I hope they don't get married period. Jellal is a waste of space, hope he snuffs it.And? Since when does it matter who you're trained by? Ultear was trained by Hades but got beat by Gray. Hades was "trained by Zeref himself" but got his ass kicked by Natsu after he ate Laxus' lightning. If you're not stronger than somebody, you're not stronger. End of story. Him not being able to break it makes absolute zero sense. Everything about Jellal is terrible, including his weak plot line.

I pointed out that it wasn't a matter of magical strength, but a psychological problem on Jellal's part. The brainwashing wouldn't have happened if he wasn't mentally vulnerable to begin with. It's the same thing how extremists/rapists control their people. They take advantage of their victims' psychological vulnerability to control them.

Once they have gotten their grips on their victims, it is rare for them to escape it.

I thought my Natsu\Erza shipping days were long gone, but have to admit Erza faith in him certainly sparked my interest in the pairing again, well I usually give the whole Juvia's jealousy trope a pass, as it I try to see the supposed (failed) humour in it, but adding Natsu to the list of potential love rivals for her might be a step too far even for me, the joke is old feaking let it go already.

There is definitely no way in hell this won't end badly for Natsu. In fact, this might be a good time as any to finally kill off Happy. Zeref did say he wanted to bring true despair to Natsu, and I can only think of two people at the top of Zeref's list to kill to bring Natsu to his knees. Happy and Lucy.

This would finally give Natsu the cold harsh reality check that his selfish attitude is a danger to others. Even the commotion in the guild is a very good foreshadowing. I won't be surprised if one or two of the Ishgar Gods fall after this.

Lastly, it would give that Chappy moment in the chapter a whole new dimension.

I thought it felt a bit random until they explain Gray's concern with Natsu. It's like why start now but at least they explained it. Granted, it was obvious, still, it felt like "I must be angry because conflict was needed within." At least it was cleared out already. But damn, the chapter was just a big tease until the end, which I look forward to see how that's going to play out.

I doubt it while he doesn't shy to kill character at rave in ft he doesn't kill makarov nor ultear.
I don't think a series need to go all dark and grim.

It doesn't. It's not like that. Makarov could still die though. Maybe it will be a backward saying of "third times the charm." Ultear's ending was appropriate to me since she did a lot of bad deeds, so if death can't occur, taking your lifespan is another one. It's ironic and sad. It's like how some OP characters get other fate that isn't death since that series has no death policy.

Yeah I mean I don't hate Juvia but this one dimensional personality of her's and her Gray only obsession is WAY past ovestaying it's welcome Honesltly there was so much potential for her character and oppurtunities for to show genuine bonds with others but NOPE she must be addicted to the drug that is "Gray-sama"

Personally speaking, I felt this wasn't a very good chapter. If Mashima wanted to write the 400-year flashback, it should've been right after Mavis' story. It would've made more sense narrative-wise since the pacing at the time was just right for a flashback arc. I don't know about you guys, but I am scared that this is going to fall apart like Nardo did. I honestly can't see where Mashima's going with this.

On the other hand though, Mashima has been notorious for throwing massive curveballs at us. So we'll see.

On another note, Layla's name comes up again... I really hope we'll find out what the heck is up with her and how Lucy will play into this.

Here's an ironic thought too: What if NaLu was planned out by Zeref and Layla? Lucy, who, for most of her life had been controlled by her father and tried escape from his grasp, ironically ends up playing into Zeref and Layla's plans, and that her meeting with Natsu was pre-destined.

I thought it was good though I know what you mean. While I am curious in a good way, I am ready for something that shouldn't happen or rather a bad idea being executed. I don't mind all that much with him getting beatdown but I would if he's done and out. That would be a huge "HUH!!!" moment for me.
