it's a moment in which Sakura's romantic feelings for Naruto are being subtly hinted at.

I sure hope so laugh.gif I think we've still got at least one or two more moments coming.

That the pairing becomes official in the manga (ie they actually get together in the story).

Considering that Kishi said that the Naruto and Sasuke fight was one of the last in the manga, I doubt it. There will possibly be an epilogue, but I'm pretty sure that this is the last major arc in the series.

It doesn't make a difference is Sasuke comes back good, because he's never shown any romantic interest in Sakura in the entirety of the manga. He was never interested in her that way, and him being redeemed and returning to Konoha isn't going to make his suddenly fall in love with her when he's never shown any inclination of doing so before.

I definitely wouldn't worry about Sasuke returning Sakura's feelings.

I'm loving the posts in this thread! Especially ciardha's, tricksie's, Rikudo Sennin's, and The Tax-man's.

nah this is the best post ever biggrin.gif

@ Paptala ^^

1) i've said (and i know) it's obvious Sakura is talking about Hinata loving Naruto, i'm not contradicting this at all, and the translation of the sentence doesn't change anything. =)

Ah, my misunderstanding then. I thought that you were saying that the "Hinata, about Naruto you, " implied to you that she's focusing on the situation, and wasn't thinking about Hinata's love for Naruto rather than the situation that Hinata herself was in.

So, and correct me if I'm wrong, you believe that Sakura is empathizing with Hinata's love for Naruto, while I feel that she is bothered by the realization of how much Hinata loves Naruto.
QUOTE
2) I think Sakura imaging Naruto in her mind is just Kishi resuming things in one panel ^^ If we exchange place with him, it's a good way to make things understandable to the readers. To me, it's no need to picture Hinata in her mind since she's already in the panel.

Hinata's not in the panel at all.

  • Only Sakura and Naruto are in the panel
  • Naruto is the focus of her mind's eye
  • She is thinking of Hinata's love for Naruto
  • She clearly looks unhappy in the panel

I'm not quite sure what you mean by resuming things though. Could you maybe try to explain that better to me? sweatdrop.gif
QUOTE
I understand why you have this opinion, and i actually think myself it's a narusaku moment hinted a little, but i'm not seeing it the same way, like i said before. I really don't think Sakura is thinking about herself here, like someone said, i really don't see her asking herself some questions like "am i worthy of his love" because it's just not the moment, she's healing Hinata and concerned about her (and empathizing a lot). Maybe she thought a little about Naruto, but it's essentially about empathy to me. Although, the fact that she imaged him smiling could be a little hint of her own feelings, implied by Kishi. Your points are good i will be thinking about it ^^

I don't think Sakura is thinking "am I worthy of Naruto's love" at all - she couldn't be, if she were so shocked by Sai telling her that Naruto loves her. At this point in the manga, Sakura doesn't know Naruto is in love with her.

What I do think is that Sakura is bothered by the realization of how much Hinata loves Naruto, but doesn't quite understand why. It goes back to my belief that she does hold romantic feelings for Naruto, but (at least at that point in time) hasn't realized it, or is still confused about what exactly it is that she's feeling for Naruto.

Though I definitely see you're point, and she could be empathizing with Hinata's situation as you said. The beauty of that scene is that it can have multiple interpretations - it can mean one thing to you and another thing to me, which makes it all the more interesting to discuss.

Either way, we're all supporting NaruSaku in the end. thumbsup.gif

@Living Lavish : Thank you! : - )

Awww I'm hoping for like a ton more, one every episode would be nice haha, now I'm just being picky.

Considering that Kishi said that the Naruto and Sasuke fight was one of the last in the manga, I doubt it. There will possibly be an epilogue, but I'm pretty sure that this is the last major arc in the series.

Awww that's also a shame, in the grand scheme of things (Naruto's life and age) he's still got a lot left to give.

So I've been thinking about a couple of things and I'm gonna put them out there, I would like to hear your answers, criticism, compliments, and all other responses.

