Well, I've read many comment about SS, NH and yes, even NS fan and while I don't want to be disrespectful of their choice of pairing, I've realize most of them are too blinded by their own belief (not all, some can very objective). They consider Sakura's confession a lie but by doing so, they belittle their vision of Sakura. When they say that it was a lie, they forgot that Sakura make a silent promise that she wouldn't do any more mistake (and it not Sai nor Yamato-taichou that said it but her). I doubt that the very same girl that no longer want to make another mistake and want to stop causing Naruto's pain would use that knowledge to stop him from his never-ending quest to rescue Sasuke. The simple fact that taking advantage of the knowledge of him loving her, even with the good intention to stop him for pursue Sasuke, would be cruel if she lied when she said that she love him (and again, a very bad mistake). Also, after she left with Lee, Kiba and Sai, the Sai-clone told Naruto that she already knew what would be his answers if she told him the reason behind that confession, and that when, after that, Yamato-taichou said that she never meant to tell him the truth about killing Sasuke in the first place. Again, if she never meant to tell him the true reason behind that confession, why would she make that confession in the first place? She could have make her speech without confessing her love to him. However, the fact that she confess her love or not, wouldn't have change his answer.

Karin being a human lie detector has nothing to do witrh this scene. Her words were rhetorical. She was saying she must love sasuke too jsut like sakura said hinata must love naruto a few chapters back.

as it was brought up to me in a PM and here again in this thread ill answer both here.

The Confession was Honest and Real.

the only part where she showed any sign of lying was when she spoke about Sasuke. specifically the rookies decision about him, and her own feelings towards him. and even then she was at least partly honest since the reasons she gave naruto for not loving sasuke any more were all valid.

when she said she loved Naruto and why she was being 100% honest. Her determination to save him combined with her having seen him grow and change over 460+ chapters at that point lead to that moment.

had Naruto said yes they would have gone back to Konoha and once naruto was safe and sound. Then and only then would she have gone to confront Sasuke in whatever way was needed. her reasoning would have been to eliminate the threat to naruto and Konoha as well as save sasuke from his darkness.

guys this is the NS fandom, i don't mind if someone says SS is dead...or NH is dead...is the NS fandom...lol we celebrate the good moments, and mourn the bad ones.

For many that is true, but glance of some of the posts in the debate thread or chapter threads. In many circumstances they are more about SasuSaku fans and their behavior then they are about the merits of SasuSaku.

And for me personally, that's actually my biggest gripe: When boat rocks a little people freak about more about what SasuSaku fans are doing than about SasuSaku happening. I don't mind debating them, but outside of genuine debate, who cares what they do?

I am not debating either. I am just saying that first rule of being a fan is never giving up even if the odds seem off. You continue to root for your team even if you knwo you are going to lose because you never know when the next victory will happen. When victory does come, it is that much sweeter.

It's like a Red Sox fans. They never lost hope in their team even when they never won a World Series.

That's all I am saying.

As for Karin being a human lie detector.....maybe, but remember she was dying and perhaps wasn't really using her power. Unless she can ALWAYS detect things no matter what which seem implausible.

It is also not that hard to read Sakura's love affairs. It's so obvious that she was in love with Sasuke. Emphasis on "was." Things seemed to have changed now.

I would like to ask how do you know that Karin is a human lie detector. I know she's a sensor but I don't recall her being able to sense when someone is lying.

It strange, when I read that part in two different site. On the first site, Karin say ' and she love him too...but...' while on the other Karin say ' She must love him too...but...'

There isn't much difference but on the first statement, Karin mention it as if she know it ( if she's, indeed, a lie detector like you say, then that plausible. If not, I doubt that she would be certain of that fact)

On the second statement, she assume that Sakura loves him. To me, that statement seem more plausible because she does't know Sakura so I doubt that she could be certain that she loves Sasuke.

However, you mention an interesting point. She could still love Sasuke (she never did said that she didn't love him anymore) and yet loving Naruto in the same time.

the theory is that lieing creates fluctuations in ones chakra. Karins abilitiy to precisely sense chakra enables her to perceive those fluctuations hence making her a natural lie detector. i believe this to be the case as well since it makes sense in the scheme of the manga.

however it has no real bearing on the scene as it stands. since most of it happened right in front of her. her thought that Sakura must love Sasuke too was arhetorical thought brought on by Sakuras words and the way sakura addresses him.

its one of her chakra sensing abiltys if she feels the chakra is fluctuating then she can tell their lying

sakura could also have an abiltiy to hide her chakra or keep it perfect which would make it hard for karin to read

I too think that "human lie detector" is a bit of rhetoric, or a means of getting an edge over her opponents. (If Karin's foe thinks she has this ability, they probably won't try deception on her, which makes her life easier.)

We saw in the flashback that when she was freaked out, that she couldn't detect her teammates, a honkin' huge bear, and a sharigan-using bear-booter. That makes it likely that Karin would have to be concentrating (with a lot of chakra??) to use her sensing skills. Karin, dying and upset at Sasuke pronouncing her death sentence, would not be actively scanning.

Karin's statement is probably based on hearing one of Sasuke's Leaf peers saying (lying) that she regrets not leaving with Sasuke ("she must love him").
