I feel much better after discussing with everyone here.
I was sorta worried after reading the new chapter.
Mainly because everyone I know in real life isn't NaruSaku.
They were gushing about Sakura's emotions.
About how it meant that SasuSaku was becoming canon.

I have to head off to bed though.
Unfortunately, I have 12 hour clinicals for nursing tomorrow.

Yeah lol in reality, Sasusaku is about 99.9999999999999999999% dead because of this chapter. The only way that could change is because of sasuke which i dont see him just doing a 180 on his personality. As it has been shown his clan is the most important thing to him, and he will not stop his rampage of killing until everyone that reminds him of his families death is dead. That means konoha itself. I came to this realization, and then laughed bc it effectively left naru/saku in the running as the only candidate for a pairing if this manga should end with one, because as it is sasuke couldn't even come back to konoha without punishment even if he wanted to

Anyhow, basing on Karin, her flashbacks, and what she has done to Sasuke,
I think Sasuke will cling to Karin.

for a dumb reason it cant be called dead till the manga is over as i hate to admite it

thats why i said its 99.99999999999% dead lol the only way it could happen is if sasuke came back or sakura abandoned everyone, and as we see the latter isn't happening. And Sasuke would have to have a personality swap, and have alot of leeway with everyone which would be a serious cop out if kishi did that. So logically it is dead, but tis not our manga so we cannot be sure.

I say he could be redeemed. It doesn't look likely, but he could, the only way to without any reprecussions would be through death. Otherwise he is pretty much looking at a death sentence when he returns home either that or life inprisonment

But sakura also has strong feelings for naruto as well and she knows naruto loves her as well.
Her feelings on sasuke were all based on fake. I think chapter 3 will be brought back again

Lets see... I think that next chapter, Sasuke might unleash Amaterasu on Naruto and Sakura and Naruto has to avoid it while protecting Sakura.

I wonder if there will be a small talk between Naruto and Sasuke... hmmm.

Since the "confession," I have been sitting back and waiting to see where this all is going. This chapter gave me some new thoughts that I would like to share.

1. Sakura will probably be stunned that Naruto came to save her. I think that the results of her confession were very deliberate and expected. Her feelings were and still are too jumbled to say that she loves Naruto with conviction that he could believe (I do think that she loves him). She intended to relieve Naruto's burden of POAL and at the same, create negative feelings for her so that she could go after Sauske and kill him. She might have thought if she died, it would not hurt Naruto as much. Also, if she was successful in killing Sauske, it would not hurt Naruto as much because he already had negative feelings toward her. She did not count on Sai revealing the truth of the situation. Plus, she may get to see the true strength of Naruto's feelings for her. After all she had just done to distance herelf from him, he still came to her rescue!

2. Naruto will get to see the true depth of how warped Sauske has become. BUT, what will he do? Will he determine that Sauske is now evil and must be destroyed. Maybe...but that would go against many of the themes this manga has been building on since the beginning. While I do think that he will come to terms with what Sauske has become (solidified by his attack on Sakura) I don't know that he will come to the conclusion that he must be destroyed. In the fight with Pain he was posed an impossible question, but he was able to find an answer. Will he be able to do the same here? Will he throw his promise and ninja way out the window, or will he stay true to who he is? Or, will he become determined to do what must be done for the good of the ninja world if a combination of words and combat are not enough?

3. Kishimoto has done a great job making Sauske look unredeemable. While I do think that Sauske has moved beyond the point of somehow leading a normal life, I don't think that it is out of the question that he could see the light before his death. The reason I believe this is that Madara has manipulated Sauske into making decisions that he believes are his own. Everything has gone according to Mardara's plan. Who's to say that Madara told Sauske the entire truth of the clan's destruction. I had originally thought that Itachi's gift to Naruto would be the ability stop Sauske's genjutsu. Now, I'm not so sure. One of my other theories now seems more plausible. That is a genjutsu message to Sauke to reveal the truth of what Madara has been doing. Did Madara unleash the Ninetails on the villiage in order to stoke the viliage's distrust of the Uchiha clan, thus setting the chain of events in motion that eventually lead to the deaths of Sauske's family? Did Madara assist Itachi in the mass ^_^acre? Did Itachi later realize this and use his place in Akutski to get close to Madara and attempt to kill him? Did his attempt fail and force Itachi to tranfer his abilities to Sauske in hopes that he would succeed? Was this why Itachi was not at full strength when fighting Sauske? Would any of this make any difference to Sauske if it were true?!!!!

4. The relationship between team 7 may be the focal point of an upcoming conversation. Sauske is out of chakra and nearly blind, Kakashi is out of chakra, and Naruto is no longer in Sage Mode, so my bet would be on talking the next chapter or two. Naruto may reveal that he had a conversation with Itachi. Naruto may ask why Sauske was about to kill someone who loves him. Sauske might divulge the truth about Naruto's feelings from the very beginning in a very dismissive way(meaning bench scene revisited). Sakura may finally turn the corner in coming to terms with her feelings after hearing this and seeing the hero vs villian in action. The question is will Naruto be able to plant a seed of doubt in Sauske's mind about what he is doing? Naruto has now seen things from the perspective of revenge, felt the temptation of letting it consume him. However, he was able to overcome revenge and found his own path. If he finds the words to cast doubt in Sauske's warped mind it will be very interesting.

In any event, there are a lot of ways this could go, and I'm excited to see what happens next.
