Thats that. Chicago was the better team. Also Leighton finally started playing like a backup Goalie but what can you do. Never thought they'd get this far this year.

Wow what a goal, I didn't think it had even made it in at first! But I was pleased since I was rooting for Chicago.

Yea, it was a series for the first four games but they really turned it on in Game 5. Well, it was a hell of a run. Disappointed, but I'm still proud of what they were able to accomplish.

I don't know, I never really saw much brilliance from Leighton to begin with. I think people were too high on him since he was able to shut down a non-existent Montreal offense. Neither goalie played great this series (i.e. no stealing games).

Don't worry, nobody but Kane himself knew the puck went in for the first few seconds. It was pretty funny seeing Kane celebrating all by himself until his teammates caught up.

Damn, we're officially into the off-season now huh? Can't we just start the next season a couple of days after the draft?

P.S. Kane is a douche.
Pretty bored.

A sad bit of news in hockey this week. Former Red Wings and Blackhawks enforcer Bob Probert died on July 5, 2010. When he played he was THE enforcer for the NHL. He played 935 games over a 16 year career. 9 with the Red Wings and 7 with the Blackhawks. Scored 163 goals with 221 assists, and is the 5th most all time leader of Penalty Minutes 3300 including 398 in his lone All-Star year of 1987-88. RIP Bob, the hockey world will miss you.

Just working with my Canucks, but.

Mike Peca, Mike Wilson, and a 1st round pick (Jay McKee) to the Sabres for Alexander Mogilny. (oops)
Cam Neely and a 1st round pick (Glen Wesley) to the Bruins for Barry Pedersen. (aw @#$! me)
Roberto Luongo, Lukas Krajicek, and a 6th round pick (Sergei Shirokov) to the Panthers for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen, and Alex Auld. (yay!)

Regarding the Gagne trade, cap reasons I'm thinking because you still need a Goalie. Paging Marty Turco....

Yes, yes... I probably over-reacted when I first saw the news... but it doesn't change the fact that the trade was insanely bad (from a Philly perspective).

If it was just for cap reasons, they could have just waived Gagne and let someone pick him up. Or you would have to think that they would have at least been able to get another pick instead of a useless, defense-liability, and overpaid Walker. Which is another reason that this couldn't have been a pure salary dump trade since they took back a ~1.7 mil for 3 season cap hit (and let's not forget that Tampa also traded Meszaros to Philly on draft day whose cap hit is 4 mil a season... so they have, in a round-a-bout way, added to the cap hit) for a defenseman they don't need (they already had 7 defensemen before this trade). It just makes no sense from Philly's side.

Don't forget we're talking about Simon Gagne here. One of the best two-way forwards in the game (when he's healthy). Sure he gets injured a lot, but remember that this is his contract year so there's a high possibility he will try harder to stay healthy this season. Not to mention he only counts against the cap for 1 season so if he doesn't work out, he's gone by the next season.

Still has me scratching my head.
Pretty bored.

Back in business. Really want to see the Pens get smashed

EDIT: Flyers win 3-2. So glad they pulled it off even without Pronger

I was excited for a thrilling game 7, haven't seen one in sports for a bit. But bleh, Vancouver just let it all fall apart as soon as the bruins scored in game 6. Incredibly anti-climatic.

Well I was rooting for B town so I was pleased, Thomas was amazing in the game. Vancouver is just melting down right now though. I heard that the chain Boston Pizza changed it's name to Vancouver Pizza for a while, guess that backfired lol.

You know, it's really fascinating when both fanbases are ready to jump off ledges after a trade. (Referring to the Richards-Schenn/Simmonds trade, Columbus fans - all 3 of them - are busy doing cartwheels.)

Luongo takes a metric crapton of abuse for not playing up to his contract, fair or not. Bryzgalov is signed to a higher cap hit than Bobby Lu. I don't know dude, I think your boys overpaid badly there. Your forwards will be really scary in 2-3 years, but then your top D pair will be in their mid/late 30s along with Bryz. I don't know if you were trying to win now or later? Feels like you got stuck in the middle.
