it'll be great to finally see Garp and Sengoku have a go at it. I know it's been a while since the Straw Hats have appeared, but these recent chapters with all the high tiers have made me appreciate the rest of the cast so much more with how interesting they are. And White beard continues to show his awesomeness with every chapter.

Is it just me, or is Luffy/Hancock the new NaruSaku?

I occassionally patrol other forums and I notice that the LuNa fans are just as rabid as the NaruHina fans as well as how the author is clearly against their ship.

Hehe, Garp cracks me up. This is going to be an awesome fight I'm sure. It doesn't look good for Ace now, but I think they're stalling the execution until someone gets close enough to stop it. If they just decided to kill him, Ace would have been a head shorter before the fight started, and this would be Luffy raging along and punching stuff.

Now, what kind of power does Garp posess I wonder. He cornered the Pirate King, and he's father of one of the most wanted men in the world as well as the grandfather of one of the top pirate rookies of the generation (with a good bounty on his head already). There has to be something special about him, especially if the other marines call him legendary. That kind of name doesn't come cheap in OP!

Well, as we've seen with Coby and Helmeppo, Garp knows the Rokushiki techniques well enough to teach them to other people. As well, his training brought those two to what appears to be a rather dangerous level. Coby seemed to be about the same level Luffy was when he fought Arlong, maybe even when he fought Crocodile. For how little time has passed, that's pretty impressive. In other words, Garp is most likely about, oh, 100 times as strong as that. To top it off, he appears to know how to use Haki, as he just body checked a Logia user. Not to mention, he has decades of real life combat experience at his disposal. Which is something that actually has merit in One Piece. Pirates and Marines that have been active for a long time seem to be the most dangerous. And to be considered legendary by so many people, I think it's a safe bet to say that he may be the strongest Marine in the world.

Poor Luffy, trying so hard, only to fail again and again. I hope he comes out of this stronger than before. He's certainly strengthened his ties with a bunch of people.

Oh, and just because I need to say it every week: Jinbei is awesome, and I love him.

Marco's devil fruit isn't a logia fruit, but a mythical Zoan, which is said to be a step up from Logia even. He turns himself into a Phoenix... a bird of fire... weee, and he's awesome.

Garp has refused promotion as well, so I think he's at least the same level as Sengoku. He's physically stronger than more or less every character we have seen so far that's not a giant (Oz), but if you count size to power ratio, he's the strongest character so far. Remember how he threw this ball:

That thing should say something anyway. And with a mastery of the Rokushiki abilities, he's obviously a forminable enemy. Add haki to the lot so he can beat devil fruit users as well, and he's scary strong.

And it looks like Whitebeard, no matter how awesome, can't overcome the effects of being stabbed and having a deadly disease. It's not looking so great for the pirates right now.

I have to admit, I'm slowly starting to lean towards Luffy/Hancock. She really does seem to care about him, in her own insane way. And standing up to one of the Kuma bots is pretty badass in itself, seeing as one of them took all of the Strawhats just to disable.

And damn, Whitebeard is the best dad ever. It's one thing to say you'll do anything for your children. It's another thing entirely to take on the strongest military in the world with a body ravaged by disease.

It's not a new power. He unlocked his Haki when fighting Boa Hancock's sisters, but he has no control. Weaker minds will shut down under the force of Luffy's Haki, and the cannon fodder about to kill Ace didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of staying up when they got a direct blast from Luffy's Haki.

When he learns to use it in his fights properly, he'll reach yet another level of awesome!!

But daaaaaaaaaaaaaymn, Whitebeard is really GAR. I can't wait to see the next chapter.

Whitebeard pretty much confirms that having his men back up Luffy means he's going to be the next pirate king and Luffy better learn how to fully use his Haki taking on old Garp and Sengoku.

Hmm, I wonder what Hancock is going to do after this fight. She's pretty much out of the Shichibukai at this point, but she can't leave her island undefended.

I hope Luffy won't beat his gramps just yet, but somehow still get to his brother to save him. Garp might be a marine, but he cares for both his lads, so perhaps he'll hold back a little to save Ace's life without loosing face to anyone but seagullhat?

Epicness all around. I don't think Luffy's got much of chance against the old man, but he'll hang in there. Though personally I'm more interested in Croc vs Mihawk, two different personalities clashing!

What a great chapter seeing Luffy rescue Ace! Garp wanted Luffy to punch him all along so he could have Ace and Luffy get away. Garp's probably the one who tipped the pirates off in the first place.