First off I couldn't help but Google Naruto's Mom to see what see looks like and OMG!!!!! First off she's hot and secondly (more importantly) she looks like Sakura just darker hair.
Which is ironic cause Naruto's Dad has lighter hair compared to Naruto. I also read that she is a lot like Sakura, in the way they act and also how she didn't think Naruto's Dad could become Hokage. So this is hopefully foreshadowing.

Secondly I was thinking about writing Kishi a fan letter and I was wondering how do you think he would feel if I threw in a couple of Narusaku moments? Now don't get me wrong I'm not going to go and demand and rant about Narusaku, no one would like that.

Third (and forgive me if something like this is actually happening or happened, but I'm only on episode 78 of the anime) so I was thinking(while I was sleeping) about creating more Narusaku moments (as you can tell I LOVE and am OBSESSED over them) and I thought of literally an amazing and really cool thing that could take place and it would even intertwine with the actual story arc. I am thinking about making it into a fan fiction, but I would love and it would probably make my entire life if it actually took place in the anime/manga. So here it goes( I'm not going to tell you the whole thing, at least not yet)......Sasuke wants to make Naruto feel the same pain as he does so he plans on killing everyone that Naruto LOVES. He decides to start with Sakura and plans to kill her as soon as she steps outside the walls of the leaf village(Maybe you see where I'm going with this, if you do wow props). (Naruto is away training or on a mission) Sakura leaves the village at night to chase an image she saw outside her window. When she's out she realizes that it was nothing and sasuke strikes her, fortunately for her she was turning around and sasuke misses and slashes her arm. Then he fills her in on what he plans to do, which is kill everyone that Naruto LOVES. Sasuke decides to slowly kill her and make her suffer which in turn would make Naruto suffer. They begin to fight and sasuke is slowly cutting her apart. Sasuke decides to make the final blow and throws his sword, Sakura lets out a cry for what seems to be her calling for Naruto's name, but is interrupted by hearing the word Sakura slowly whispered in front of her and she opens her eyes and its Naruto (who didn't see that happening). Naruto asks if Sakura is okay, she says she's fine now that he's here and she says but Naruto the sword and Naruto replies with don't worry he missed my heart. ( I know corny, but I'm working on it) sasuke recalls the sword(idk how, using lighting) and Naruto falls on top of Sakura ( they exchange words, I'm babbling and probably wasting your time, hopefully not so I'm going to wrap it up for now) Naruto gets up wobbling to fight sasuke but saskue is still bent on killing Sakura through out the fight with Naruto, but at every attempt Naruto either takes the shot or blocks it. All this happening in front of the leaf village( if you catch my drift, once again I give you props).....k that's it for now, sorry about that.

I also wanted to add ( yea yea I know does this kid ever shut up dry.gif ) but I have to say this again and I probably will continue to do so, but I love this site, this board, this thread, all the people and their opinions.

I have to agree with Paptala that the panel is really about Sakura's muddled feelings towards Naruto. Not so much a why does she love him, but more of a wow, she really really does love him. Sakura already knew way back when that Hinata watched him all the time, and perhaps could have thought Hinata either had a crush on him or admired him, but now Sakura sees that Hinata loves him. I always thought it was interesting that the person Kishi chose to put emphasis on Hinata's confession wasn't Naruto at all, but Sakura. It's not Naruto who is struck by the weight of it, but Sakura, whose love is constantly evolving compared to Hinata's. Sakura has little reason to be worrying over Hinata's love life, but she has every reason to worry about her inability to define her own. I think that is why she looks so sad. Hinata knows exactly how she feels, and has for a long time. But Sakura doesn't, or when she thought she did everything changed. What Sakura probably does know at that point is that she depends on Naruto a lot. This could even be a tie in to the incoming guilt trip Sai presents. Naruto really is her strength; Sakura just needs to come to terms with how she can deal with this and not feel like she is burdening him.

Agreed. She's just linking the pieces together from what has happened. Sakura had been worried about Naruto and did all these things whenever Naruto is in trouble or working hard. Like during the 3-tail part at the bridge and Naruto's wind-element training where she constantly observed him. Everyone knows Hinata has feelings for Naruto. And when she sacrificed herself to protect Naruto, Sakura remembered all the things she did and was starting to think that maybe she has the same feelings for Naruto just like Hinata does.

