It was still pretty obvious if you were familiar with some of the comic timelines, IMO. I'll give you that Richard in that TT wasn't very Richard-esque. It was more like they grafted Tim's personality onto Richard's future, lol.
Yeah, but what I meant was that the tv show wasn't like the comics and in fact kind of existed in their own realm. It's like the Marvel movies. Yeah, they contain similarities, but they don't really follow a corresponding comic. It was it;s own thing, not really a direct adaptation of a particular comic.
In the comics, Robin and Starfire were a huge on-again, off-again relationship that ended up going back and both all the time. They never really stayed together that long or stayed apart that long. In the TV show, however, it ended with them just getting together so I could say that in that particular story they got together and stayed together.
If Kishi has to choose between resolving the romantic subplot or having Naruto and Sasuke fighting/flashbacking/flirting talking to each other, well....I highly doubt he'd choose the former over the latter.
But, from what I can tell it seems MS got it more or less right there. Classy.
I wonder why MP got it so wrong this time... MS is usually the one that's pretty off.
Well My automatic bing translator can barely translate it to broken english but from the looks of it....i'm not sure the closest it comes to it I think is when bing translates what he said as "she wants the stuff for you"
And according to Sasuke Sakura only loves him because she feels bad that she couldn't stop him......what the kitten is Kishi doing

Yes, because that's what this incident in the manga is about. It concerns the logic behind Guy's decision to commit suicide for the sake of his personalised, self-obsessed connection with Lee. I know this might come across as ludicrous to some, but the level of heedless fanaticism that his quote reflected during that conversation reminded me somewhat of Naruto's resolution to die with Sasuke if he couldn't be saved in time during their battle. That statement just flew in the face of every relationship that he's ever had with anyone, including his love for Sakura, and the hopes that were resting on his shoulders(excluding Itachi's). Again, their deaths would not impact just them, many people would be suffering as a result.
Looking at this situation from a strictly emotional point of view, I would still argue that Guy's decision is bringing about more harm than good for other people. I'm sure the rest of his squad has at least developed a grudging respect for him throughout the many adventures they've doubtlessly had with each other. And what about Kakashi's fondness for Guy - the deep-rooted understanding that they've had for each other since Guy first branded Kakashi as his rival when they were children? Is Lee really worth leaving all of these other connections and the grief that will be inevitably felt behind?
You are just not getting what I am trying to say. You want every action to be logical. It just doesn't happen that way, even in our lives!
You are of the opinion that ninjas should only stick with logic. I disagree. They are allowed to get emotional, they are allowed to like one person more than they like everyone else. They are allowed to decide what they do with their lives.
Shinobis are not robots, they are humans too.
You are not considering how emotional that particular scene was. Why is it wrong if Gai decides to pledge his life to make his student feel better and helped him to get stronger?
You can clearly see just how much Gai meant to Lee in this episode. You can see how important those words were for Lee.
You keep saying logic, logic, think about how the others are affected etc but is that thinking the most accurate?
I will give you an incident similar to this. Just like Lee was the most important person to Gai, The Leaf village was of the utmost importance to Sarutobi. What did Hiruzen do at the end? He decided to and actually did sacrifice his life to protect the Leaf Village.
Now, can I use this 'logical' way of thinking and criticize Sarutobi for what he did? Can I say it was foolish of Sarutobi to not consider that his family and Konohamuru would be left devastated by his death? Can I say it was foolish of Sarutobi to not realize that the Leaf would be left leaderless and possibly in a state of panic and power-struggle?
Can I apply this same logic to Minato too? Can I say he was inconsiderate of his son when he decided to sacrifice his life to protect the village? Can I call Minato a terrible father for letting his son grow up as an orphan?
Logic is not always the right way of thinking. Logic can contradict itself sometimes. One must consider the emotional aspects too.
You're describing the underlying motive for Kishi to withhold training and screen time from Sakura. From an in-universe perspective, this negligence still reflects poorly on Kakashi's teaching abilites because of his unwillingness to do anything to help better one of the core members of his squad. How do you think this would have impacted the cohesion of the team if she can't even recognise the blurs that her teammates have become?
I don't recall Kakashi needing to stand next to Naruto when he was being taught how to properly harness his element. Even when you factor in their similar styles and the Chidori being a completely different technique than anything Sasuke had ever used up until that point, much of the time spent would have been just practice. You mean to tell me that Kakashi couldn't reallocate a small bit of that time where he was just monitoring Sasuke's efforts towards giving Naruto and Sakura some instruction of their own?
Let's not forget that Kakashi wasn't even approached by Sasuke for training until a week or two after the one month hiatus had started. Kakashi should be offering to train Sakura for the simple reason that he's her teacher, it's expected that he'll play a part in her growth. It's a much better use of his free time than lounging about reading Jiraiya's books.
I am talking about the plot, what happened in the story. You are talking about an 'what if' scenario and this is just a fanfiction.
Again, I repeat- Sakura was supposed to be weak and she was supposed to feel useless. At that point, she was someone who was more interested in love-life rather than being a good Kunoichi. This is the plot.
What might have happened if Sakura had more interest in being a better ninja, what might have happened if Kakashi forced Sakura to train more......These questions only Kishimoto can answer
I'm looking over the flashback in question, and there's no specific date for when the conversation took place. Naruto continued receiving training from Jiraiya after the Chunin Exams and there's a window of time between the Sound/Sand Invasion and Search for Tsunade arcs that's unaccounted for.
But its a little bit obvious isn't it? Jiraiya suddenly shows up to train Naruto after the preliminary round of the Chuunin exams. And in the flashback, Jiraiya specifically asks Kakashi to focus on training Sasuke and to leave Naruto's training to him.
Well, That was the conclusion I came to anyway.

