So I'm sitting here watching the most recent reviews, looking at how fast they get up-votes...the ones with less stars have more and get more up-votes than those with more.

Why would an author ruin his 15 years of work, it just doesn't make any sense

How can somebody waste almost two decades on a story and then just utterly make it kitten in two chapters  

I keep asking myself the same question. And I can't come up with a satisfying answer.

The most obvious answer is money. But when you think about it hard you'll realize that that answer is flawed.

Because this won't bring him or SP money. There a more fans of the story than there are fans of the pairings. To put all your money on NH just to try to please the west is insane and a stupid calculation.

 

The majority in the west pirate this story. I mean come on who here read the chapters and watch the anime online from free raise your hands. So no money from the west, at least not as much as they would've wanted.

The only explanation that I can come up with is that SP (probably) paid him a lot of money to make it in such a way to continue with part 3. And he just didn't care if the movie or part 3 will bring in money because he already got his paycheck. And now he's going to Disney Land.

According to this person (who obviously praised the movie as you can figure from his 5 stars), he says in the end the only unusual thing about the movie is the amount of negative reviews with 1 star that are in that site, and the opinions he has gathered, both in his vicinity and on twitter, from NS fans are nothing but like "I think NH has been made good".

 

though that "Twitter" in romaji is a suspect to me. mmh

Kenshin end on happy ending in the manga. The Ova just an adaptation from the manga.

Not all thing need happy ending. But yeah japan has that kind of kitten.
But at least their school girl could beat any supernatural being in their horror story.

As for sailor moon, now I can see how that can be a musical. It could actually make a sense in a way

The sailor moon musicals are fantastic...lol the acting is a bit weird though.

As for the bleach ones, they pretty much erased Orihime and Sado from the story line which was not okay to me.

So they are going to milk off the SS fanbase too. I bet most of the general fans including NS fans won't be sticking around to see part 3.

 

SS fans will probably rejuvenate the fanbase....a large majority of the complaints after all was that there wasn't enough Sasuke

Yea that last part is what got me, with him complaining about NS and Nh I was like "hmmmmmm..." and then  mentioning twitter which doesn't seem to be very popular in japan as far as I can tell ( but I could be wrong )

I mean the OVA that depicted the youth of Kenshin and his first love, not the one where he died from disease. Is that one non-canon too? I've always thought it was one of the BEST pieces EVER done in animation, it has no flaws.

I started the Kenshin manga, but I didn't like it too much for some reason.

If this is the case, karma is going to eat him up, vomit him, and then eat him up again

I believe karma will get either way though, I hope . I really do love literature and what kishimoto did is just an insult to good story telling

The last post on Chatte's tumblr page about Myazaki's love stories just made me realize that I almost never experienced a positive love story in anime\manga (well, in those mangas\animes that mattered). My favorite Cowboy Bebop ended dreadfully in romantic sense (Faye oh Faye), same with Samurai Champloo (why did they have to go separate ways), same with Code Geass (oh poor CC), same with all my favorite Myazaki films, same with Onizuka, same with XXXholic (she can visit once a year and married another guy while still confessing on the telephone, seriously??), same with Ruroni Kenshin (that OVA was ugh), same with TTGL (my Yoko's heart was broken TWICE and I'm not even gonna start about Shimon), same with Evangelion (perverted as f***), same with D.Gray Man (made a tragic hug between characters and got canceled right after), same with The Girl who lept through time (now it was the time that destroyed love), same with all Makoto Sinkai's movies (if 5 sm per second is not heartbreaking I don't know what is), same with .... I give up, all these are my favorites and they all depict tragic love.

 

Of course I liked a lot of manga with no romance like Hikaru no Go or Death Note. I don't consider shoujo as well.

I think that in my list of favorites only FMA resolved romance positively. I am probably missing something but this is all that comes to mind and it is all tragic. JAPAN WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! I've spent my childhood consuming anime, why do I even still believe in love? It is all death and separation.

I also sat there and was only like ... why ... THE kitten WHYYY?!?!?!?

 

Expect Hunger Games - almost everything I shipped more or less sunk or was left upen endet with a hint in another direction.

And while I'm writing this, I'm getting sad again ... I just can't belive what happened to Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. I was so sure of it, EVERYTHING hinted in this direction. EVERY - kittening - THING.

rurouni keshin and its ending was a masterpiece. And Kishimoto has only to suck upon it.