Well put. Definitely. Sakura is upset about her inability to clearly define her feelings, while here you see Hinata throwing her life away just to give Naruto more time to live. It's pretty crazy, and profound. Sakura is a confused girl O.O

Well I can't really say what Sakura is feeling about Hinata loving Naruto honestly and all in all It could be interpreted in a thousand different wayes and maybe we're looking into it too deeply for instance I would say maybe she was anxious about Hinata's love for Naruto or maybe envies Hinata for doing that when she could've done the same(well its possible right?),or she MIGHT be confused about her own feelings for Naruto as some believe. My point is we can view any of this in any way or angle but we still might be wrong (just saying) so whatever it is the important thing is NaruSaku is starting to emerge more and more so that makes me happy but of course this is a debate thread so we must have these discussions

1.) Yeah, it's most likely foreshadowing, at least from what I've heard (I don't read the manga, I just look up NaruSaku spoilers). Kushina seems more like a tsundere like Sakura, plus she was self-conscious about her hair as a child (Sakura was self-conscious about her forehead). Kushina also told infant Naruto to marry a woman like his mother, so that's even further foreshadowing, in my opinion. I mean Sakura and Kushina aren't identical by any means, but if you compare the characters, Kushina is A LOT more like Sakura than Hinata, who I consider Naruto's only other plausible romantic interest.

2.) Yeah, go ahead if you want. Just don't be too agressive. I've heard rumors that some NaruHina fans have ticked him off in the past with fanmail, so I don't want him lumping us in the same group.

3.) Nice fic, though Sasuke seemed a little too focused on Naruto for me. Sasuke's goal is to kill anyone associated with Konoha, including Naruto and Sakura. I do like the 'take a bullet for you' NaruSaku moments though. I feel like Naruto's done it a few times in the anime already, and I'm sure you've seen the great moment and the end of the Kage Summit Arc. wink.gif

Yes, to me it's more empathy than anything else, but i think too about what you said, and totally respect your opinion. It's just that i don't see it at all like that.

QUOTE
Hinata's not in the panel at all.
Yes my bad, i thought so because Hinata is in a lot of panels in this part of the story. It's true she's not in the panel, but i think there is no need to show Hinata, because it's obvious she's the subject of the attention here.

QUOTE
I'm not quite sure what you mean by resuming things though. Could you maybe try to explain that better to me? sweatdrop.gif
I'm sorry my english is not so good ^^' I was trying to say that showing Naruto was a good way for Kishimoto to illustrate Sakura's thoughts. I think it wasn't necessary for the autor to picture Hinata too, although Sakura is thinking about Hinata's feelings, the only character missing in picture was Naruto. You see ? ^^'

QUOTE

I think it's possible, but we don't have a proof of it. It's true she looks unhappy in the panel, but to me, she's empathising with what Hinata have done. She understand why she've done it, and she knows the desperate feeling you feel when you run at someone to save him. That's how i see it. Yes, I read it the same way you do. I see it as empathy too. Sakura already is very aware her own love for Naruto, and equates Hinata's actions with her own when Naruto went 4 tails. As I said, as far as she knew Hinata didn't arrive until Naruto went 6 tails, and she was probably figuring Hinata did the same thing. Sakura is a highly empathic person- Naruto even comments on this during the rescue Gaara arc.

I feel like Naruto's done it a few times in the anime already, and I'm sure you've seen the great moment and the end of the Kage Summit Arc. wink.gif

Thanks so much for reading all that and giving me your opinion. Lol I do the same thing and just read or look up the Narusaku spoilers.
Yea I don't want to be aggressive, I'm not even sure I am going to do it, I have a lot on my plate right now so maybe later.
Again thanks for reading my story, I'm glad you appreciated it, I too LOVE the "take a bullet for you moments".

(just bringing something up)

Dude if you put it like that you make it sound as if Sakura is their daughter. We don't want this forum to end up supporting incest now do we? huh.gif