'No matter what I do, I guess Happiness is a feeling that I'll never experience'
LOL the Bing translator has the POAL as, "Sakura-chan and I promised long ago." That's not right.
As for MP's incorrect translation, it wasn't incorrect...so much as the grammar was incorrect. English can actually be pretty hard for non-native speakers. I don't think the guy knew just how much of a difference adding a 'd' onto 'love' would make.
Finally now the kittening about RAW can stop . Now can anyone kindly translate this kitten as most accurate as it can to us so we can move on thanks .
As Rikudou informed us before....MS got it this time. Good that he informed us before. We atleast got time to brace ourselves......and prepare ourselves. I am indifferent to it now because I want to watch why Kishi did this. He SHOULD have a strong reason for the kitten he did lately.
Though I am not sure about Kakashi saying "All she wants is to be yours" part. Maybe @Hiraishin can clear that up.
@Pepsi Sasuke saying that makes sense. I made a post long long ago saying why Sakura's crush prevailed until this long because of defection of Sasuke from Konoha. He leaving all of a sudden and leaving her feelings, although superficial, hanging, left an impact on her and since it was a deep impact, 'I love Sasuke' got fixated into her mind. Not to forget unreciprocated childhood crushes are hard to forget and it is all the more difficult for sensitive people. Ask me about this. So I think I do understand Sakura a bit in here.
It is much like a toy we want from the bottom of our heart. You go to a toy shop. You like a toy. You want it all costs but your mom denies it and then you cry and break your head and do what not to get it. Then too you don't get it. You grow up and after some time, the same toy comes to you and you get an opportunity to be with it and this is when you realise you didn't even need it in the first place because you don't enjoy playing with as much as you thought you'd and that's when you realise, all that breaking and all was a waste and all for nothing. That's what happened to Sakura. Seeing her object of affection vanish right before her very own eyes left an impact on her and since she never did get to play with that 'toy', she is still breaking her head over it and that is why I say Sasuke getting redeemed is a must for NS which means that he will APPRECIATE Sakura and then she'd come to know what really her feelings for Sasuke and Naruto are.....Unless Kishi gives her toy back to her, she won't realise she didn't need it and she'd break her head over him, all for nothing. She can get back her toy only when Sasuke is redeemed....and then she will come to a realisation much like we come to, towards that toy....I hope I explained it well. If not, I can try to explain it in a more simpler sense

Still doesn't make her seem mature as Kishi wants to portray her any normal person would have learned from this mistake. I don't think Kishi's ever been in a realistic relationship before he married.
Speaking as someone who did fall out of love, it really isn't as difficult as a process as Sakura as making it out to be....and that's not taking into account Sasuke trying to be the ninja equivalent of hitler.
I get Kishi is trying to portray her as "knowing whats best" as well as "never giving up on her nakama" as per usual shonen manga but her love being the core part of it is what makes her a laughingstock when it comes to heroines. Its a really easy problem to fix especially for Kishi who doesn't even like SS and loves NS yet he clearly is trading quality (reception) for quantity (cash) them pairing wars are keeping his wallet fat after all.

While I don't think it is for keeping his wallet fat...but regarding the development and pairings, well that's Kishi for you XD

The shipping wars are actually mostly a Western thing. You know, by the fans who don't pay him any money for his work. I think he's just a weak writer. This is all typical Shonen style stuff. Never give up on someone, friendship is an actual power, anyone can be saved, blahblah.
